1.2 I have fallen

Shu XinYi was impressed at Akihiko's determination, how come Akihiko thinks that everything Haruto does is somehow related to him even when Haruto was just doing it. "Aah what a pure narcissist, Snow, He even thinks that without him Haruto would definitely fail. Even if it was the real Hauto he would still be selected. A narcissist with no Karmic retribution this really is a messed up world." Shu XinYi had really never seen someone go as far as break their boyfriends hand just because they didn't give them enough attention and the other protagonist would go so far to seduce someone taken and feed him lies to become famous, are the protagonist even human?

Snow heard his master's thoughts and replied "Yes Master the protagonists have a human source code, and so they have a human consciousness, But humans are fully capable of doing something like this. This is the reason why the protagonist became the protagonist in this world and the world was successfully completed achieving non probability. You won't find many worlds like this since in these worlds the protagonists are always human and many of them would not consciously harm others. But many humans like that do exist."

Shu XinYi wanted to refute and say that he would never do something so scummy, and he thought of other things and shut up. Well whatever everyone has their own moral code I have mine too if someone is scummy to me, I would be scummy to them, a simple moral code. "Why are only the protagonist in control of their consciousness and not cannon fodder like me or other humans present?" This was something Shu XinYi wanted to ask after entering this world.

"Master the purpose of these world has something to do with the protagonist achieving non probability and becoming a higher existence without being controlled or else it won't be counted, but they still need to be guided through the path laid out for them, so using other humans as cannon fodder or even normal NPC's as side characters, they are made to follow the road to becoming a higher existence. If the protagonist in their consciousness, decides to follow the path laid out, and suffers what he suffers, and does what he does to become the protagonist only then would a world be completed, meaning the world has achieved non probability. That's why not many worlds are completed." Snow told Shu XinYi.

That explains why the protagonist is a scummy narcissist. It's for the sole reason that only a scummy narcissist can be a protagonist in this world. "How come everyone around the protagonist just plays their role and doesn't doubt themselves or even know that they are controlled?" If that wasn't the case then these worlds wouldn't be able to function, Shu XinYi knew that, but he still asked.

Snow said after evaluating "Master even if their are not consciousness are controlled they still behave like they would consciously do, those humans are placed in these worlds specifically where their characters are in line with their original personality. So they think of this as real life because everything is seemingly consistent. If an external source doesn't inform them of the hidden inconsistencies they would happily live their part as if it's their own life, since they have memories of only this life."

Shu XinYi had face full of black lines thinking about all the times he was forced to play a scum villain or a ra*ist and thought about what Snow said about them being in place of someone inclined with their original personality. He refused to acknowledge Snow. What kind of answer was this. Snow sensed master's sour mood and continued "But that's only true for protagonists, not NPC's and cannon fodder who have human source code in this world. The cannon fodder are still humans, but their consciousness have been mostly wiped and renewed, so they become true scum or play their cannon fodder role diligently, which is only somewhat inline with their original personality. But since Master has control over his consciousness unlike others, Master still is capable of critical thinking according to his own self even though Master wasn't able to act according to his own conscience, since your source code (Consciousness) was controlled."

Shu XinYi was satisfied with the answer "Thank God for your update then, If it wasn't because of your emergency update my source code would still be controlled by others."

Shu XinYi felt like he wanted to ask something more from Snow, something obviously very suspicious but at this moment Akihiko came into his room. Snow secretly sighed in relief if Master asked any questions related to that, It could only formulate new lies because of the secret function his creator assigned him.

It was already 9 30 in the evening and Haruto was in his room resting early for tomorrow's selection match. In these two days Haruto had been practicing with only him and Akihiko was assured by his performance, that he would definitely bomb tomorrow's selection without his help. When he entered the room the lights were closed and Haruto was resting on the study table with his head on his left hand. Some of his hair were fallen like silk on his forehead. The study table was placed in front of the window and the moonlight was making crystal like reflections on his black shiny hair, highlighting his pale slightly pink lips. Haruto looked like he was peacefully sleeping, It created a serene almost warm atmosphere for Akihiko.

Akihiko originally came here to wish him good luck for tomorrow telling him that he should fully rely on him, he was even excited about the pained reaction Haruto would make when he knew he had to play without him. But seeing Haruto now, so relaxed, like he was fully dependent on him and didn't worry about tomorrow's match, Akihiko's heart was squeezed he felt a little uneasy. He slowly brushed a strand of Haruto's hair almost subconsciously and thought if he sleeps like this, his arm would be numb in the morning, before he could clear his own thoughts about why he was caring towards this manipulating bastard he saw Haruto open his eyes.

Akihiko retracted his hands back and Haruto looked at him in surprise. Shu XinYi was obviously pretending to sleep to see what this narcissist would do, but this perverted bastard was planning on two timing. Although Haruto and Akihiko were still "dating" Akihiko had promised Ishida that he would break up with him before going to the competition arena in country C with him. But for now even if he was always disgusted by Haruto he continued to act. Still he would rarely take the initiative to be romantic, since he firmly believed that Haruto was playing with him and manipulating him, and he also wanted to be loyal to Ishida. So for him to show this affection was really out of line.

Besides Shu XinYi was also disgusted by that scum protagonist, although he had to admit he was SERVING looks and more the kind Shu XinYi liked to dine on. But the kind of personality the protagonist was number 3rd on the list of the worst personalities in Shu XinYi's list. "Akihiko why are you here shouldn't you be resting?" Shu XinYi said in his sleepy voice and then yawned indicating he wanted to sleep, so please get your butts out of my room.

Witnessing a tear stained yawn and the whisper like melodious voice confronting him, Akihiko was a little taken aback, how come this person is able to make such an innocent expression."Ah, I wanted to make sure you rest well, don't be nervous about tomorrow, I will be there with you okay." Akihiko said what he came here with the intention to say and continued "Go sleep on your bed, you will be more comfortable that way" seeing Haruto obediently walk over to the bed and lie down, Akihiko was satisfied for some reason. Then he left after saying good night.

The next morning Shu XinYi didn't go to the training field directly but entered the locker room first. Akihiko was standing there in wait and as soon as he saw Haruto walk in, he went over with a helpless expression and said "I don't know what to do Haruto, the trial organizer announced in the morning that only players who haven't been selected as a sponsor are allowed to participate, " at this he paused and looked at Haruto making a confused expression and continued "I tried to argue with them to make an exception for us, but they didn't budge. I really wanted to be there with you today" His acting was really becoming better with time Shu XinYi thought. He made a nervous expression for Akihiko to see and replied "umm it's okay Akihiko I will still try my best, you don't have to worry too much for me and even if I fail, and I am unable to accompany you, please be happy for me because I am already happy enough that you are selected" he then patted Akihiko's head and saw his disbelieving eyes and joked to lighten the mood, "Even if I am not with you in the court I will cheer you on from the audience, that is enough for me."

Akihiko saw Haruto not angry or even displeased instead comforting him and telling him he would still be there for him even as an audience. Akihiko was in a daze he really didn't understand Haruto, if he just wanted to use him would he go as far as depending on him and even comforting him like he really loved him? Could I bring such benefits to him that he still hangs on to me?

Shu XinYi knew that Akihiko's insanely narcissistic brain would still be making everything about himself when Haruto was just being a good boyfriend and trying his best. Ishida who saw this interaction from afar smiled, it seemed like his tamed dog was being disloyal, it was time to tame another one, he even had a target in mind. Shu XinYi was unaware of Ishida's fickleness but if he did know it wouldn't come as surprising. What true love? Isn't this just two scums joining to make an even bigger scum as one?

The International championship in this world was relatively simple, 16 different countries were to send a single team of 12 players, country A was one of those countries. Those 12 players could be sponsored by one or multiple sponsors or just be funded by the government. Country A had a total of 4 sponsors, one was the academy which had 4 slots for sponsor players and the remaining 8 were divided unequally between the rest 3 sponsors. The rest 3 sponsors were big business corporations since the international championship got a lot of coverage from the media, so they would have various benefits from sponsoring players. As of now, 8 players had been selected, 4 from the academy, and the other 4 randomly by the other sponsers while 4 slots were still empty.

The team from each country after being selected would then go to country Z, where the championship would take place. There, they will train with their team and with other teams with their assigned coaches for 2 months and then were the official matches. The academy sent most of the players for these international championships since it had the most talented players but other academy or club members could take part in the selection trials too. The selection trials today had 4 different teams, one being the academy's, participating. It was essential for Shu XinYi to be selected and give his best performance to atleast be selected by one of the three sponsers.

The selection trials were in the academy's basketball court. Haruto and rest of the players that were lined up, entered the court arena. The coach had already informed them of their positions and matches in the last two days, although there would be another shooting guard, other things were the same. The first match was between team 1 and 2, the winner didn't really matter in these matches what mattered was individual play and the understanding a player had with his team. The sponsors or people from their companies were here to observe, they not only looked at the play but also model potential.

Shu XinYi looked around and found the sponsors, along with the academy dean there were 6 people in total sitting on a single table. 2 were those who wrote down points and penalties, they were veteran sportsmen and had a good eye. The sponsors had assigned them to make evaluation for their selection. One sitting on the table was the academy dean. The last 3 were the sponsors.

There was a middle-aged man with a well-kept beard probably in his late 30s he was sharp like a hawk, that was to be expected if he is someone from a big corporation. In the middle was an elegant young lady wearing a black dress she was really beautiful and many had eyes on her. But she seemed to be looking at the young man in the last seat.

"Hey isn't that the jj corporation's CEO, he really is talented, to be able to become the CEO at the young age of 24 and even now 2 years later the company stocks have only increased in value." Shu XinYi heard a boy from the audience near him say. "Yes, and he is so handsome too, pity he is too cold for his own good. The daughter of the yama group, Anzu, has her eyes set on him, she even followed him here dressing like that to make him notice" His female friend replied enthusiastically.

Shu XinYi was interested in this side story and looked at Anzu who was eyeing the man beside him, but the man was indifferent. He looked around 26 years old and was dressed in all black clothes. He had dark brown hair which were parted to the left more than halfway through. Not only that, but he had a stern look on his face, the angular mildly thick eyebrows were slightly raised and there was a barely noticeable frown. The young man was rotating a pen in between his fingers at a fast pace like he was thinking or evaluating something. His sharp Phoenix eyes were inducing hostility and coldness, inviting anyone who wanted to approach to get out of the way. Seeing the muscular handsome built and the sharp eyes Shu XinYi was dazed for a while and thought, I have fallen. This was the first time he felt something so strong.

"Snow Snow, have you ever seen someone look that perfect? Even the protagonist can't compete with him, I want to be noticed by that handsome CEO, but I don't even know how I look. Tell me, how do I look?" Shu XinYi was having a short circuit in his brain and Snow scrunched its imaginary nose. Although master often fawns over handsome men with the built similar to that of the young CEO, this was the first time Master had actual mental fluctuations. Was the CEO really that handsome Snow wondered, meh It's not a one in a million beauty. But still could be counted as one in a hundredth thousand. Snow refused to acknowledge Master Since anything It said wouldn't matter to Master.

Shu XinYi was too busy trying to perfect his posture and didn't notice his own weird behavior. He thought he should perform really well since the CEO is watching and for the first time in his life he got performance anxiety and his palms started sweating. Akihiko saw his nervous expression and concluded that he was scared to play in court without his help and mentally confirmed that the previous feat in the locker must be a farce. He scoffed in contempt.

Shu XinYi finally acknowledged this strangeness in his behavior and thought, why am I so nervous? that is just some random stranger I am attracted to, right now I should focus on playing and getting selected by any of the sponsors and later on I'll deal with the Mr. Handsome CEO.

Shu XinYi couldn't tell if he wasn't straight, or he just didn't like anyone in general, that lady is so pretty he should at least give her some face, but he was sitting there not even acknowledging her and only spinning his pen. No No No The game focus on the game, Shu XinYi constantly reminded himself to prevent his thoughts from straying.

The first match was over and team 2 lost by 12 points it wasn't an optimal play but who knows the sponsors judging criteria. Team 2 moved to join the audience and team 1 sat down to rest. The academy's team 4 and team 3 got on the court and all players shook hands. 10 remained on the court and took their positions while the others sat outside the court. Shu XinYi also sat outside the court he wasn't playing in the first quarter as advised by coach and only observed the play. The whistle sounded, and the ball was thrown in the air.
