Song Zhuyu had hoped to visit the baby again later that day, but apparently he wasn't the only one with such an intention, albeit for a different reason altogether. It had been years since the village welcomed a new member, so all of them were extremely excited to see the newborn, especially the elderly. They literally crowded in front of the house, but Ma Xiaocai, who took up the role of a guard, stopped them and said that the baby was not feeling well, thus was not suitable for visitation.
Eventually, the villagers could only turn back in disappointment, leaving an open space for Song Zhuyu and Chen Ru to step forward.
"Mr. Song and Mr. Chen?" Ma Xiaocai appeared caught off guard by their presence. "Are you here to see the baby as well? Apologies, but—"
"I know, I heard you said that he's feeling unwell," Song Zhuyu cut her off with a polite tone. "May I know how he's doing now?"
