It became a little easier to speak after a few days. Well, no wonder really, the Captain tended to me with so much care, I fell ill to it. Neither as Alex nor as myself have I been filled to the brim with care like this; floating on the clouds when my body can't even walk. Not once did he sigh, or express how tired he was. Before every meal, he'd ask me if I had any problems with the things in the meal, I'd obviously say no, I never had preferences with food.
I asked him why doesn't he tell Larry to cook, so he said, "He doesn't know how to handle food for a patient, I am teaching him though, so he can cook for you when I am gone." I broke down at his reply, something just fell apart at that moment. There wasn't any apparent reason for my heart to deflate, yet it did, and I couldn't do anything about it. My eyes were covered thankfully, so no one saw, but .. I think he knew.
