I headed to the third floor of my dorm and walked to room, 313.
I don't know why, but what that bullied kid said kept repeating in my head.
"Their leader is dangerous"
It kept making me angrier the more I thought about it. I don't care even if he brings a damn army. I'll destroy them.
I knocked three times on my room's door.
"Come in," said Daisy from inside.
I opened the light brown door and walked in. The guy whose name I don't know yet, and Daisy were in pajamas, getting ready for bed.
"Hey, angry dude. I forgot to tell you my name earlier. It's Dawson," he said, reaching his hand out for a handshake.
"My name's Hasan," I said, grabbing his hand and shaking it.
"Ow, that's a good grip," he said, wincing a little.
"Hasan huh? Interesting name," Daisy said, smiling. "What's it mean?"
"Look it up, I dunno," I said and walked to my bed and sat down.
I turned on my phone and texted the bullied kid. His name is Ivan. He had a Russian accent when I spoke to him and his name also sounds Russian. So I guess he's Russian.
We exchanged numbers because I wanted to make sure he reached his room safely.
I walked to the bathroom. As I washed my face, I looked at my face in the mirror and thought about my future. What will happen tomorrow? Did Ivan reach safely? Will those scum attack me? How do I deal with them?
I sighed.
"Let's not stress about this too much now. I need good sleep," I thought.
I then brushed my teeth and walked out of the restroom.
I placed a prayer mat down and prayed the night prayer.
"God, give me the strength to bear the challenges I'll face tomorrow, and every day after that," I prayed.
I threw myself onto my bed and stared at the ceiling.
---
"Something's bothering him," Daisy said to Dawson, kicking her legs back and forth as she sat on her bed.
"I dunno. Doesn't he always looks like that ?" Dawson replied, tapping away on his phone, while lying down on his stomach on his bed.
"It's a woman's intuition," she said, making a curious expression.
"Pfft...whatever. You just met the guy today. You don't know anything about him," said Dawson as he continued to use his phone.
"Oh please. I have two brothers. I have enough experience under my belt," she said, looking at Dawson.
"Your brothers aren't weirdos like he is are they?" Dawson asked.
---
Next morning
"Ah! What's that stupid sound?! Who in their right mind sets an alarm this early?! It's bloody 5:20 am!!"
Daisy shouted with an annoyed voice while covering her head with her pillow.
She gets up and peeks from her curtain and sees me praying.
"Oh, oops. You continue....with your thing then," she said and and went back to bed.
"Hey!" Dawson called out to Daisy from his bed with a loud whisper.
"What?" Daisy asked.
"That guy is a freak isn't he? I wonder why we got stuck with him," Dawson said.
"I think he's cool," Daisy said smiling.
"Huh?!" Dawson replied.
"We could learn a thing or two from him about discipline," Daisy said.
After praying I did a few sets of pushups and threw myself into bed.
As my eyes slowly closed I was thinking about how my first day in the campus would be.....
----
Morning...
"Oh no! It's so late! I only have four hours to get ready!" Daisy said, getting off her bed and rushing to the bathroom with her messy blonde hair.
"You need four hours to get ready? I could visit my grandma and come back within that time period!" Dawson said, shocked at how long she would take to get ready.
Dawson hadn't even taken a bath yet. But he was confident that he could get ready in 45 minutes.
I was already ready, with a simple dark blue shirt, with rolled up sleeves and cream coloured cotton pants. I never tuck in my shirts.
"Hey Hasan, isn't that too long to get ready?" Dawson asked.
"I could build and send a satellite into
the orbit within that time," I replied with a monotonous voice.
Dawson laughed and said, "I know right?"
"I'm a girl okay? I don't expect stupid boys like you to understand!" She shouted from inside the bathroom.
She stormed out of the bathroom with an annoyed face and came up to me, while I was sitting on a chair.
"And you! I thought you were a gentleman but it turns out you're pretty mean huh?" She said, glaring at me. She wasn't exactly angry, but she was mildly annoyed and playing along with our teasing.
I didn't make eye contact with her as I was trying to hold in a laugh.
"Look me in the eyes, mister," she said with hands on her hips.
My stoic expression slowly broke into into a smirk and I covered my mouth to hide my amusement.
"Oh, he smiled! Is it going to rain today? What's the occasion?" Dawson said, poking at me with his words.
Not going to lie, I was having more fun than I expected, and I barely know these two.
-----
"Ok, you guys ready? We need to leave!" Daisy said, adjusting her hair in front of the mirror.
"You keep saying the same damn thing when you're the one who's still getting ready! We're already done damn it! You're the one who's taking ages!" Dawson said, facepalming.
I sat and watched the drama unfold.
I looked at the time on my phone and got up from my chair. I decided to leave since it was time.
"Can I have some coffee guys, please?" Daisy asked.
"Hasan made three cups. We drank ours. You're the only one left," Dawson said, looking frustrated.
"That's so nice of you!" Daisy said, sipping her coffee.
I sighed and walked to the door. I couldn't wait any longer. Dawson followed.
"Wait, wait! I'm coming," Daisy said. Gulping down the coffee and rushing to the door.
"How do I look?" She asked, with an joyful expression.
Dawson looked unamused.
"Just shut up alright? You've already tortured us enough. Hasan over here looks like he could kill someone with his stare. You had the poor guy rethinking his life decisions because of how long he waited for you," Dawson said.
We closed the door of our room behind us and made our way into the elevator in the corridor.
"Our first day of college in this island," Dawson said to himself and to us.
We reached the ground floor and walked for about 5 minutes before reaching the campus.
"Let's go in shall we?" Daisy said, nervous and happy at the same time.
