I thought goblin's were weak!

Thorne placed his hand on the door and without even applying any pressure for it to open it slid out of the way, but there was no noise of any contraption which made him confused as to how the door had opened. Beyond the entrance was a pitch black room, there was zero light at all and none of the glowing moss had even so much as touched to cave past the doorway, almost as if it was afraid of growing there.

After spending a few moments controlling his nerves Thorne focused on sensing the aura of the creature that was inside and to his relief or his misfortune it was still inside and it had yet to move from its original location. Every one of his footsteps into the room felt as if hundreds of pounds had been added to his back and his mind raced trying to stay focused on the aura of the massive creature.

The door slammed behind him and caused him to freak out, but he had no time to as a row of torches lined the walls of the cavern opening. In less than five seconds the light revealed the insidious creature that was in front of him. Its color was a sickening green and its body looked malnourished. It had no fat on its body and its muscles were almost nonexistent making it seem like it was sucked dry of all its blood.

It's eyes opened to reveal is black pupils that sent chills through Thorne. The monster must have been 8 foot tall and its lanky arms stretched past its knees. One arms was holding a piece of wood that could have just come off of a tree.

The only clothes on its body was the loincloth around its pelvis that protected Thorne from being flashed by another type of monster.

"What is that thing." Thorne tried to search through his faint knowledge of web comics and games, but the only thing that looked remotely close to the monster in front him was the trash mob from any source of monster media, A Goblin.

"Goblins are supposed to be small and weak though." Panic followed his short statement and at the same time the monster that he presumed to be a goblin had started to move towards him slowly. Each time its feet striked the ground the sound of feet hitting a wet floor followed.

Before Thorne had realized he was in range of it's abnormally long arms and it led to him having to take the brunt of the goblins makeshift club to the short blade of the dagger. Although he managed to block the attack the force of the impact had been way more than he thought a malnourished beast would be capable of and caused him to fly back and roll multiple times on the ground of the cave.

"Whoa, hold on buddy give a couple seconds." Even though he knew his pleas were falling on deaf ears he felt he had no choice to throw his words out and hope that he would get a chance to compose himself again. Unfortunately for him it didn't work and he was once again attacked by the club. This time he was able to step to the side and deliver two quick slashes to the arm that was holding the glove, but the creatures skin felt like he was hitting rocks and his attacks left zero damage.

"As if he reach wasn't a problem already."

He backed up and gave himself some distance before hurriedly examining the body of the goblin for any kind of weak point. His search felt like a lost cause and he instead focused on the fight and trying the prioritize common weak points such as the heart and head.

The goblin rushed at him again but this time it flew through the air while in a attempt to kick Thorne, which backfired for the creature and allowed Thorne to parry it to the ground and give him a chance to attempt a critical hit to the vitals, but yet again was stopped by the unnaturally hard texture of the goblin's skin.

Thorne was forced to take the brunt of a kick from the goblin, luckily it was sent from the ground which significantly weakened the goblin's attack allowing for Thorne to not sustain any critical damage.

The beast quickly got up and ran at Thorne with speed that he had not seen in the battle thus fair and forced him to prepare to block another attack. He received an over head attack from the goblin which caused him to practically crumble to the ground in an effort to resist the brute strength of the goblin.

Eventually it became to much for Thorne to resist and he was forced to roll out of the way, but not before throwing a last ditch attack towards the monsters achilles tendon which miraculously was met with no resistance and caused the goblin to fall down with a ear deafening shriek. Thorne had lost his hearing all that was left was high pitched ringing and the sight of his foe collapsed on the ground unable to bear its weight on a single leg.

Without hesitation he ran towards the monster and unleashed multiple stabs to the goblin's head and he watched as each one took a piece of the monsters life. His ears had blood running down them and he was unable to hear anything until a voice that he had come to recognize had entered his brain.

Thorne fell to the floor and gasped for breath, he still couldn't hear but he could feel just how much he was breathing and he was struggling to find the strength to stand up and move.

Eventually he heard another voice enter his brain.
