Chapter 387 Shiller is in Big Trouble?_6

He sighed, gave Shiller a once-over, and said, "I didn't expect to be here to treat you. What's wrong? Please describe your symptoms."

"Professor, don't be like this, I haven't taken a test in a long time," Shiller said, before spotting another figure. He walked over and said, "Samantha, you got the invitation too?"

"Doctor Shiller? I didn't expect to see you here. Don't tell me, you're the patient for this consultation?"

"Exactly, who knows what Stark was thinking?"

Stark peered into the room from outside, to which Steve asked, "Are you sure this is a professional consultation? It feels more like a reunion."

Stark sighed, saying, "It's natural. The top people in a certain circle either graduated from a few schools, or are classmates, alumni, teacher-student relationships, but it doesn't matter, as long as they can treat."

However, they soon heard more conversation from the doctors inside the room.

"Samantha, has your OCD improved? I recall when we last spoke, you said you'd adjusted your medication. How did that go?"

The blonde doctor shook her head, saying, "Don't remind me, I was a little busy that period and didn't stick to my medicine schedule, so it worsened slightly. But it's much better now."

"By the way, is Hope still in the mental hospital in Los Angeles? Haven't his family ever considered transferring him?"

"He's doing fine in Los Angeles. His doctor is the professor who taught him basic psychology. He got to deepen his studies while hospitalized; I wish I could be that fortunate."

"Hey, Shiller! Over here, Professor Tiel is looking for you!"

After Shiller walked over, the old professor adjusted his glasses, saying, "Stark inviting us here isn't for treating your loneliness. Your symptoms don't need treatment; let me guess, your anxiety has worsened?"

"A little bit, but it's not serious. They probably want to treat my multiple personality disorder this time."

"Multiple personalities? When did you develop that?" The African American doctor Tim looked at him, "Do you remember Anjiele? He called me a few days ago saying his multiple personality disorder has improved a lot. Back in school, he always lost things because of it. Remember the dance? He almost lost his dance partner."

Talking about it, they all started laughing. The somewhat frail doctor said, "I guess, Stark inviting us here shows he has absolutely no understanding of psychology and psychiatry. Laymen always panic and consider any mental disorder to be incurable."

"Nothing we can do about it, many people still have misconceptions about mental health treatment," the old professor sighed, "You study hard and specialize to eliminate prejudice…"

Outside the door, Stark said to Steve, "I guess this is more a self-help group meeting than a reunion."

"Damn it, can't we be psychologists without being sick ourselves?"

"This is completely ridiculous." Steve concluded, "It seems they are frequently treating each other, but nobody's getting any better…"

Stark rubbed his forehead, saying, "Let it go, this method isn't going to work. We should seek help from more professional people."

That afternoon, Stark and Steve arrived at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. When they explained their intentions to Charles, to their surprise, Charles shook his head and rejected their request.

Steve sighed, saying, "Professor, I understand that you mutants don't want to get involved in these sorts of things, it might cause unnecessary trouble, I also understand that the situation for mutants isn't great…"

"It's not because of that." Charles denied, "Actually, I'd love to help, but not in this instance."

"Why?" Stark asked, clearly perplexed.

"You want me to treat Shiller, but in my opinion, he can't be treated."

"What do you mean?"

"His condition...ah, no, it can't be termed as a condition, it's more of a situation that has exceeded the realm of disease. It's more like a superpower."

"You can't expect me to cure a superpower, just as I couldn't cure your intelligence, or his strength. It's unnecessary."

"A superpower?" Stark and Steve looked at each other, seeing confusion in each other's eyes. They didn't understand what kind of mental disorder could be termed a superpower.

"Perhaps you may not understand if I explain it this way. If you can get his consent, maybe I can show you why."

"He said he is willing to cooperate in his treatment. I think we don't need to ask him again."

Charles shook his head again, "If you really want to do this, then go to bed on time tonight. I will come to you then."

That night, Stark was in the dream Shining Alliance Base, he successfully met Charles, but Steve was nowhere to be seen. He asked Charles, "Wasn't he supposed to come too?"

"Yes, but... it seems he has some insomnia, do you think I should give him a hand…"

"Absolutely no problem, he definitely won't hold a grudge."

"Alright then." As soon as Charles finished speaking, a bewildered Steve appeared in the Dreamland Base. He held his forehead, saying, "I must be exhausted, otherwise why would I dream of Stark in a dream?"

Stark snorted, saying, "As I said, not everyone has the power to control their consciousness in their dreams."

Over the next few minutes, Charles explained the situation to Steve. Steve buried his face in his hands while sitting on the sofa, asking, "So, it turns out we are indeed dreaming, and we have to find Doctor Shiller through the dream?"

"Exactly. I called him earlier today, and he agreed to allow us to visit him in the evening."

"Visit? Why can't he come here?"

"You'll understand soon enough."

Then, Charles waved his hand, they found themselves outside the base. Thick white fog enveloped them, and the enormous steel city made by Stark continually receded from their view, as they sped through the dreamworld.

Soon, a small point appeared on the horizon. Stark squinted, looking in that direction.

A few seconds later, they quickly approached that spot. As they got closer, Stark and Steve both saw an incredibly tall tower extending up into the sky.

In a blink, they arrived in front of the tower. Charles stepped forward and knocked on the door. The towering structure opened with a creak, revealing Shiller in a white outfit. Charles sighed with relief.

He muttered to himself, "I'm glad it's not that previous dome-headed person, he simply wouldn't shut up..."

Stark and Steve entered, and were immediately blown away by the sight that met them inside.

It was a massive, bustling metropolis teeming with human-filled scenes—an enormous, towering skyscraper.

Endless floors stretched as far as the eye could see.

At that moment, Stark and Steve finally understood what Charles meant by a superpower.

Turning around, Shiller closed the door, spread his arms, and said,

"Welcome to my Thought Palace."
