Detective Marries The Mafia

I never thought my first-ever private mission would be a failure. On top of that, getting kidnapped was the worst mishap one could ever have in their life. And above all, getting kidnapped as a detective was just a loss of pride... But surprisingly, as the humid night passed with freezing fear, the path of opportunities to resume my mission grew. At a certain point of time, two options were slapped on my face; Either Become a Slave Or Become a Bride Of course, I chose to be the slave because... "No, you can't!" Eagle declared. "Why can't I?" He didn't reply, instead took my hand in his and sang across the Ghost Court, "I, Beloved of Ghost City, Ghost of the Moon's and Eagle of White, hereby declare myself to be your husband by law and by heart." WHAT!?

Detective Venesa

Again we had to cross through the dark pavement as we were returning from the court to the basement.

The expensive food I had was on the verge of coming out of my stomach. First of all, I was car sick and secondly, the claim made by Eagle made me sick.

He fucking agreed to marry me as if it was a matter of joke!

Tenure of slavery had to be served only 1 year but the bond of marriage had to be maintained forever, I would die rather than be married to a criminal, that too being a detective, a highly regarded police officer! Oh my pride!

"Can you stop the car please?" I REQUESTED

"I can't, if I attempt to do so, we will be killed," Eagle said speeding the car.

"I need to empty my stomach," I said huffing and leaned against the seat to support my body. "You prick, you have been planning that all along, right?"

"What, to marry you?"

"No, to incite a tendency in me to vomit in your car."

Keeping one hand on the steering wheel, Eagle leaned back his body and stretched his right hand on the back seat in search of something. I heard the sound of crumbling plastic before he gave me a black plastic bag.

"Retch in it," he said handing me the bag.

Seriously...

The car took a slightest break and it was over for me. I took the bag in front of me before the bile could spread in the expensive car.

My throat burned and I felt the sourness of acid in my mouth.

"I could have served a one-year slavery tenure," I said relaxing my body after the great turbulence.

"You think I am happy to marry you?" he snapped back.

"I could have killed Tiger, it would've been easy." I mindlessly looked into the dark. "But if I kill you, eventually I will get killed."

Hazael had a weird law. It stated that a wife of Dregs and Tycoons should be burned along with her dead husband's pyre, their property should be transferred to the royal and their children must be sent to the orphanage.

"You think it will be easy to play detective inside Ghost City?"

"No, it's not that... Wait!" It took a moment for me to digest his words before I enquired, "What did you just say?"

"I know you heard me clear and precise, Detective Venesa."

I gulped down my saliva as the invisible cold sweat broke out from my face. He knew me. He knew my designation, he knew my name!

"How do you know me?" I asked slowly breaking out of my previous character.

"We met on the Import Office rooftop, remember me?"

So, I was right, he was that bastard!

Now that he mentioned, let me kill him now.

I am keeping this chapter short guys because I have different recipe for next chapter
