CHAPTER 69

They were a hidden group of revolting citizens of Empire D against the royal family, their ancestors had gained awareness of the inhumane creatures that ruled over them through unknown sources and other supernatural creatures that walked among them so they formed a small secret society called the Anti-D society. Their ancestors had revolted in the past against the royals, they had warned people of the inhumane creatures that lived among them and ruled over them but no one believed them as they saw their accusations to be baseless since they had no hard evidence to support their claims. Their revolt against them caused their deaths as the Emperials wiped them off from the face of the earth as they were seen as a threat to the Empire and the Royal family.

But only a few of them survived and they passed on their knowledge about the creatures to their offsprings and they continued passing it down to their generations, after so many years but they still held on to the belief. They strongly believed that they had to get rid of the evil in their Empire and they were aware that the Royal family were beneath Lothaire, so they planned to take out Lothaire their leader first before revolting against the Royal family once again.

They had eyes and ears in the Castle and they gained little or no information from it, they were also informed about Lothaire's plans to travel and they instinctively followed him there. Lothaire knew the humans were up to something and he was aware of the prying eyes and ears in the Castle but he didn't waste his strength on them since they couldn't inflict any harm on him, they were weak humans, so he didn't bother much about them or their futile plans.

........

Larisa and Anne had their girls outing and time was quickly flying by, it was almost five so they went to their favourite spot to have some street food before they both dispatched to their various homes.

Larisa wanted to cherish every moment she and Anne would have before she would leave to Empire D, she made sure every time counted with only blissful moments to remember her friend by. She didn't know how to yet break the news to Anne that she would be leaving her forever, it would break her and she felt so bad about it but she had to leave with Lothaire, he made her complete and she wasn't sure she'd be able to live without him if she decided to stay instead, she couldn't even think of life without him for a second, she would be miserable.

"What are you thinking about?" Anne asked concerned as she saw her friend looking lost. Larisa quickly shook her head with a smile.

"Nothing, sorry I just got a little lost." Larisa replied as she feigned a smile but Anne knew her very well, she knew it wasn't nothing.

"You can tell me anything...What's wrong?" Anne asked gently with a sense of assurance. Larisa felt like she could tell her anything and she wondered if she could tell her friend the truth, maybe she would be understanding. Anne had always been rational and an understanding friend, maybe she would understand if she told her the truth. She gulped hard, she didn't know where to start from as Anne didn't even remember going to Empire D in the first place, the story would be so long and confusing, but she thought it would be better to tell her everything the next day since it was almost five and she had to leave.

"There's something I have to tell you..." Larisa said with a low voice and Anne had a serious expression as she was eager to know what she wanted to say. She could see Larisa's uneasiness as she spoke which made her aware of how serious whatever Larisa wanted to tell her was. She stayed silent and let her continue.

"I'll tell you tomorrow instead, it's late and Lothaire's waiting." Larisa explained as she got up to leave and Anne immediately got up after her.

"Seriously? You're going to give me sleepless nights thinking about what you said now." Anne complained as she shot her a glare.

"It's actually one sleepless night only, I promise I'll tell you everything tomorrow and I really hope you'll understand." Larisa said with a hopeful look as she pressed her lips in a thin line. Anne was the only one she could rely her feelings on and she'd have her back, she couldn't trust anyone else, her parents were a big never.

"Of course I'll understand, you can tell me anything. I don't care if you kill someone, I'll help you get rid of the body." Anne said with all genuineness and she smiled at her friend's word. If she could help her get rid of a body, then she could handle the truth, but she just realized the truth was heavier than a dead body, it was dark and dangerous.

"Right, I know, so I'll see you tomorrow then." Larisa said and Anne gave her a hug, she thought her friend needed it and she really did, with everything going on in her life, she needed a big warm embrace and she was glad she got it from her friend but she would have felt a lot better if it was from Lothaire, but she felt relieved hugging Anne, it was enough for her.

Anne saw her off as she boarded a taxi and watched her leave.

"Follow that taxi! This is our chance!" A male voice in a black van said to the driver and the van immediately followed it in speed.

The taxi was taking Larisa home when she saw a black van immediately pull up in front of them, blocking their way, the driver wanted to revise back but another van pulled up behind them, preventing their escape. She was startled by the sudden movement and fear hit her when she saw three men with masks hiding their identities coming out from the van and walking towards the taxi, the driver panicked in fear and dialed the police but they soon got to him and knocked him unconscious. She figured they were robbers and she quickly took out her phone with shaky hands, anyone would have called the police first but Lothaire was the first person on her mind.

Larisa was about to dial his number but it was too late, the strange men had already gotten to her as they opened the door and dragged her out, causing her to drop her phone in the process. She screamed hysterically as they dragged her out of the car and into the van. It was obvious they had come for her because the driver was left unconscious on the floor. She was being kidnapped!

Her heart thumped loudly in fear and her nerves skyrocketed with adrenaline as they overpowered her and shoved her into the van. She felt a hand place a cloth over her mouth as they held her still and she inhaled the drugs that had been soaked in the cloth. Her screams stopped and her eyelids became heavy, she tried to force them open but they betrayed her and she soon fell into the comforting embrace of emptiness.

"Let's move out!" A male voice commanded and the vans moved with speed.

Lothaire stared at the wall clock as he sat in the living room waiting patiently for Larisa, it was almost five but he didn't worry. His jaws ticked when the short hand moved to six, he wondered if she was in a hold up but something didn't seem right, he couldn't wait any longer, he felt uneasy and he had an unnerving feeling that didn't sit well with him. He phoned Anne immediately and his golden eyes burned when she told him that Larisa had left since one hour ago. His whole body shook in anger and fear and his grip on the phone tightened, making it crumble in tiny chunks. He dashed out of the house as he followed her scent, he knew she was in danger, as a result of how strong the mating bond was, he could feel her fear and every second made him angrier, his blood burned like lava and his aura darkened. He would rip whoever put her in danger into thousand pieces, he would pour out his wrath on whoever dared to lay a finger on her. He was angry but he also felt fear that she was in danger and at that moment, her safety was his top priority.

It didn't take long for him to reach the site where she was last seen. He saw the cab with the driver lying on the floor unconscious. He picked up the man from the ground roughly and the unconscious man slowly regained consciousness. The man's heart flew to his mouth when he saw a pair of angry golden eyes staring into his.

"Where is she?!!" Lothaire growled angrily, his whole body shook in immense fear and anger.

"W..Who?" The driver stuttered, unaware of who the angry man was or who he was talking about. Lothaire realized she was being kidnapped as he observed the place. The doors were left open and her phone was on the floor as well as her belongings.

"The woman you picked up!! Who took her?!" Lothaire growled lowly between gritted teeth, he was fast losing patience and his rational thinking, all he could think about was Larisa and getting her to safety.

"I..I don't know...So....Some men took her..." The man stuttered uncontrollably in fear, he shoved the man aside, knowing he had no use for him. It was clear someone had targeted Larisa but who and why? He would find out soon and he would unleash his wrath on them as they dared to kidnap his wife.
