"Was there no other way?"
Lea closed her eyes, her expression full of hurt.
She couldn't believe Davis once again threw his life on the line like that.
Life wasn't going to be that simple. When things go out of control, he may make a mistake, which causes his soul to rupture and scatter.
"Well," Davis stretched his soul body, "The other choice would've been to face the Celestial Transcendent in a few months or even weeks, which would've ended in a disaster even if I survived."
He turned to look at Lea, his eyes gentle. Even if he survived, it was not clear if his people would survive. He didn't want to take that chance unless there was no other way.
He exhaled with a bright smile, "What's done is done. We can't look back, Lea. After we return home, it would be your duty to convince your sisters."
