Chapter 42: Fighting over gifts

Jason, Linda and Emilia left the mall they lost interest in shopping after leaving the store.

"They just have to ruin my surprise for you." Emilia told Linda as soon as they got home. "The things in the bag are all for you. I don't know I would run into those vain people. I am sorry if I spoil your day."

"For me." Linda was not expecting those things Emilia was humiliated for because of her.

"Yes, I am the first to get a gift from Emilia. In your face son." She said to Jason.

"You aren't the first mum I am so stop making me jealous." Jason informed his mother

"What did she get you?"

"A nice shirt and trouser."

Emilia looked at the mother and son bickering because of her she smiled. "I love these people they don't judge me for my humble background, they just accept me for me not for anything else." she said to herself.

"Why did you only buy things for my mother and not for your future husband? Am I less important than my mother?" Jason asked Emilia envious of his mother.

Gavin walked into the living room at that moment, as soon as he heard Emilia buying things for Linda, "Where is mine, Emilia?"

"What? Emilia is giving out gifts." Jacob said coming out from his lab in the basement of the house.

"I am the first to get gift. I am the first to get gift." Linda sang all the way to her room.

Jason told Emilia to go to her room and rest he will handle his grandfather and his dad.

"OK see you all at dinner."

Jason made sure Emilia closed her room door before he told his father and grandfather about what transpired at the mall.

"Some people just won't learn right. Let's just drive them out of town so Emilia will have peace." Gavin said.

"The Brooklyns think they are strong but it's time to show them who is boss."
