Part 21

It wasn't a very pleasant day for me, even though I woke up in a good mood and my body didn't feel a bit tired or uncomfortable. But who would enjoy going to a new school on the first day, all that excitement about a new place and people, not knowing everything that was going on and how it was going to go. My adult mind of course overrode most of the discomfort, but it also traitorously told me that this would not be an ordinary school, but a school for children for whom the word "gifted" would not fully describe their talent. And after all, I'm going there, too, and not even by accident. I don't even know whether I should be happy about it or sad.

These thoughts along with many others were going around in my head as I made breakfast and also woke up ------, but looking at her sleepless face and the way she rubbed her eyes because she was woken up, completely dispelled these thoughts. So, we were able to have a normal breakfast without any tension on either my or her part. At the same time watching her sitting on the chair and chewing food cheek by jowl like a hamster while moving her legs and head from side to side with joy. It's hard to imagine this little girl literally living in a litter box.

After walking her out of the house since she had to leave early to make it, I began quietly packing for school myself. So, as I left the house, I slowly made my way toward Hope Peak.

When I got there, I noticed a significant difference from a couple of days before, namely the people. A large number of people walking in different directions or chatting with each other. There were certainly more students among them, when there were only a few adults. There were also a few people seen among them who were also not well oriented here so one could assume that they were my future classmates.

After another look at the card, I was given and again making sure that I was placed in class 74, I went to the classroom that Kirigiri-san had told me about. On my way to it, I looked around looking at all the students, which they basically did to me as well. Looking at them it's easy to understand that the school doesn't have a certain school uniform and everyone dresses however they want and for the most part they were of course trying to stand out the direction of their Ultimates, unlike me and you can't tell from me what I'm aiming at.

And it was even easier to explain the fact that people were looking at me. I was too young for this place. There were certainly short people in this world who could be mistaken for children, but I looked too childish, which naturally made most people question me. Though I have to give them all credit, not one of them came up to me to ask if I was lost or anything.

When I reached the office with the proud number 74 on it, I immediately opened the door and went inside. I was presented with an almost identical classroom from the game. Single desks, a pulpit, and a huge blackboard with a clock hanging over it, and the walls were painted the color of a giraffe, that is, yellow with dark yellow spots. I thought it was just for the style of the game itself, but apparently, I was wrong and it was just some fancy design of the academy itself. And I guess I don't have to explain the fact that the only difference was that there were no huge iron plates with disproportionate bolts on the windows.

The next unexpected thing for me was the fact that the entire classroom was completely packed with people and there was only one empty seat visible, although it was still twenty minutes before the start of the lesson. But it seems that as far as I remember, there are dormitories for students here, not everyone is as exceptional as me, so it was easy enough to explain why there were so many people here and I came last, although usually it was the other way around.

Ignoring the others and the looks I got, I walked over to the only empty seat, which was probably reserved for me. The most disgusting thing was that this seat was in the second row from the left, right by the windows, well at least something wasn't molested, but the fact that I was sitting practically at the beginning of the class didn't give me peace of mind.

Sitting in my seat and honoring the interested stares and one look of rage that was directed at me and to my regret it was from my neighbor in the front row to my senses.

I don't know what it must be like in other classrooms, but here it was a little quiet and felt like a strange atmosphere. Maybe it was because someone feels superior to others and doesn't want to talk, and others just never met their peers so they don't know how to behave. But I think that all of this will disappear after the teacher comes and confirms that we are all assigned to this school for a reason.

(From the author: I'm not sure of the anime's timeline. Yasuke was in 77th grade and Junko was in 78th. It was also said that they met in elementary school, so I don't know why they were scattered between classes and there would be problems because of that).

But about fifteen minutes later, the bell rang, which made practically the whole class shudder, and even the guy in front of me, like a rock, let himself twitch, and a minute later the door opened, bringing the atmosphere of tension back to the classroom.

In the meantime, the man who had entered the classroom walked to the center of the room with a relaxed gait, and I decided to take a closer look at him. It was a man of medium height, dressed in a white suit and a green shirt with the top button undone, along with a black vest and a light blue tie, and a white hat with a black ribbon as a decoration was resting on his disheveled blond hair.

His face was completely calm, his blue eyes showing that his calm was not fake. Also, his face was adorned with a thin mustache and beard. And according to my humble conclusion he had obviously had a little bit to drink already and a slight blush on his cheeks proved this, or he simply had not sobered up yet.

Meanwhile the man was already standing in the center of the room in front of the lectern and was already looking around the classroom with his calm eyes, stopping his gaze on each student for a while. Looking at the folder he had brought with him, as if convinced of something, he looked at the class again and began to speak.

"My name is Koichi Kizakura, and from now on I am your class teacher, and you are now the 74th class of Hope Peak Academy." - he said with a seriousness not to be expected from his appearance, but... "Any questions?" - he said quietly while falling back in his chair holding his head.

He looked at the class through the hand that was covering his face, looking around the class again he wanted to say something, but he was interrupted by a voice I heard behind me.

"I've got one!" - said a gruff and overly loud voice.

At this the owner of this voice jumped up from his seat, nearly knocking over the desk he was sitting in front of. And my senses told me that it most likely referred to me.

"Sigh." - To this Koichi-san only sighed doomfully. "Yeah? And you..."

"Juzo Sakakura!" - the loud guy replied proudly and continued with undisguised fury in his voice, "What's he doing here?"

For the sake of quenching my interest, I turned around to look at whoever he was pointing at.

What did I expect, though. It was obvious he was pointing at me.

He was a tall, tan guy, I think he was taller than everyone in the class. Also, you couldn't help but notice that he was pretty muscular, which indicated that his Ultimate background was in sports or fighting. His clothes consisted of a weighty black jacket, white tank top, and black pants. He also had medium-length dark green hair, and his lilac eyes, which I thought were always frowning, looked at me with even more fury.

The only thing left for me to do was to point at myself as if I didn't understand his innuendo, though at the level he pointed out it could only be me. And that must have made him even angrier, or he had a clear problem controlling his anger, since he came at me sharply and took me by the collar while bringing my face closer to his. When he looked into each other's eyes, he apparently did not find what he wanted in them and pulled me away to a distance of an outstretched arm, and with the other hand he began to swing, obviously to introduce his fist to my face.

As much as I hated to admit it, there was nothing I could physically do in that situation. Of course, I could have put a scalpel in his hand, but I think that would be too much of a decision. It was a good thing I wouldn't feel it, so I had to keep looking him in the eye.

When he decided something for himself, he swung his fist in my direction with a speed and force that was hard for me to stop. But somewhere in the middle of the way, unexpectedly for me, but clearly expected by him, his fist was stopped by another hand that flew out of my back, which twitched when it met this guy's hand because of the force that had been put into the punch. Of course, one would think that it was an evil spirit, which is my embodiment of spiritual energy, but to my great regret it was the wrong world and the hand was quite human and on my humble guess we can assume that it was the hand of the person who was sitting in front of me. So, the only thing I had to do in this hanging state was to turn around and look at the man who had saved me from losing a couple of thousand health units.

It was also a tall, pale-skinned guy who was a few inches short of the first guy. He was wearing a black jacket with a brooch that was identical to mine, a white shirt with a black tie, and I should also note that there was not a single flaw in all his clothes, they were perfectly fitted and even better groomed.

His face was still a little paler than it needed to be and it was hard to tell if it was because of illness or just his anime style. He also had cool silver short hair with bangs over his eyes, and his eyes, which to my surprise weren't wearing glasses were blue which drained cold, along with his whole face. I also have to say that his eyes crossed Juzo and if this were an anime, there would be lightning running between them now.

"What are you doing?" - Already without rage, but with obvious anger, Juzo said.

The guy was silent and only squeezed the guy's hand harder.

"You..." - hissed something to himself. "...You bastard," and began to press harder on the blond man's hand.

"Kyosuke Munakata." - Quietly and a little imperiously said the guy who had just introduced himself to Kyosuke, and I recognized his name. "That's my name if you don't get it, and I'm not going to let you pick fights in my class."

"When did it get to be yours, Kyosuke." - stretched out his name to Juzo.

When he started to answer something further, I realized that this guy didn't want to defend me, he just didn't want to let rules be broken. I guess his Ultimate is some kind of "Ultimate Judge" or "Ultimate Headman" since he likes to keep order so much. I think we'll get along with him.

Meanwhile, as I wondered who this guy was, the situation that led to this uncomfortable situation began to escalate even more. Juzo took Kyosuke by the collar while trying to lift him up, but he seemed to be doing pretty well, holding his arm with one hand while the other held me so that still hanging in the air I was pushing him with my body not of my own volition. Also, their faces were a few centimeters apart and already I could see the desire to punch each other, which was the most unpleasant thing, my face was between them, and at the same level.

I looked sideways at our new teacher, whose name I had already forgotten, trying to get some help from him, in principle I would not have refused moral help, but this guy was already asleep. And quite professionally at that, with his eyes open and looking right at us. Not much, I think, but it's impressive. Maybe he's an "Ultimate Slacker."

As they looked at each other, they didn't expect a third person to burst into their conflict. Pushing them both aside with shocked faces and in doing so wrenching me out of my arms and pressing me against his chest, I must say quite tangible and soft chest. Out of happiness I decided to look at my savior.

It was a girl who was considerably inferior to the boys, but still taller than me. Her clothes consisted of a blue dress with a white shirt, and there was already an apron on top of the dress. "Ultimate maid?" She had long, wavy red hair with mussed bangs and two strands in front, and her eyes, which blazed with righteous anger, were bright green.

From a purely male point of view, I had to say that she was very pretty. And if it weren't for ------ that would most likely kill her, and the significant age difference at this point, I would most likely try to do whatever it takes to marry her. But according to the anime genre, she'd most likely be with one of these guys and I'd be something like a younger brother. Well, I guess that's not a bad thing in this position either.

"What are you guys doing here?!" - she said with righteous anger as she looked at the two boys. "You almost scared that boy!"

"I..." - I tried to put something in.

"Don't worry!" - she said and pressed me even harder against her chest. "Those bad uncles won't do anything bad to you anymore. You'll be all right, just hold on to me."

"What are you...?" - Juzo tried to interrupt her as Kyosuke also looked at her with incomprehension.

"I'm Chisa Yukizome! Ultimate housekeeper!" well I wasn't far from the truth about her Ultimates. "And what are you guys up to here? Just like little kids fighting in the sandbox who didn't share a shovel."

"I'm an Ultimate Boxer," Juzo said with obvious pride. "And it just pisses me off that this guy is here. This is an elite academy that only invites Ultimate high school students, and this guy thinks it's some kindergarten."

"The Ultimate president of the student council." - Kyosuke clarified, as if casually.

"Maybe he just made a mistake." - Chisa interceded for me. "Or maybe he's a faculty member's son. Why come at him with your fists for no reason?" - Her voice was full of indignation at this point.

"Ahem," I cleared my throat, trying to draw attention to myself, since I was the only one who could stop this whole ridiculous situation.

Tapping on Chisa hands, who was still holding me, as if to hint that I should be let go, which she did, however, placing me gently on the ground, with the two guys watching these minor actions carefully.

"My name is Yasuke Matsuda," I said, looking at the three of them, "And I think I can say at this point that I am a 'Super High School Physician'. ...if you don't look at my age, of course. And here I am under legitimate circumstances."

"What..." - said an obviously shocked Juzo, who had incomprehension in his eyes, just like Kyosuke, only maybe not as openly. "Is Hope Peak so desperate that they've started recruiting underlings?"

"No..." - immediately came the voice of a man who seemed to be asleep. "It's just that Yasuke-kun skills impressed the entire academy, and we decided to accept him for training earlier than usual."

Yes, it was our class teacher, who was probably woken up by the noise and decided to stop the whole situation.

"But..." - Juzo tried to say something again, but...

"Not what, but." - Koichi-san immediately interrupted him. I remembered his name. "It's out of the question, so you'll just have to accept it."

He then stood up from his chair with visible difficulty and looked around the class again, but this time he clearly held his gaze too long on the four of us as troublemakers.

"What are you standing around for?" - he said, looking at us. "Take your seats, and I think I need to give some sort of opening statement?" - he asked toward the end.

We looked at each other again and went to our seats, with Kyosuke and Chisa helping me put my desk and chair, which were scattered halfway across the class, back in place because of the whole situation.

After everything was back to normal, he gave a little speech about the rules of the academy and our responsibilities, as well as going over the training, the layout of all the classes and places that are in the school grounds. However, it did not take him more than ten minutes, after which he went back to sleep on the table. However, this time no one dared to make a fuss and we all just waited for something until the end of all classes.

When our last bell rang, Koichi-san just got up from his seat as if he hadn't slept and asked to come with us. The whole class including me felt out of place, I guess they were expecting something different from this place too, but like we were told classes aren't necessary and the only thing to do is to wait for the annual exam and develop his talent. I think he already knows what to expect from all this, what normal student would attend a class of his own free will? Well, maybe there are some, but they're strange people... which is more likely to be me.

I looked at my watch and saw that ------ still had class and if I went to her now, I would wait an extra hour. So, I decided to go and look at the lab I had been assigned.

I stood up and looked around at the few people who were left in the classroom and left, but before I reached the door a few steps I heard a girl's voice say my name. I had no choice but to turn around and look at Chisa, who came up to me.

"Where are you going now?" - she asked excitedly, adjusting the strap of the bag she had on her shoulder. "Maybe you need an escort?"

"Thanks Chisa-san, but I don't want to make you babysit me." - I politely declined the offer.

"Hey!" - she clearly said with resentment. "What 'san' am I to you Yasuke-chan! Just calling me sis! And I wouldn't have any trouble helping you in any way."

"Then I won't refuse your offer Chisa-san." - I wouldn't accept her rules, to which she puffed her cheeks in resentment "But if it's really not hard for you, then I won't refuse the company. When I came here, I was told that an area would be set aside for me for my personal lab, so now I want to go and see it."

"All right! Let's go!" - she said with amusement in her voice.

Finally taking a few more steps and walking out of the classroom, we were about to head for the exit, but we were interrupted again by a voice, but this time a male voice.

"Excuse me." - Kyosuke said, but this time he had a slight smile on his face and, to my surprise, a frowning Juzo was standing next to him. "I'm sorry, but I overheard a little of your conversation and I was interested in the word 'lab' in it. So may I come with you."

"Yes, of course Kyosuke-san." - I didn't turn him down for no reason. He didn't seem like a bad guy, so I didn't mind him coming with us either.

After that, without any stops, our little train set off for the exit, and then on to the laboratory. And to my surprise, Juzo was also walking with us, and he was exuding his displeasure about being forced to come with us, even though no one had said a word about it to him.

All along the way we were able to talk to each other a little bit. That allowed me to get to know their personalities a little bit, which were not particularly different from what I had imagined. To my surprise, I must say that the three of them were pleasant to talk to. Kyosuke was quite an intelligent and educated person, so there were many topics to talk to him about. Chisa was a pretty easy person to talk to, you couldn't even say anything, I think she could keep the conversation going on her own. And even Juzo, who was silent most of the time and only occasionally inserted a word or two, seemed like a nice person, well, he was also easy to get off and fun to watch.

I think they were supposed to be a canonical trio of friends. The guy who brings them together, also depending on the circumstances he should be smart and strong, or just the main character, is Kyosuke.

A strong and quiet guy who was supposed to be always rough and seem to always be the bad guys, but in reality, he would be the most loyal guy who would value their friendship more than anyone else and protect them with his life. That, of course, was Juzo.

And the girl who was supposed to keep this trio warm and help them in their most difficult moments, well of course she was supposed to marry the main character, except Naruto ended up believing to the end that he would be with Sakura, but not fate or rather fans and big boobs interfered with that. And that girl, of course, was not me, but Chisa.

In all the time I had been thinking about it, though, we had already made it to the three-story light-filled building and, fortunately for me, it didn't take that long, only about ten minutes. In the meantime, I looked around the building, which was no different from the other buildings and the only thing that stood out was the large panoramic windows on the second floor.

I approached the double doors, which looked like iron doors. Seeing the electronic lock next to them, I remembered the plastic card Kirigiri-san had given me. Putting my hand into my pocket and as if taking out the card, I put it to the lock and it made a sound, and also the magnet stopped holding the door.

Without lingering long outside, I pulled the door toward me and opened it, I was dumbfounded.

Before my eyes appeared a vast three-story space. In some places you could even see the sheen of cleanliness that sometimes occurs in anime. Almost all the walls were filled with all sorts of equipment, even in my former hospital you couldn't find some of them, and it was also obvious that this lab had only recently been set up, so there was no doubt that everything in here was new, and one of the walls was filled with various test tubes of chemicals.

(From the author: honestly? I don't know what the lab is supposed to be equipped with, I didn't even find anything on the Internet, so it will be modest like this).

Taking a few steps forward still in the same shocked state I finally started to get my thoughts back in my head and with them my enthusiasm began to fade. I don't know why I need most of this, after all, with my skills it's mostly useless to me anymore. Even for healing people I might only need half of it. But I guess if they gave it to me for free, I shouldn't resent it. Maybe someone else could use it. It's not like I'm going to be alone in this lab, and I haven't gone up to the other two floors yet.

"So..." - the woman's voice hesitated a little. "And where is your lab Yasuke-chan?"

"We're already in it Chisa-san." - I answered immediately.

"WHAT!?!?" - Chisa and Juzo responded together too loudly.

"Don't lie!" - Juzo immediately began to be indignant. "A diaper like you couldn't be allocated a lab like this! Sure, all students are helped to develop their talents, but not that much!"

"I think..." - I hesitated. "That it's not all just for me alone. Of course, it's all my responsibility. But I'd rather be the head of the doctor's department than the sole proprietor. It's all a lot even for me."

"Huh?" - Juzo snapped at me incomprehensibly.

"Ahh." - I sighed. "As far as I know, there is no definite place for medicine in Hope Peak. And since I am an Ultimate Physician, which allows me to develop in any direction, I will be the best leader for all Ultimates who have talents focused on medicine, and I will develop myself in the process. Still, it doesn't matter how much of a genius I am, and only a machine can learn everything alone."

"..." - he made an incomprehensible sound. "I see."

"Yasuke-chan! You turn out to be so smart!" - Chisa said cheerfully, and pressed me against her huge watermelons. "I thought by your lab you meant a room, or something childish, not a whole building!" - I didn't see that, of course, but I was sure that if I looked at the others, I'd see signs in their eyes that they were thinking the same thing, too.

"Yeah yeah." - I tried to make a little sound, which, to my surprise, worked and they let me go. "Let's go see what else is out there."

We spent the next two hours walking around and looking at all three floors that were here. On the second floor the situation was no different than on the first floor, but there were several separate rooms that sort of hinted that this floor was more practical than theoretical. But also, the best part was that this floor had a nice recreation room with a big TV, a small kitchen that was already filled with food, and some comfortable chairs, into which Juzo immediately put his ass and stayed there until the end of our research.

The third floor, though it occupied most of the separate rooms, which were most likely reserved for personal research or the most dangerous, judging by the density of the walls. But there was also one strongly marked door that had a sign on it that said "Yasuke Matsuda" and logically it was my private office, which when I opened it didn't show anything special, but was just furnished with the most basic things, I guess the rest of everything would have to be arranged by me, which I certainly can't complain about.

So, I left with my spirits high again and a little shocked Chisa and Kyosuke, of course, not forgetting to take Juzo, who was already making his tenth sandwich and felt quite satisfied.

The trio took me to the exit, and went the other way, where they said the dorms were. Of course, it wasn't without shouts of surprise that I had been allocated my own house, but that didn't stop us from saying a warm goodbye to each other.

Glancing at my watch, I realized that it would soon be the end of classes at ------, and if I hurried up, I could make it to her. And I made it by the time ------ was standing at the exit and looking around. We hadn't even agreed that I would meet her today, she was able to figure out on her own that I was going to meet her. When she saw me, she started smiling and ran toward me.

"Hi." - I said to her while opening my arms to let her hug me.

"Hi!" - she replied with a smile.

"How was your day?" - I asked the question of interest and realized a rather interesting situation. This interval was the longest I'd been separated from ------ in more than a few hours, well not counting my work of course, but it was kind of a static moment.

"Good!" - she replied with a smile. "I've even made a few girlfriends!"

"Really? Tell me about it!" - I showed interest.

On the way home, she didn't stop to tell me about who she had met today, what she was doing, and how it went. Of course, it was not without the fact that I also shared everything that happened to me today.

For the rest of the day ------ was running around a little too much. I think she was enjoying finally getting into a new group and relaxing from everything that has happened over the past few weeks. Well, if she feels good, I don't mind, of course if she doesn't feel good about destroying the world, I just can't morally agree with that. But as it was for all the new developments in our lives, we fell asleep together, as always.

And the next morning was almost no different from the past. We got up as well, had breakfast, I escorted ------ and set off myself in the direction of Hope Peak, not even bothering to adjust the time to arrive first. I guess in an academy with a spare room, my presence would already be something of a no-brainer.

And just as I thought, when I got to class a few minutes before the bell, the classroom was practically empty and there were literally seven people sitting in it, and in my humble opinion these seven people just couldn't believe that you could not go to class, but to my happy surprise all the three of yesterday were there and even Juzo who seemed like the kind of guy who would happily skip class for nothing was there.

After saying hello to my new friends? I sat down in my seat between them, and as delusional as it sounds, Koichi barely made it to third period and looked at all the fools who had come today with amazement. I wonder if it's just him or if all the teachers at this academy are so irresponsible in their teaching.

As it turned out, most of the teachers weren't acting so irresponsible, but they weren't doing too much about our development either. But when the lesson was over, he said goodbye to us and at the same time hinted as if again that it was not necessary to go to class. So, in a contradictory mood the four of us again went to my laboratory, where we just sat in the break room playing console. There would be nothing wrong with me getting used to school for a while, rather than rushing in headfirst and studying, which is what I have been doing all my life. But I think you can say that a new chapter in my life has begun, so before that I need a little rest. A few hours later we again went our separate ways, they went to the dormitory and I went to meet ------.

This is pretty much how the next few weeks went, but I think any vacation has to come to an end. So, towards the end of these weeks, I started to set up my office and all the other floors for work, of course not without the help of my three new friends, who I can already without any embarrassment call them that.

Kyosuke and Juzo helped me carry all the heavy stuff and helped me reach places that I couldn't reach because of my height, and Chisa, as the "Ultimate Housekeeper", cleaned all three floors almost every day, so not a single speck of dust was visible even after a few weeks. On top of that, she cooked our meals. I don't need food, of course, but who doesn't mind a good meal?

To my surprise, the four of us were the only ones left to go to class, of course everyone was trying to develop in class since most of the time we were here alone and hardly anyone was teaching us. Kyosuke was reading something, Chisa was cleaning something in class, Juzo was practicing to the best of his ability, and I was staring at my laptop as usual.

Also, by the end of these few weeks, when the rest started to end, Kyosuke also decided to take things seriously and almost every day before class went and gathered all the students to the best of his ability. He was the "Ultimate President of the Student Council" for a reason, what kind of president would encourage students to skip classes? And then there's the Ultimate President.

I also knew that Juzo didn't relax in principle and went to the academy gym every day after our get-togethers and worked out.

I also made an attempt to find at least one person at the academy with a focus on medicine, but to my shock there was not a single person in the entire academy even close to the requirements, which upset me a little, but I think that such an Ultimate is really quite rare even among the talented students. So, I think it will be possible to look for students who can remotely fit too, the problem was that there weren't any either. So at least all this year I will be the only member of the "Peak of Hope Medical Department.", well at least not the only person there.

Also, in all this time I've gotten a few notifications of new relationships, but the last time I saw there next to the name ------, it just made me physically scared to see what was going on there. But I think that will not be anything terrible about not checking every time, well of course I have never used all the features of the system. But now I started to do it by choice.
