Dreams provide abundant warmth for comfort during sleep, a concept that is beyond understanding. But what are nightmares?
The Morpheus Tree would slowly give Dylan the details on the understanding of Epiales while Dylan was still on his knees.
"Epiales is the one thing I avoid, the one thing that will never end. His coming is inevitable. I have vanquished his parade of nightmares so many times, but it is useless because he still exists; sealing him is impossible for me," said the Morpheus Tree.
"What do you mean by his coming being inevitable?" asked Dylan.
"Epiales is an entity spawned from the dormant depths of all dream nexuses; yes, even the dream nexuses are not all clean. He is like a virus that feeds off the sweetness of the nexus itself. He is endless beyond comprehension," said the Morpheus Tree.
"Okay, so what? Aren't you the great divine tree, the holder of infinite dreams?" said Dylan in a dubious manner.
"It is true that I should be able to stop him, but sadly, I cannot. That is what Epiales desires. He desires my immediate appearance," said the Morpheus Tree.
Dylan stared at the tree in a very confused manner, placing his fingers on his chin, and whispered, "Oh, I see, I understand zero of which he speaks.".
"Epiales isn't corrupting dream nexuses aimlessly. He does it to attract me and acquire my wrath. He isn't satisfied with the fruit. He wants the whole tree," said the Morpheus Tree.
"What do you mean? It's just your descent, not the tree, right? I mean, when you go into the dream nexus to face him, it's just your descendant form. You, as the tree, would still be here," said Dylan.
"No. What will remain is nothing but my real state of being, which is the tree. My consciousness will be within the nexus. I'm incapable of having two states of existence. Epiales is capable of reaching this plane, as he himself is the Lord of Corrupted Dreams," said the Morpheus Tree.
"What? Going into the nexus would bring Epiales out. How are you going to do it now?" Dylan asked naively, as if not knowing what the tree wanted or not understanding the situation.
It was slowly becoming clear what the Morpheus Tree wanted.
"You were brought in and out of existence and non-existence for a reason, Dylan. You have no dream, yet you're a dreamwalker. Your existence is beyond what you think it is," said the Morpheus Tree.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Don't you know I have family, friends, and people? They'll definitely know something is wrong, will definitely look for me," said Dylan.
"It seems you don't comprehend the situation; you still speak like a child. Dreams are outside the fundamentals of space, reality, and time. You can reshape space, time, and reality as much as you want. If you do not stop Epiales, he will consume the tree, and all of existence will seize to exist." Said the Morpheus Tree
"What do you want from me exactly?" Dylan asked
"What I want from you does not exist; it's what I'm willing to give you, Dylan. You will be beyond what your very own understanding of God is; you can do what I'm incapable of doing," said the Morpheus Tree.
"Hmm, that's nice, though, but, like, isn't that too much for me? I mean, I'm still a young lad and all." said Dylan
"When you realize there's more to actuality than just desires and thoughts, then you'll realize that desires and thoughts are nothing more than limitations to what an entity can achieve." Said the Morpheus Tree
"Me having the power of God? Hmmm, I dunno, Mr. Mahogany." Said Dylan
"You will inherit the name of Somnus, 'the God of Sleep," and inherit the power of Morpheus, leaving behind worldly desires and becoming the Guardian of the Tree." Said the Morpheus Tree.
"DO YOU ACCEPT THIS DYLAN? .." the Morpheus Tree said in a loud, bold voice.
