Dietrich's breath caught in his throat as the words hit him like a blow to the chest.
Elise is missing.
His vision darkened for a moment, rage and panic surging through him. Every instinct screamed at him to act—to tear through his territory until he found her.
The thought of her in danger, in the hands of GREED, twisted his gut into knots.
"Head back to the castle!" he ordered, his voice sharp and commanding as he turned to Sulphisix. "Prepare the fastest horses. We leave now."
His soldiers scrambled into action, knowing better than to waste time when their king was like this.
Dietrich stormed in the direction of the horses, his mind spinning, adrenaline pumping through his veins. Valara called out after him, her voice steady but urgent.
"Your Majesty, be cautious. If they've taken Lady Elise…"
