CHAPTER 25: VIVIAN

With his permission, Briar was a in good mood, she couldn't help but throw herself into his arms willingly like a child who had received candy.

That was the first time Briar was initiating something, so Logan took advantage of that and used those hands which had been holding her hands to caress her back.

Feeling too excited, Briar, like a child, started to share her dreams with Logan, and the more he listened, the more he smiled.

Briar was too excited. She didn't know how long she talked, but one thing was for certain; she spent a very long time doing so.

As for when she slept, she had no idea.

However, someone clearly remembered everything clearly. Especially when in the morning, he looked at the sleeping young maiden snoring soundly, her chest heaving up and down.

He didn't know what she was dreaming, but that smile on her face made his lips involuntarily rise as a glint of pride flashed in his eyes.

When he thought of what the girl dreamily confessed, Logan leaned in closer to her and looked at her for a while.

When sleeping, she looked much more relaxed than when facing him.

That used to upset him as he thought that she feared him much, but after that sleep talk, Logan couldn't contain himself.

He lowered his head and intimately kissed that forehead with a smile.

'Sleep tight, my darling!' he affectionately looked at her for a moment before reluctantly climbing down the bed.

No matter what, he was a working man and needed to go to work. There was still time to talk about what she might not remember once she woke up. At least, it gave him the overall idea of what was happening, and he didn't seem to loathe it at all.

Logan didn't go to the bathroom at that moment but unceremoniously turned off Briar's alarm. She had talked too much until the wee hours of the morning. She might as well take a break this morning.

As a result, when Briar naturally woke up, she nearly bashed herself.

11:30 am.

How did she oversleep?

Was this the comfort of this room and bed?

Briar covered her face embarrassedly with her hands, scolding herself for being too relaxed.

Talking about getting too relaxed, she didn't do anything in her sleep, right?

She was a good sleeper, never sleepwalking, or talking. Her sleeping habits were good as well.

Thinking like that, she heaved a sigh of relief. It would be shameful if she showed an embarrassing self.

Having some faith in herself, she took a deep breath, mustering her courage.

Since she had overslept, there was no need to cry over spilt milk.

With that in mind, Briar rose from the bed and started getting the room ready.

She aired the sheets and everything. Since she was now the wife, why let another woman clean her room?

That's how a lot of women got their husbands stolen. There were so many people out there eyeing these people. With how versed she was with herbs and charms; bedrooms were so intimate that allowing anyone in them might cause a lot of damage.

She was overly cautious.

After cleaning the room, she took a shower and changed into something casual before leaving the room. By the time she was done, it was nearly around 1 pm, and she felt no more shame.

What was wrong with oversleeping after sleeping with her husband?

When the maids saw her, they looked at her a bit too overenthusiastically; it made her blush with shame. What were these people thinking about?

Although they didn't say it, she could tell that their thoughts were as rotten as hers. Unfortunately, nothing happened, and she wasn't even sure when that would happen.

Anyway, there wasn't much for her to do at home, especially after receiving a message from the butler that she didn't have to deliver lunch to Logan's office.

Without much to do, she could only play at home. However, that was boring. So, what could she do?

Only if she was in charge of preparing her husband's birthday banquet. She would head over to the ancestral house and lend a hand. Unfortunately, that couldn't be done.

Talking about birthday presents, she didn't buy anything for him this year. As the wife, she needed to up her game.

She wasn't going to let anyone point fingers at her this time. Last year, she was just the nanny, but this year she was the wife.

There should be a change.

Feeling determined to prove herself, Briar, who had nothing to do a while ago, suddenly was filled with vigor.

Since she was going out, she informed the butler to prepare her car for her. She was going out.

After instructing him, she hurriedly went to the fourth floor to get a change of clothes.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

In the middle of picking among the few clothes she owned, her phone started ringing.

"Who might be calling now?" she asked out loud as she put the dress she had picked on the counter before walking away.

Since all the clothes were in the closet and her phone was in the bedroom, she had to walk over there.

The phone continued to ring, so she increased her pace and when she picked it up, a smile involuntarily blossomed on her face.

Seeing the caller, Briar swiped the phone to answer, walking back to the closet to continue with her picking.

"Hello!" she answered in a bright voice, showing how much the person she was talking to was someone she truly liked.

[Um! You sound a bit too different. Darling, tell me. Did you win the lotto by any chance?]

Briar chuckled helplessly as she placed the phone on top of the counter, before putting the call on speaker and answered, "Yes, I won the lotto. How can you predict so well? Are you some seer's apprentice now?" she asked teasingly, imagining how dumbfounded the other was right now.

[Tche! Your tongue became even sharper as well. Tell me, where are you right now?]

"Me? I am home but about to go out. Are you back?" she asked curiously, her brows arching upwards.

[Um, I am back and at home. Since you are going out, I will join you. I want to catch up on everything!]

Briar shook her head with a chuckle, finding the other person's curiosity still over the top. The other person had never changed at all. It was a good thing.

"Sure. We will take my car!"

[No, your car is too flashy. I will bring mine!] the other responded before hanging up.

Du. Du. Du.

Hearing those sounds, Briar didn't seem to be shocked at all but simply chuckled before she continued to find something appropriate to wear.

'It's going to be a crazy day!' she shook her head as she thought about the crazy person that she was going to meet.

After rummaging for a while, she found something to wear.

"I need to buy more clothes!" she concluded as she looked at the clothes in the closet.

These clothes weren't fit for the wife of Logan.

After changing, she went downstairs and as she was walking towards the door, the butler caught up to her reporting, "Ms. Vivian's car just entered through the gates. Are you still using your car?"

Briar looked at the butler with a mysterious smile on her face. The old thing didn't even overhear her conversation with her friend earlier and yet he had already assumed that she won't be using her car. This man was very dangerous.

"Um. I will be using hers. Sorry for the trouble, Uncle."

The butler heaved a sigh of relief upon seeing the change of expression on the second madam's face. "It's no trouble at all, just doing my job."

Briar smiled at him without saying a word and continued going outside.

When she got outside, Vivian's white SUV was coming to a halt. Briar smiled helplessly as she looked at the big car.

What was the point of driving such a big car? This friend of hers was truly an over-the-top kind of person. However, she liked her so much.

"Hey, girl! Hurry up!" Vivian called out to Briar as soon as she rolled down the window.

Briar raised her hand, motioning for her that she understood before she turned to look at Uncle Marcus.

"Uncle, when the kids return, just tell them that I went out with Vivian. I will be back as soon as I can."

The butler nodded as he responded, "Sure. I will tell the young master and mistresses when they return."

Briar nodded at him before she hurried towards the car. She couldn't let Vivian wait for long. This best friend of hers tends to get impatient at times.

"You really know how to make an entrance!" Briar licked her tongue as she got into the car.

Vivian rolled her eyes as she eyed Briar from head to toe. Briar ignored that gaze as she buckled her seat before looking at Vivian.

"Why are you scanning at me like that? Did I grow a horn on my head?" Briar sarcastically asked as she rolled her eyes at this next-door friend of hers.

Upon hearing that, Vivian's lips rose in a smirk as her gaze fixated on her ears.
