Martial Spirits

Grimoire:

It's already been done before (Story is called Spirit Grimoire in Douluo Dalu) but i wanted to put a spin to it, my own version(s).

1) Spirit Beast Grimoire

A. Stores Spirit Rings (Souls of spirit beasts: animals and plants) & Spirit Bones (Bones left behind following the death of a spirit beast)

- Stores rings of spirit beasts killed as long as the ring(s) are still there and have not disappeared (Spirit Rings are the soul cores released by Spirit Beasts following their death, sacrifice, or contract with humans. The Spirit Ring can only be absorbed by the person who delivers the final blow and kills it).

- The ring stored doesn't have to be from a spirit beast that only the MC has killed, made a contract with or sacrificed. Other people can kill spirit beasts without using them for their promotion to the next cultivation levels and the MC can decide whether to store the ring in his grimoire or not.

- Can store spirit bones of any kind for later use or even to keep for others. Only the user/MC can release what he stores.

- The benefit of storing away such things is the MC may want to merge with a ring in the future and he would easily have access to it allowing him to pull the ring from his storage and absorb it rather than go out to waste time looking for spirit beasts to fight or convince to make a contract with. This would save lots of future time, as when the MC reaches levels 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 etc. he could just pull out the ring he wants to absorb from his storage and then put it to good use.

- Can also store immortal herbs (grows in special environments and change because of them) for future use.

B. Records information

- For any of the spirit beasts that were killed, sacrificed or contracted with and had their spirit ring removed and stored by the grimoire or absorbed by the MC to aid in his promotion of cultivation levels,... the information about them would appear on pages of the grimoire. The information is automatically recorded so the user/MC would know right away what he has and what he got from the spirit beast.

- This benefits others as they get to learn of different spirit beasts (their features, how to identify them and also distinguish them from others of their kind that are not exactly the same, where to commonly find them, their strengths and weaknesses, age, abilities etc. stuff like that).

- Also, information on spirit bones are recorded too for the benefit of the user/MC and his companions if he/she plans on giving them to others. The information on the spirit bones is the name of the spirit bone (which is usually the type of spirit beast you got it from and the classification [chest bone, skull bone, left arm bone, right arm bone, left leg bone and right leg bone] of what type of bone it is e.g. Ice Scorpion torso bone which is a chest spirit bone got from an ice scorpion emperor, a gold left arm bone which is a left arm bone got from a golden dragon earth king spirit beast etc.), abilities (since spirit bones provide abilities like spirit rings do), age etc.

C. Refine Spirit Bones and Spirit Rings

- The spirit rings and spirit bones stored in the grimoire can be refined and improved. Refining and improving the spirit rings and spirit bones will not only make them the strongest of their age group but can also cause mutations to the spirit rings and spirit bones making them contend with spirit rings and spirit bones few levels higher than them.

- This refining and improving function really helps with the summoning function which is my next point.

D. Summoning function

- Any ring that the user/MC has not absorbed into himself/herself and is kept stored in the grimoire can be summoned out of it. However, instead of summoning the ring only, a special ability of the grimoire is you can summon those beasts. It's like a temporary resurrection with them being under your control and fighting for you (imagine them being summoned by rising from the ground in the middle of their rings when their rings are pulled out from the grimoire for use).

- As long as the summon is not destroyed when out, the user/MC can store the ring back in his/her grimoire after using it when summoned out.

- The summoned beast if originally killed to get its spirit ring will only be 50% of it's original power and abilities. If sacrificed, it would be 60% of its power and abilities, but if it made a contract with the user/MC, then when its summoned, not only would it act like a familiar with size changing capabilities (having the power to grow smaller to ride on the MCs shoulders, or growing twice as big as it once was before contract) and intelligence, but it would get to use 75% to 80% of its original power and abilities.

- The last point of the summoning function is the refined spirit rings. When fully refined and improved, the summoned beast if killed originally to get it's spirit ring will have access to 75% of it's abilities and powers. If sacrificed, it would be 85% to 90% and if a contract was made between the user/MC, then the summon would be capable of all it could do before the contract with a 105% to 150% increase in power and abilities.

- You don't have to stick to those exact parameters of 50%, 60%, 75% to 80%, 105% to 150%, 200%, you can do your own thing, i just gave a general idea.

E. Merging/Fusion

- You can use this to fuse what you want together to get something new that the grimoire will also give information on for your benefit.

- With this function, you can fuse together two similar or opposing rings and bones to get new results (e.g. fusing the ring of an Ice Grey wolf with an opposing ring of a fire phoenix snake/bird/whatever to get a Sun & Moon Wolf with characteristics of both like being a wolf with wings of a phoenix bird that can use the ice better than an ice grey wolf and use fire better than a fire phoenix bird. Or similar rings merging like an ice scorpion merging with another ice scorpion ring to form an ice scorpion emperor with an absolute element, something the two previous ice scorpions that merged together didn't have. etc...).

- You can't fuse together a chest bone and a skull bone or an arm or leg bone. It would have to be similar spirit bones like a chest bone and another chest bone, arm bones with other arm bones, leg bones with other leg bones, two or more skull bones to make a stronger skull bone that has all the abilities of the previous skull bones before the merging and a new ability made for the newly created skull bone after merging.

- Sometimes, when you merge two or more spirit bones, you may loose some of the abilities the previous spirit bones had even though you've traded them for new ones.

- A special part of this function is being able to merge two or more spirit beasts you summoned in combat to leave you with one stronger summon beast (that takes the best characteristics and looks of the beasts into one) under your control rather than multiple weaker ones that are getting the crap kicked out of them by the opponent.

- Another special part of the summon function is being able to merge with the spirit beast you summoned (picture the summoning where the summon comes from the ring except instead of the summon coming from the ring on the ground, the summons ring encompasses them from head to toe then merges and they come out looking like people from Tales of Demons and Gods when they merge with their demon spirits (humanoid figure bipedal warrior animals wearing clothes)so you know they'll look alright).

Note: THE SUMMONING AND FUSION ARE REALLY THE ONLY ABILITIES THAT COULD BE CONSIDERED OFFENSIVE ABOUT THIS MARTIAL SPIRIT TOOL. FOR EVERY ABILITY THE USER/MC GETS FROM ABSORBING SPIRIT RINGS AND PROMOTING TO HIGHER LEVELS, IT TRANSLATES TO THE SUMMONING AND FUSION ABILITY (meaning the abilities they get from the ring they absorb for promotion in cultivation level and any abilities got from the rings they absorb in the future for level promotion, will be abilities that are added to the transformations from the summoning of spirit beast and merging with it allowing the MC to use the abilities of the beast he/she has fused with while also using the abilities got from the rings absorbed).
