Chapter 15: Forging Destiny
With the Hive threat vanquished and the satellite station secured, Freya and I proceeded to search for available loot and materials within the station. The darkness of the Hive's presence still lingered, but there were valuable resources to be salvaged.
As we scoured the chamber where Omnigul had conducted her dark ritual, Freya's flashlight revealed a stash of Spinmetal, a rare and valuable resource. The twisted forms of Hive Knights lay around us, and I noticed the core of one of their swords. The core was a powerful source of energy, tainted by Hive magic but potentially useful if purified.
Nearby, an old pair of gauntlets lay on the ground, battered and damaged from their time in the Hive's presence. They were a reminder of the battles fought in this station, and I felt a strange connection to them.
Freya scanned the items and relayed the information to me. "Odin, we've found a stash of Spinmetal, a Hive Knight's sword core, and these gauntlets. The gauntlets may be repaired and used again, but they're soaked in Hive dark magic from being in the presence of darkness for too long."
I examined the gauntlets, their design reminiscent of my Hunter class. The idea of repairing and purging them of the Hive's taint appealed to me. The gauntlets had a history, one that was tied to the battles I had faced in the station.
As I considered the potential of the items, a transmission came through from Banshee-44. His gruff voice crackled through the transmission, and he wasted no time in getting to the point.
"Guardian, I've got a list of materials needed for the custom hand cannons you requested. You'll need 100 kilograms of Spinmetal, 10 liters of Vex Fluid, 2 powerful energy cores, 2 Prime Fusion Cells, and 25,000 Glimmer for production costs."
I nodded as I listened to the list. It was an ambitious order, but the promise of wielding those customized hand cannons was too alluring to resist. I knew I would need to gather the necessary materials to fulfill my vision.
Freya's scan of the items revealed that we had a significant portion of the required Spinmetal, a valuable resource that would be used in the hand cannon production. The Hive Knight's sword core was a potent source of energy, though it would require purification to be safely used in the custom weapons.
As I considered the list of materials needed, I couldn't help but feel a sense of determination. This was my destiny, to forge my path as a Guardian, to confront the darkness, and to create the weapons that would aid me in my journey.
Freya's eye blinked with anticipation. "Odin, it seems we have a significant portion of the Spinmetal required, and the Hive Knight's sword core could be a valuable asset once purified. We'll need to find the remaining materials and Glimmer to fulfill Banshee's order."
I nodded in agreement. "We'll need to gather the materials and funds for the production costs. It won't be easy, but it's a challenge I'm ready to embrace. These hand cannons are more than just weapons; they're a symbol of my commitment to the Light."
With a sense of purpose, I gathered the Spinmetal and the Hive Knight's sword core, securing them for the journey ahead. The old pair of gauntlets, soaked in Hive darkness, would need to be purged of their taint before they could be repurposed.
Freya's flashlight illuminated our path as we left the station, the journey back to the Tower already filled with anticipation and the promise of a destiny forged by my own hands.
