Creating My Own Army (on hold)

[Current World: Naruto] This story takes place in an alternate universe (AU) of Earth, where kingdoms still exist. The main character (MC) is the youngest war general due to a conflict with a more powerful kingdom. After dying in battle, the MC is offered a unique opportunity: a job that involves fighting monsters and armies. This position comes with two options—if they accept, they will gain power by going through trials; otherwise, they can choose to ascend to heaven or be reincarnated into their original world once again 1. Please note, this is not a harem story. I attempted to create one in my first fanfiction but struggled to find a plausible way to introduce such dynamics. Additionally, after reading numerous harem stories, while I don’t dislike the concept itself, the justifications provided in those narratives often felt contrived and unconvincing—for example, "He’s so strong, I need sisters," or "He’s the last of his clan, so he needs multiple wives." These reasons simply didn't resonate with me. Therefore, if romance becomes part of this story, it will feature a single pairing rather than a harem setup. Disclaimer: I do not own the Naruto world or any of its characters. My story only includes an original character (OC). Furthermore, I do not claim ownership of the cover picture used for this work. If the rightful owner wishes for it to be removed, please contact me.

Emergency job pt.2(Fixed)

[In Front of the Gate – Seconds Before Ajamu's Summoning]

The commanding officer of the demon army, Siz'guth , stood in communication with his superior through a glowing orb. Siz'guth was an imposing figure: 6'2" tall, with dark red skin, shark-like teeth, and two massive wings protruding from his back. He wore full plate armor and carried a two-handed sword at his side.

Siz'guth: "Lord General, our advance has met with little resistance, and the sacrifices are being collected as planned."

The General: "Good. Our king does not tolerate incompetence, so I suggest you finish on time and not keep him waiting."

Siz'guth: "I understand, my lord, but… is sending only these low-level demons and monsters truly wise? I do not mean to question my orders or disrespect them, but we were given expendable troops—creatures typically used for weaker worlds. If this world possesses stronger forces, they will be useless against them." His voice betrayed his growing unease about his survival.

The General replied sharply: "You follow your orders, Siz'guth. These creatures were sent because this world is deemed low-level, and there is no need to mobilize our main army for mere sacrifices. They have performed their duties adequately thus far. Just keep them in check, and you'll receive a generous payout." The tone left no room for further discussion.

Siz'guth, sensing he may have overstepped, stammered: "I apologize, sir, I didn't mean…" But before he could finish, his gaze—and that of every demon around him—snapped toward the direction of the gate. Something ominous was arriving.

The General: "Speak, Siz'guth! Why did you suddenly stop talking?"

Through trembling lips, Siz'guth whispered into the orb: "Something terrifying is coming."

The General: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN?! SPEAK, COMMANDER, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU!"

By now, Ajamu had already summoned his shadows, and Siz'guth staggered backward, collapsing onto his rear. With shaking hands, he pulled the orb closer to his face: "HELP! HELP! WE ARE UNDER ATTACK! A GUARDIAN WAS SENT! DO YOU HEAR ME? A GUARDIAN WAS SENT! SEND THE ARMY!"

The General: "Pull yourself together, coward! Measure his strength. His arrival may be sooner than expected, but this is no surprise."

Realization dawned on Siz'guth. 'Measure his strength? Wait… could it be? Did they send me here with these weak mobs as bait? To see if the guardian is weak enough to continue the invasion—or strong enough to warrant abandoning me here?' Panic gripped him.

Looking at Ajamu's advancing troops, he barked commands to his demons and monsters, ordering them to fight. Meanwhile, the General's voice boomed again through the orb: "Report, Siz'guth. Have you measured his strength?"

Resigning himself to his fate, Siz'guth focused on Ajamu's aura—a skill soldiers were trained to master, and one he excelled at. After a moment, his eyes widened in shock.

Siz'guth: 'This aura and power… I've only felt such strength from the royal guards of the king! And his troops include several soldiers matching that level, with even the weakest ranking at commanding officer level. I must report this immediately. With this level of strength, they'll send the elite army and proceed with the invasion. At least my life is saved.'

He quickly brought the orb closer and reported: "Royal guard level! I repeat—the guardian is royal guard level! He has several soldiers under him with similar strength, and the weakest among them rank at commanding officer level!"

The General: "Good work, Siz'guth. You will be rewarded for this. An elite reinforcement of royal guards will be dispatched to lead the invasion. Hold until then."

Siz'guth: "Sir, what do you mean 'hold'?! With his current forces, these low-level demons and monsters can barely hold him off for a few minutes!" His urgency was palpable. 'He's asking me to die here to buy time for reinforcements!'

The General: "You have your orders, Siz'guth. We will continue sending low-level demons and monsters to assist you until the army arrives. Your loyalty will not be forgotten."

Siz'guth clenched his fists in rage. 'Damn it! They're leaving me to die, and retreating isn't an option—it's a death sentence too. F **! I need to buy time and hope the reinforcements arrive before he reaches me.'*

Gathering his courage, he drew his sword and began issuing frantic orders, rallying the remaining demons and monsters to form a meat shield between him and Ajamu's advancing army.

But before he could act, Tobirama Senju—Tobi—emerged from the shadows and teleported him directly in front of Ajamu. Seeing the imposing figure before him, Siz'guth dropped his sword instantly and fell to his knees, begging for mercy: "Spare me! I'm nothing but a lowly soldier following orders!"

[Ajamu POV]

I looked down at the kneeling demon, mildly surprised by his cowardice—but it wasn't something unfamiliar on the battlefield. Observing him more closely, I noted his wings and shark-like teeth. This was my first encounter with a demon, and it was certainly an experience.

Still, brute force wasn't always the best strategy in war. Even with overwhelming numbers, casualties could pile up unnecessarily. I signaled Tobi to restrain him while I delved into his memories using my Rinnegan. Extracting information would kill him in the process, but he served no other purpose anyway.

Through his fragmented thoughts, I learned that he and his forces were merely bait to gauge my strength. Unfortunately for them, they had only measured my base form—a human equipped with the Rinnegan, intentionally suppressing my aura to avoid harming weaker bystanders. Many of my shadows were doing the same.

However, the mention of elite royal guards and the aura of his king hinted at a greater challenge ahead. If their elites were skilled at concealing their true power, this war might prove more difficult than anticipated.

Ajamu: "Tobi, the real army will be arriving soon. We need to eliminate the remaining demons and monsters here quickly. I know you've all been holding back to avoid destroying the city, but disregard that. Fighting the forces they'll send will devastate it regardless. Clear them out fast and evacuate everyone from the city."

Tobi: "As you command, my king."

I can't cross the gate yet, I thought to myself. They'll send their army in waves, allowing me to thin their ranks gradually. It's smarter to hold them here.

My gaze shifted to Tsunade, who was still healing the injured children and their mother. Sighing softly, I resolved to prioritize her safety. She can fight, perhaps, but this battle is far beyond her capabilities—and unlike my shadows, she isn't unkillable. I'll send her with the evacuees outside the city.

I also need to address another glaring issue exposed by this situation. My forces lack dedicated healers—magical types capable of mending wounds in seconds. This is clearly a critical oversight. Wars like this demand rapid medical support. Hmm… this incident has been quite the eye-opener.
