Orange juice

Three years later.

At the dining table of the Qin Mansion.

Maids and servants were working as usual with their heads hung low, no expression on their faces as if they were not people but mere robots. They controlled their breathing to sound as low as possible. They were scared to make a single sound and upset their Master. It's been three years since their Mistress had died and this mansion had changed a lot since then.

And, no. They were not talking about the decoration inside the Mansion. Every wall, every corner, and everything inside the mansion was still decorated according to their Mistress's likes. Even after her death, it was still kept the same and the servants did their level best to keep it that way. The mansion looked the same but it didn't feel the same anymore.

Before, it felt like working at somebody's home but now, it was just a cold building where people resided. Their mistress was the soul of this mansion and with her, the soul and liveliness of this place were gone. Not only the mansion, but their Master had also changed a lot. Since their mistress died, he was not quite himself.

If before they were scared of him, but now they were completely terrified of him. One single mistake could cost them their lives. If wasn't for the reason that working here paid a huge amount of money, they would have gone somewhere else to work. Also since their mistress died, their Master's temper rose to another level.

At the same time, everyone working inside the mansion knew that he had gone crazy. They often saw him talking to their mistress, doing things, and living as if she was still very much alive and present with him. All of them could only sigh knowing that their mistress's death took a big toll on him. Everyone considered him to be crazy but no one spoke out their thoughts in front of him.

Now, the mansion had a head servant who looked after all the requirements, the maids and servants, and made sure that everyone followed the given rules and regulated. This person was a man in his mid50s and was respected by everyone in the mansion.

"Good morning, Butler Cui."

A sweet feminine voice greeted the housekeeper. All the maids smiled warmly at the beautiful woman who was walking toward them while Housekeeper/ Butler Cui smiled widely and nodded respectfully at the young lady.

"Good morning, Miss Qin."

Qin Liling smiled. She took her place at the dining table and waited for everyone else to arrive. In the Qin Mansion, it was a set rule that everyone was supposed to be at the dining table at the correct time and not sleep in. This rule was made by her sister-in-law and was not changed until now. Remembering her sister-in-law who she never got to meet, she sighed sadly.

"Mornin Liling," A sleepy voice greeted her from behind.

Qin Liling turned her face to the side. She glanced at the Luo Jin who was still in his pajamas and yawning from time to time. "Good morning, Brother Luo. Looks like you didn't complete your sleep last night...."

"It was a fun night." Luo Jin winked. "Didn't get to sleep much."

Qin Liling blushed slightly, turning her face away from him. As her personality was a little shy when it came to these things, he would purposely tease her and irritate her. According to her analysis, out of the three, Brother Luo Jin was the biggest playboy, Brother Maximilian was a rough guy who didn't like to interact much while Brother Yufeng was the emotionless cold robot.

"Where's Yufeng?" Luo Jin asked, glancing around the dining table as the maid began to serve him.

Qin Liling shrugged. "I don't know."

Just as she finished answering his question, they heard the familiar sounds of footsteps walking down the stairs. Immediately sensing his cold, dominating presence all the maids and servants straightened their backs, hung their heads lower than before, and continued their work without making any sounds.

At once, the lively atmosphere surrounding the dining table vanished. Even Qin Liling hung her head low and tried to lessen her presence as much as possible. In this mansion, if she was afraid of someone then it had to be Brother Yufeng.

"G-good m-morning, Brother Yufeng...." she greeted with a stiff smile.

"Hmm." Qin Yufeng nodded coldly.

He walked towards the dining table, pulled a chair for his wife, and then sat at his seat. All the maids glanced at him fearfully, not commenting on his actions whatsoever. In these three years, they were all used to his crazy behavior. Housekeeper Cui personally served him breakfast while also keeping another plate in front of the empty chair where his mistress usually used to sit.

After that, all the maids and servants retreated back to their work while Housekeeper Cui and two male servants stayed behind to serve their masters and miss when necessary.

"Love, let's eat." Qin Yufeng smiled at the empty chair. "Look, today, I personally told the kitchen to make your favorite food. Day by day you are getting so thin. You need to eat more."

After speaking to the empty chair, he began to eat his own breakfast. Suddenly, his eyes fell on the empty glass kept in front of him. Looking at that, he frowned and his mood got worse. "Why is this glass empty?" he questioned in a low voice. "Don't you all know that my Yueyue loves to drink orange juice in the morning? Where is the damn juice? What am I paying you all for?"

"Housekeeper Cui, bring the damn juice!!!!" he yelled.

Instantly, Housekeeper Cui apologized for his mistake and asked for mercy. He glanced at the nearby servants and signaled him to bring the juice from the kitchen. The servant nodded with fear in his eyes and rushed towards the kitchen. A few minutes later, he returned back empty-handed but dared not to go towards the dining table.

Qin Yufeng's sharp eyes glanced at him. Looking at his empty hands, his eyes flashed with anger. "WHERE IS MY WIFE'S ORANGE JUICE?" he hissed. "YOU BLOODY SERVANT!!! WHERE THE HELL IS MY WIFE'S ORANGE JUICE???"
