⤄CHAPTER 5: 'Yue Xianwu’s 2nd Mission: Turmoil Awaits in the Ruins of Silent City’ (Part 1)

Xianwu woke up under the morning shine. The rays hitting her eyes felt slightly uncomfortable. Xianwu opening her eyes gazed at the sight of her garden protected with fences. "Ah… I fell asleep on the doorway again…" she thought while peeking at Fa ling who snored on her lap. A smile escaped her lips. Gently she tried to stand up not to disturb Fa ling, but, in the end he woke up.

"Good morning~" she greeted. Xianwu folded her sheets and placed them in the closet. She soon washed up, as Fa ling wrapped himself around her wings. Xianwu walked outside. The never changing sight greeted her. She picked up the close by empty barrel. Closing the door she made her way to the village.

In the mortal world it was fall season. The slight humid temperature and the dry wind from which throat would ache would be the most prominent features depicting it. This season is mostly disliked by the heavenly Supremes so, they tend to stay in the heavenly realm mostly in this time of the year. Xianwu however seemed very please. Whatever happened last night with Yeying long was still on her mind but she tried to keep it aside for now. She toddled past Amian's house. Pausing in her steps she went to knock on her door.

Soon afterwards Amian came out, her child sitting in a wooden stroller she pushed from behind. "Good morning, young lady" Amian greeted. "Good morning…" Xianwu replied. The little boy laughed at her sight. "Good morning to you too, little one." Xianwu greeted. The boy giggled in delight as he lifted his arms upwards towards her. Amian chuckled "Would you like to pick him up?" she asked. Xianwu blinked her eyes. She gently picked the little boy in her arms who in return giggled louder. Xianwu patted his back. "Are you going to the village as well?" Xianwu asked. Amian nodded in pleasure.

"My groceries were coming to an end, my husband had to go for fishing today so I thought of going myself are you probably going for water?" she asked. Xianwu nodded. Amian picked the barrel and kept it in the stroller. The two of them walked towards the village. "Your martial brother isn't with you today?" Amian asked. Xianwu nodded while replying "Xiao Yin?! Ah, Yes… he went back home. He is really naughty not quick to listen, it was really hard to even make him go back." Amian nodded with a smile.

Xianwu patted the child's back as he laughed "He likes you a lot!" Amian complimented. She smiled lifting him up in the air Xianwu cheered "Little boy! You like me?! Really! I'm so happy!" the boy giggled louder than the last time. "Haha!!" Xianwu laughed. Amian smiled "Did you know, I was quiet surprised finding out that you were a Heavenly Supreme. It took me a lot of time to accept it." She stated. Xianwu nodded replying "I'm sorry to keep it a secret. Thank you for helping me even after you knew the truth…"

Amian added "No need to worry about it. Not matter a Heavenly Supreme or a General. In my eyes you are a little girl after all." Xianwu smiled back as she declared "I would be glad if you think of me like that. Not a heavenly supreme, a princess, a spirit or anything else… just a little girl, who loves this world and this little village in which she resides in now…" Amian blinked her eyes in surprise.

"I'm glad, even to be a mortal human…" Xianwu thought with a sad smile. "You know…" Amian told "Xiao Yin, came running to me when we heard noises from the village day before yesterday. At that time we were so worried. However, he was anxious about you more than anything else. He even took my baby and me to the village to check out. The time we arrived, you had already fainted." Xianwu listened to her seriously. "I really didn't know anything about it…" Xianwu replied.

Amian continued "Xiao Yin was expressionless at that time, but he still bowed down to me and in turn asked me help you clean up and get your clothes changed. I was shocked too but I decided to already do that even if he hadn't bowed to me… such a silly child and the whole time he helped me with everything without even saying a single word." she laughed lightly. "No wonder… he was ignoring me when I woke up hun…" Xianwu thought with a sigh. "Is that so?" she asked back. Amian nodded earnestly. "By the way it's been so long since I haven't known you name?" she asked. Xianwu smiled "Xianwu… my name is Xianwu." Xianwu replied. Soon they reached the village.

Recognizing the sight of the worn out inn. The two of them made their way in. "Xianwu… I have to go forward for some vegetables. In the meantime can you take care of my child? He really enjoys your company." Amian requested. Xianwu with a slight nod agreed. Amian left forward to the fields. The innkeeper tracing Xianwu's sight welcomed "Young Lady! Welcome again!" Xianwu faced him. "Mister Innkeeper, How are you?" Xianwu asked cheerfully. "Everything is fine now, thanks to you!" he laughed joyfully.

"Many immigrants are returning back to the village, after they found out that our problem is solved. All of us are very happy! I'm even getting lots of customers lately. Today you are also babysitting how it's looking to me… so tell me what you would like to eat in return of your hard work? Don't worry it's free!" he asked. Xianwu patting the baby's back replied "Anything is fine." The man urging Xianwu to sit left for the order. Looking at the sight Xianwu was relieved. The children had grown free to enjoy and play, thanks to the surroundings and many of immigrants were coming back. The sight of inn which at first looked haunted and lonesome was starting to get merrier. "After some time… this village will become unrecognisable." Xianwu wished wholesomely.

"Sister!" called a sweet voice drowning all of Xianwu's thoughts in a second. Xianwu looked outside the window. Young children whom she met before were waving at her. The sight was charming. "The number of children have increased from the last time… that's great!" Xianwu thought with a smile. Getting up from the bench she asked "Yes little sweethearts?" Her smile gleaming. "Will you play with us?" asked a little girl. Xianwu a little confused replied "I'd love to. But…" she lifted the little boy upwards for them to see. "I don't think I can, under my circumstances…"

"Auhh…" they cried. "You saved my village and I really look up to you so you better play with us!" called a boy grumpily. Xianwu laughed awkwardly. "Children these days… I can't even compete." Xianwu grabbing the child walked outside the inn. The kids surrounded her in a circle cheering hard. "Be careful everyone." Xianwu advised. "Sister, we found so many friends to play now." Said a girl lively.

"Really! Then show me how you play, Go! Show me, show me I'm quite envious…" Xianwu urged. The kids chuckled in delight as they started catching each other. Fa Ling stood up as the child in her arms pulled him mercilessly. Fa Ling escaped playing in turn. "Me too! Me too! We also want to play with long hairs!" exclaimed the children together. Xianwu laughed loudly playing with them.
