Xie Jianshen rose to his feet. He walked toward a tall, multi-tiered wooden rack that adorned the entire wall behind him. Various jugs and pots and vials of different sizes, colors, and types stood neatly on each level, albeit without any tags or descriptions.
This was Xie Jianshen's foolproof method to avoid thievery. He was the only person who knew the extent of his collection, shelf after shelf.
Xie Jianshen's hand moved toward the third shelf from the top. He removed a small, inconspicuous, brown clay pot from a neat row of similar pots, took off the lid, and then took a sniff at the content.
Once he was sure that it was indeed the item that he was looking for, he returned to his seat with the clay pot tightly clutched in his hand.
Zhang Fengxi stared at the clay pot with a dark expression.
"What is that?"
"The child is yours and Little Yu's," Xie Jianshen smoothened the ends of his sleeves. "I have no right to dictate your decision."
