"Sergeant Dory, what's the situation there??" A male voice which was panicking asked from the headquarters.
Noise of glass shattering, bullet firing and bombs could be heard from the walkie talkie.
"Sergeant Dory!! Explain the situation now!" The man who was calling from the other side was the General of the special armed force that was sent to subdue the terrorist gang in one of the southern region.
"Sorry, General. The situation is not right to talk to you no…." A man tired explaining from the other side but..
"BOOMMM!!!"
A deafening blast sounded and the headquarters could only hear the sound of the man crying out in pain before they lost connection.
"Sergeant Dory??"
The General stood up from his chair and yelled at the phone startling the other soldiers who were busy trying to establish connection with the other fighters out in the open but in vain.

People were cowering in fear as they huddled together trying to comfort each other in the dark and cold space. There were mainly woman and children so they were even more sacred to the point of losing their sanity.
Why won't they turn insane when they had been locked up in the same dark nook for more than four days without seeing a ray of light.
Let alone time they did not even know whether it was day or night.
"It's a-alright…we wil-l be sav-ved." A girl whose face could not be seen in the dark tried consoling the other girls and the children present while she herself was shaking, her teeth stuttering because of cold and fear.
That did not help a bit because they knew they had been taken hostages by some powerful group and what awaited them was either DEATH or DEATH.
They doubted if they would die without ever seeing the light again.
There was no other option except that.
But as if proving them wrong, the door to the basement they were locked in opened with a creaking sound.
The sudden brightness made the hostages shut their eyes before slightly opening them half afraid, half anxious and a little hopeful.
"Everyone please come this way." A loud male voice spoke from the door, his voice providing one a sense of security and protection.
A tall man in a military dress calmly asked the people to who were held hostage in the basement of the terrorist camp to calm down.
Because of the anti-light, they could not see his face but his presence alone was reassuring and trustworthy.
Following his guidance and a few officers who came along with him the hostages took their first step towards their freedom, the bright day of light they had been deprived for four long days.
"Is that them all?" The sergeant asked as he watched the last hostage come out of the room, limping as she hid her face with a shawl. It looked like she was hurt.
"Hey, lady you seem hurt." He moved forward to help her since she seemed too weak to even be moving.
To sum it up the girl collapsed right into his arm, not in a romantic way though. She was just too tired.
"#Flash, help her up." He shouted at the nearest soldier gesturing him to come there. Flash was a code name given to the man.
"Yes, Sergeant." He helped a little girl on the truck and ran towards the place where he had been called.
As he drew near them, he could see the face of the girl and it seemed like she was showing a grin?? He looked again but did not see it making him doubt himself.
But he knew there was something wrong about the girl.
Flash immediately shouted at his superior, "Sergeant watch out!"
It was too late. His warning came out too late.
Right before everyone, the place where girl and the man were was engulfed in flame when a bomb that was attached in the body of the girl exploded, her body parts scattering everywhere in bits as if they were the flowers the bride maids scattered to welcome the entry of the bride.
No way anyone was capable of surviving the explosion but a figure emerged from within the smoke alive. He staggered as he walked towards the truck clutching the only remaining bit of the shawl that belonged to the lady.
"Sergeant!!" Flash felt a sigh of relief leave his mouth but it soon turned into a gasp of horror as he quickly averted his eyes unable to look at the bloodied face of the man that looked like as if it had been peeled off with a knife.
"Y-Your face…" He stuttered although he had seen such disheveled and gore scenes in battlefield but the one that was in the that condition was none other than his senior he respected very much.
Without caring for the shock and cry of surprise of the people present he directly went and called the headquarters.
"General, mission successful."
After uttering these words, darkness engulfed his vision and he fainted on the spot.
Sergeant! Sergeant!!
The soldiers circled the body as they called his name, shaking him up to prevent him from losing his consciousness but..
The only thing he could last remember was the small cry of a woman whose last words were, 'Sorry, I have to do this.'

A man who was wearing a mask to cover almost half of his face opened his one eye slowly whose eye ball had been stuck out unlike normal eye giving him a peculiar and weird appearance.
He was awoken from his deep sleep when he heard rustling of feet as if someone was pacing in the ground.
"Here you go."
A masked yet kind man handed out a lollipop to a girl who had been staring at the candy shop for almost five minutes walking around in circles.
The little girl hesitated a little bit before she came forth, a small step at a time to take the candy from the man who was smiling at her despite his ugly face full of scars.
"C-Can I re-really take it?" The little girl asked in her tiny voice that was filled with sweetness unimaginable.
"Yes, it's for you." Bowing down the man handed it to the wide spread tiny palm of the little girl.
The round black eyes of the girl glittered with happiness as she looked at the pink candy on her hand, her mouth dripping with water unable to hold her temptation inside.
"Thank you big brother." The girl sweetly smiled and left licking the lollipop with a content and happy face.
Astound he almost froze in surprise when she called him big brother. It had been quite a long time since anyone had smiled at him without any hypocrisy hidden in them.
The man looked at the little girl go until she disappeared from his sight.
"Kids are really the best." He gave a slight smile but it looked creepy when combined with his scarred face.
This man was none other than Cavin Dory who had been taken off from his duty, stripped of his position after his last mission where he was disfigured, crippled and well he looked at his legs that had iron as its support.
Yet, he held neither hatred nor any kind of resentment towards the one responsible for this. "That woman…" He recalled. "She too was fighting her own fight."
Her last words of apology still buzzed inside his ears as if it was just yesterday.
His chain of thought was broken when someone threw a candy at him, hitting him exactly on his eye.
"Hiss….." He gritted his teeth in pain since the eye was his sore spot.
"How dare you get near my daughter?! You cursed demon!!" A bald man in his forties shouted at him as he clutched the small hand of the girl who was crying her eyes out. He was the mayor of the city he had migrated into after leaving behind the city he lived in.
"What are you crying for? You brat…Haven't I fed you enough?" The man glared at the crying little girl with a frustrated and an ugly expression.
"Wahaha….heek.."
The girl under his strict gaze cried even louder hiccupping as she choked on her own salty tears.
The man raised his hands to slap the girl so as to teach her a lesson but his hand was caught by Cavin who struggled to maintain his balance.
"Please, don't hit her sir." Although he looked nothing like the glorious self from before his voice still had the commanding power as if he was the one in authority.
"Y-You.." overwhelmed by the aura, the old man stuttered losing his grip on the situation.
"I was the one who gave the candy to her." He looked at the girl, smiling even if it looked creepy because he could not bear the girl crying her eyes out like that. He at the least wanted to make her smile.
"You creepy demon!!"
Gaining back his composure the old man called over his men he had brought with him looking at Cavin with a purely disgusted face.
"Today is the day you will see your end."
As a helpless man, he could not defend himself and before he knew it he was dragged by them to the street and beaten like a dog but he made no sound of pain.
As a militant he was trained to accept and live with pain and injuries. A crowd gathered around the plaza and watched the scene where a disabled man was being beaten in broad daylight but no one took a step forward to speak for him, to stop this injustice.
"Is the creepy guy finally being shown his place" A man whispered as he enjoyed the beating scene.
Murmur and cries filled the entire street but the only thing he could hear was the sad wails of the little girl who was trying to hold back a man that was kicking him.
"Its fine little girl, this big brother is okay." He tried to smile but his weak and worn out body could not endure the beatings any more.
Soon the world turned dull and dark, the cries of the girl slowly fading away in the distant.
He knew his body much better than anyone else did. Although he had escaped and cheated death many times he knew this time death was certain and he was not afraid.
"Thank you, little girl." Cavin smiled the last time before letting out his final breath.
But this time too he was able to cheat the death or was he?
