At midnight on the campus, the warm wind blew on Cherish Turner's face, making her feel a bit more awake.
The two of them walked back to the tree-lined path, retrieved their bicycles, and left the school together through the side door.
After hailing a car, they returned to the parking area and rushed to the Deep Wave Mansion after several transfers.
On the way, Cherish fell asleep again. When they parked the car, William Griffith didn't want to wake her up, so he let her slender hands wrap around his neck and carried her upstairs. He freed one hand to open the door, then closed it with his arm. Carrying her to the bedroom, he gently laid her down. Fearing that she might feel too hot, he turned on the central air conditioning; but not wanting her to feel cold, he covered her with a light blanket.
Cherish turned over, finally sleeping in a comfortable and peaceful way.
