Honestly, I had already missed the ideal moment to join the conversation. Normally, I would just join them, but for some reason, I felt it would be awkward now, even though they didn't know I was listening. That didn't change the fact that I knew I had overheard them.

So, I stayed seated a bit further away, listening to the conversation. For some reason, I felt like a stalker, but to be honest, I was just waiting for a good moment to approach, as long as the conversation wasn't in an awkward spot like it was a few seconds ago.

"Speaking of which, Noah is running late. Did something happen?"

Ellen commented. Ilya briefly lifted her head; she didn't seem to be looking at anything in particular, but unfortunately, that ended up being in my direction.
