“Damn it.” I ground my teeth loudly. Every step was unbearably painful. I had to use a wall to support myself. I glanced across to look at the floor number, and also kept an eye out for the heartless men who had disappeared. At the very least they should have told me what they were here for or where they went.

I did not care whether I was left alone or not. I had been left alone all my life.
