Breakfast was heavenly. Amelia felt like she was going to struggle to get hiking after how full she was. She ate fruit, eggs, sausages, biscuits, and some sort of gravy and salted ham, the list went on and on. It was rich and filling, and she wondered if she could just stay there forever. She could get used to living in a castle.
She felt guilty though, knowing her troops were out in the woods, living off the dry, flavorless rations she'd been eating the last few days. That's what she needed to be doing.
"Where's your next stop?" Garret asked, tearing a boiled egg in half to put some kind of sauce on it.
"Mystic Moon," she answered simply.
Garret paused, turning to face her fully. "When was the last time someone actually made it into their compound?"
"We've done some trading with them in the past. We get all of our truth serum from them. I don't have to go into the compound to do business with them." Amelia shrugged. "I can understand wanting privacy."
