Chunin Exams (2)

Shikamaru watched Kabuto walk away and a serious expression appeared on his face.

" That guy is dangerous, very dangerous we should keep our distance, him and those sound shinobi." Says Shikamaru.

" Yeah." Ino and Choji answered.

( Daiki)

" So you guys think your teams will finish before mine?" Daiki asked looking around at the other Jonin sensei in the room along with the third Hokage.

" If I remember correctly, hasn't my team beaten your team already?" Kakashi asked.

" Tch, The only time that will happen, they have grown a lot in the past couple of weeks." Daiki says clearly dissatisfied.

" Kakashi my eternal rival, my team will show you the power of youth as they completely win the chunin exams." Shouts Gai.

" My team might not be the best, but they will grow past yours in time."

" Alright that's enough, the hidden must perform better than all the other villages, as to deter and show that the hidden leaf is still strong." The third says standing from his seat.

" Daiki you've been monitoring the Kazekage, have you noticed anything strange?"

" Everything seems normal for now. But was it a good idea to have him in the village for this long? I'm sure having him in the village for the finals would have been enough, adding to that we don't know if they have any dangerous ideas, especially with an unstable one-tail

Jinchūriki in the village." Says Daiki.

Hearing this everyone in the room turned serious looking at the Hokage for his response.

" Mhm, the Kazekage put forward the idea of coming to the village for the whole chunin exams it would seem the hidden sand wants to strengthen the alliance between the villages and is experiencing a shortage of resources." The third says.

"As for the one tails, in the meeting we had earlier the Kazekage didn't mention anything about it, as for his intentions I can't be sure but for now Kakashi you will keep an eye on the boy while Daiki watches the Kazekage."

" I think we're missing something, the behavior of the Kazekage and the sudden disappearance of Orochimaru could indicate they may have planned something even though there isn't much evidence to support it now." Says Daiki.

" You think the hidden sand will break the alliance?" The only female Jonin sensei present asked.

" It wouldn't be the first time, one of the five great villages has come to the hidden leaf under the guise of making an alliance and done something the complete opposite, if the hidden cloud could do it why can't the hidden sand do it?" Daiki asked.

" Daiki is right, the hidden sand has always been the poorest and weakest of the five great villages, if given a chance it wouldn't be a surprise if they partnered up with Orochimaru if they thought they could damage the hidden leaf and plunder some resources while doing so." Kakashi says.

" For now we will work under the assumption that the hidden sand is still our ally, but we will up the servaliance of all the hidden sand shinobi in the village, along with the hidden sound seeing that the information we have says that Orochimaru has been spotted there more than once." The third ordered.

" Yes Sir!" The Jonin answered as they disappeared.

( Team ten)

The room was silent as everyone looked at the leaf shinobi who appeared out of the dissipating smoke.

" Thanks for waiting, I am Morino Ibiki the examiner of the first textbook the chunin exams." He says taking a step forward and looking at the sound genin and Kabuto who was now vomiting up his breakfast.

" You sound genin behave yourselves unless you're ready to fail this exam already." He says.

" We apologize, we got carried away it won't happen again." The three genin says one after the other.

" Alright, this seems like as good a time as any to explain the first exam, there will be no fight unless allowed by the examiner and even if allowed killing is not. Now instead of sitting in the seats you have now you will all come and pick one of these tabs and go to the seat assigned to you after that is finished we will begin passing out the exams." Ibiki says while holding up one of the tabs.

After everyone picked their tabs and the seating arrangements were changed Ibiki spoke again.

" Don't turn over the paper as yet, there are some rules you need to know before beginning the exams.

1. This test uses a subtraction system, meaning you all start with ten points, and the test has ten questions each worth one point with a point subtracted for every one you get wrong.

2. This is a team test meaning you pass or fail based on the combined score of your teammates.

3. During the exams anyone caught cheating will have two points taken away per offense.

4. And finally those who lose all their initial points and don't answer any questions right will be eliminated with their other two teammates." Ibiki says with a smile.

( Shikamaru)

' So it's a test about gathering information, the fact is he's a Jonin no one in this room can cheat without him or the other three hidden leaf shinobi helping him spotting it, so it's more about how clever you cheat than anything else, looking at these question only a handful of people in this room could answer these correctly, and no team can be sure all their member would answer any of these questions, that would mean all the team being eliminated.' Thinks Shikamaru.

' And seeing as that's not what they want, that only leaves cheating, our team doesn't have to worry to much I'll just answer the questions and make a note on the paper just in case Ino hasn't figured it out yet, when she uses the mind body switch jutsu on me to get the answers then on Choji to fill in his answers, we are sure to pass this exam.' Thinks Shikamaru as he begins writing.
