Chapter 30

Selena

We are getting ready for the Mehndi function which starts in an hour. I'm wearing an emerald green indo-western outfit because for God's sake I know how long I'm going to sit getting the Heena on my hands and feet and I really needed something comfortable, manageable yet fancy being the bride.

Mom and Tia are our official stylists for the weddings, where my brother is handling all the other chores and Rhys stepped into to handle the security part. As it's a private wedding, he is making sure none of the outsiders gets inside apart from family and close friends. However, the only people who are a part of the wedding from my side are My family, Tia and her parents, Chris and his Parents, Rhys, his wife, their lovely three-year-old daughter, and his parents, and last but not least, my team including the stylist and make-up artist. I am so glad they decided to join because it does look like a family now and it makes me happy.

It's been 2 hours already that I have been sitting here, my hands are so fucking cold because of the Heena while the Heena artist is still applying Mehndi on my feet. It's going to be another 30 mins for me to get finished with this and Mumma and Tia are already done with their mehndi and have been dancing non-stop along with my would-be mother-in-law. My mother looks so happy!!

Tia brought Namjoon along with her and convinced him to get Heena on his hands too, so now he's sitting next to me getting Heena on his hands too. He did agree but still is reluctant about it so I told the Heena artist to just make a circle on both his hands for the shagun.

The Mehndi function finally wrapped up, it's almost 12 and I just got time to eat dinner with the help of Chris, yeah, my best friend finally got time for me but I can't exactly blame him… his schedule kept him extremely busy!! I still remember his expression the moment I informed him about my marriage. He was shocked, angry, excited, and happy at the same time. He's feeding me because I can't use my hands due to the mehndi….

I'm dying to sleep because gosh getting married is no easy task, especially at Indian weddings!! I have been so tied up the whole week with the wedding preparations and rituals that I'm exhausted now but I'm getting married tomorrow. Wait for a second… tomorrow!!! I'm getting married tomorrow!!!!

'Waheguru' (Punjabi version of oh my god)

With all the wedding functions, Engagement, Sangeet, Haldi, and Mehndi, time went by in a blink because my mind was hell occupied to keep my anxiety in check, trying to enjoy the wedding functions, and also working with Tia on collecting more evidence against Sabrina. Yeah, I know I said I'll take a break for the wedding but I couldn't completely ignore it.

Okay, I can't talk anymore...… good night.

The next morning...

I woke up at 6 in the morning for the wedding pre-wedding rituals and have been sitting on this chair for 2 hrs now. I urged the make-up artist to keep my make as light as possible but it was 3 against 1!! Tia, Mumma, and my makeup artist all decided to do it their way so yeah, they won.

once I'm done with my hair as well... I look at myself in the floor-length mirror.

I'm wearing a Lilac-colored Lehnga for my wedding and added a violet-colored see-through dupatta for the veil and an extra pop of color to my subtle outfit. Unlike, other outfits... this one is chosen by me only. I kept the jewelry light and my hair tied in a simple bun, completing the look with make-up. And did I mention my pretty red Choora (traditional Punjabi bangles worn by brides) is my favorite thing right now?

I always wanted to wear a choora, I just love how pretty it looks in the hands of the newlywed, it's like it adds to their beauty... always. Satisfied with my look, I turned to look at Mumma and Tia and saw their faces beamed with happiness, they both hugged me and showered me with their love.

Mumma went outside to welcome the baraat (the groom's family), I'm supposed to wait in the room until I'm called downstairs. As the Indian wedding is taking place at Mumma's home, they brought the 'Guru Granth Sahib Ji' (The Holy book of Sikhism) at home for the traditional Sikh wedding. The lawn in the back is the venue for the wedding.

Namjoon

I'm sitting in front of the Holy book with my legs crossed and waiting for Selena. My bride finally arrived and sat next to me. Her lehenga skirt is so fluffy and huge and it has taken up at least one foot of space between us. I realized our outfits are again color coordinated, while she's wearing this beautiful Lilac-colored lehenga with a violet see-through veil, I'm wearing a Lilac-colored Sherwani with a violet Turban.

Did I tell you how beautiful my bride looks right now? Absolutely breath-taking!!! <3 <3 <3

The wedding started and we did as were told by the Sikh priest, an hour later, they pronounced us husband and wife and made us sign the wedding certificates. Everyone came and congratulated us.

The day ended and we finally get to sit in peace. As we still have another wedding tomorrow, my lovely bride and I were in different rooms at her mother's place.

To make it less of a hassle and more private, our families decided to host the other wedding at her mother's house only but there was one thing still bothered me. Selena was still receiving hateful letters from 'S' but they didn't reach her this time as I made sure nothing bothersome would be allowed near her. She will not know about them, not anymore. I have asked my man to investigate who is sending these letters to her.

Also, I wanted to talk to my wife but didn't get a chance the whole day. The only words we said to each were 'Congratulations' when we got married. Selena still doesn't talk to me nicely but she keeps her act intact in front of our families and friends and behaved lovey-dovey and I think I can work with it for now. I will have a lot of time to sort things out with her, once she's officially MINE.

After checking everything and making sure that my dear wife is safe and sound, I decided to sleep.
