Chapter 54: Alias's Galore & Vortex Vanquisher

Arriving back at the Owl House Athena and I went inside and then split up.

While she went to her room I went to the kitchen to get a snack.

A sandwich in hand I headed back towards my room, but as I did so Rogue entered through the front door.

I turned towards him. "Hey Rogue, welcome back...." I said, trailing off.

Why?

Because Rogue has this stupid grin on his face. Also he looks like he's glowing.

Seeing this I put a smirk on my face.

"Oi Rogue, looks like something good happened." I said.

As I did so he snapped out of his daze and looked at me. "No, nothing particularly good happened today." He said.

"Oh, then what was with that stupid grin on your face just now?" I asked him.

"There was nothing, you're imagining things. Gotta go!" Rogue said.

He then ran past me and headed towards his room.

As he did so I laughed.

Yeah, something good definitely happened to him.

Well I'm glad.

We are in the springtime of youth after all. So we should enjoy ourselves.

I continued onward to my room, thinking about what could've made Rogue just so happy as I did so.

Sitting on one of the couches in the living room I waited with the others for Athena to return from Denatus.

These past two weeks have flown by in the blink of eye.

Between patrols, preparing for the expedition, and various other things none of us have really had time to sit around and think.

Then before we knew it the time for things to begin finally arrived.

As I thought about this I heard the front door open.

Then a few moments later Athena entered the foyer and all our eyes turned to her.

"So, how did things go?" I asked.

"I think they went pretty well actually." Athena mused. "First off Gaul, Leon, and Morax your alias's have not changed. Now then, for everyone else. First up, the ladies. Ryuu, your alias is now The Gale." She said.

Ryuu nodded.

Again, looks like Ryuu is on the same track from canon.

"Milli, your alias is Songstress." Athena told her.

Yeah, that's a good fit for Millhiore. I mean, she loves to sing and her magic is vocally based. Then there is the fact her new alias is named after the skill she obtained after this most recent level up.

[Songstress]

A skill which increases the effect of any magic Millhoire performs if she sings the chant instead of just speaking it like others who use magic do.

And with how good she is at singing this skill has made her even deadlier.

"Echidna, your alias is Avarice Witch." Athena told her.

Avarice means greed.

So they have named Echidna the greedy witch.

That suits her perfectly. Almost a bit too perfectly.

The girls nodded at their new alias's.

"Alright then, now for the boys." Athena spoke. "Ryner your alias is Pythagoras."

Nice one. In my last life Pythagoras was a brilliant man who created various mathematical equations and was credited as a great mind.

Ryner is much the same.

"Rogue, your alias is Shadow Lord." Athena told him.

Oof! Rogue got a chunni as nickname. But it fits him.

Ryner and Rogue nodded at their nicknames.

Which finished things up. Since both William and Diluc are still level one, neither of them have the right to an alias yet.

After they did so we all split up and went back to our business.

We are leaving for an expedition tomorrow after all.

As the sunlight came in through my bedroom window I got up from my bed, a smile on my face.

Today is the day we start our guild assigned expedition.

It's also the day I begin using the equipment Kaijin created for me.

He just delivered it yesterday, so I haven't had any time to practice or train using the weapon he made me.

But I feel things will work out.

Getting up I moved to my personal bathroom and handled business.

Once it was over I moved and slipped on the armor Kaijin made for me.

It is fabric interwoven with fragments of the Goliath tooth, making it hard and sturdy but still easy to move in.

After slipping on my new dungeon gear I moved to my full-length mirror and examined myself.

I nodded.

"This is perfect." I said. Kaijin really did an astounding job creating just what I asked for.

By the way, my new armor for the dungeon looks exactly like the robes Morax wore as the Geo Archon in the Genshin Impact series.

I mean, since I am basically Morax is most other aspects I might as well go all the way.

Including the weapons I use.

Moving over to the weapon case I opened it.

In doing so I saw a 2.5 meter (8.2 feet) spear inside. It's tip died gold in color.

My new spear, which I have named Vortex Vanquisher.

Picking it up I swung it around for a moment, testing the weight and my grip on it.

Feels perfect.

Closing the weapons case I secured my room.

I then left it and went to meet the others in front of the mansion.

When I did so everyone turned to look at me.

"Wow, cool weapon. Morax." Diluc told me.

"Why thank you." I told him. Slamming the tip of my spear into the ground. "It's name is Vortex Vanquisher by he way." I told them.

"Such a cool name." Gaul said.

"Yeah, it sure is." I said. I then looked around and saw a certain someone was late.

"Looks like Ardi's still not here." I said.

"So rude. And she's the one who asked to come along." Echidna said. "Fufu, looks like I'll have to give her some punishment when she arrives." She spoke, licking her lips as she did so.

We all chose to ignore her.

Twenty minutes passed before Ardi arrived. An apologetic smile on her face as she did so.

"Sorry, sorry I'm late. Shakti wanted to double-check all my equipment and such before I left. Even though she did it last night. Honestly she's such a worrywart." Ardi quickly explained.

"Well alright." I said.

Since I know Ardi is telling the truth. Shakti acts more like a parent than an older sister from the interactions I've seen between the two of them.

But I guess that has to do with the age gap and the fact their parents died when Ardi was only two years old. Which she told us all a while ago.

Raising Ardi from practically when she was a baby, it's no wonder Shakti ended up more like a mother than a sister.

Wait, does that make her a Milf then?

A question that must be answered indeed.

"Even if what you are saying is true. You were still late, and thus must recieve a bit of punishment." Echidna said. She then started moving closer to Ardi, her fingers moving about as she did so. "Don't worry, this won't hurt at all." She said.

"Leon." I said.

She simply nodded.

Leonmitchelli then moved to Echiidna and smacked her on the back of the head and into the ground.

All of us ignoring her moan of pleasure after this happened.

Well, this definitely confirms she's a masochist. Even more so than me.

"Ok enough playing around, let's get a move on." I said.

Everyone nodded.

Picking Echidna up like a sack Leonmitchelli placed her over her left shoulder.

Once that was done we bid farewell to Athena and Reina and headed for the dungeon.

On our way to complete our first guild assigned expedition.

I can't wait to see what's in store for us on this quest.
