Chapter 13: Into the Darkness
As I raced toward the satellite station on my Sparrow, the wind rushed past me, and the thrill of the ride coursed through my veins. The Cosmodrome's landscape blurred by as I focused on reaching the satellite tower to restore the signal.
My journey, however, was not without opposition. Four Dregs on their pike vehicles, similar to the Sparrow I now rode, closed in on me, front arc shooters blazing. They were agile and relentless, determined to stop me in my tracks.
With a combination of swift maneuvers and precise shots from my weapon, I engaged the Dregs one by one. The Sparrows weaved through the terrain, and I used my newfound Hunter skills to outmaneuver them, my blaster firing with deadly accuracy.
One by one, the Dregs fell, their vehicles erupting in arc energy as they met their end. The thrill of the battle was exhilarating, but I had a mission to complete, and the signal awaited restoration.
As I finally reached the satellite station, it became clear that this was more of a station than a tower. A group of Fallen, led by a formidable Fallen Captain, guarded the entrance. The Captain's four arms bristled with weapons, and his presence was a harbinger of the challenges that lay ahead.
I took a vantage point, concealed from their sight, and prepared to engage them. The Captain barked orders to his squad, and they scattered, taking cover and preparing for battle. I focused my aim, targeting the Fallen one by one, making every shot count.
The blaster fired with precision, and arc-infused bullets cut through the enemy ranks. The battle was fierce, and the Captain's resilience was notable, but I had the Light on my side. With one final, well-placed shot, the Captain fell, and the remaining Fallen scattered.
I cautiously approached the entrance of the satellite station, ready for whatever awaited me in the dark reaches of the place. Freya's flashlight illuminated our path, and her scans revealed signs of Hive presence.
As we ventured deeper, the light began to thin, and the darkness grew heavier. It was a sensation I had felt in my knowledge of the Destiny game, the unmistakable presence of the Hive.
The Hive were a sinister and ancient race, masters of dark magic and terror. I knew the gruesome residue on the walls of the station was Hive-related, a sign of their malevolent presence.
We arrived at a sealed shutter gate, covered in grotesque mold. It was a grim reminder of the Hive's vile influence. I recognized the substance as Hive residue, a mark left by their mere presence.
I took a moment to prepare myself, knowing that what lay beyond the gate would be a confrontation with the Hive, a malevolent force unlike any other in this universe.
Freya's flashlight pierced the darkness, and I could feel her guiding presence. With a deep breath, I activated the controls to open the gate, and it slowly creaked open.
As the shutter gate revealed what lay beyond, the grim, shadowy depths of the satellite station, I couldn't help but feel a shiver of anticipation and dread. The Hive awaited, and I was ready to face them, a Guardian of the Light, in the heart of darkness.
