"Mr. Chen, I must work in the morning," Daily Simpson said. "Treat me first. I can't go to work with an injured face."
The mother and daughter were both injured. Clearly, Daily didn't plan on giving in to her stepdaughter. She cared more about her career than her stepdaughter.
However, judging by Ville's swollen face and messy hair, Chen Zhao felt like she had heavier injuries than Daily.
"I'll treat your daughter first."
"Treat me first. I need to work. I can't go to the TV station with bruises."
Chen Zhao glanced at Daily and ignored her.
"I'm paying you!" Daily yelled angrily.
In real life, she wasn't the mature and charismatic woman that she was on TV.
"You better think carefully or I'll report you for child abuse!" Chen Zhao barked.
Daily stopped talking. She'd always been protecting her image. If she had a child abuse scandal, her career would be over, so she admitted defeat and didn't argue with Chen Zhao again.
