Tian Yan opened his mouth again, "As for that governor of yours, don't you know this saying? Distant water cannot quench a fire nearby."

However, as soon as he finished saying those words…

"Are you sure about that?"

This was not said by Wang Chen. Of course, this was not from Zhao Xiang's mouth too.

It was someone else.

Zhao Xiang felt a clench of despair after hearing that voice. His heart started to beat furiously as tremendous nausea started to overwhelm him. It felt as though he was falling straight into the bottomless abyss.

He quickly raised his head to check his surroundings. However, he saw no one around him.

"Who is it?!" Tian Yan too was surprised.

However, he could not sense anyone else nearby.

If this was not caused by an illusion, then this could only mean that his foe had stronger abilities in stealth than him.

As soon as he realized this, Tian Yan felt a shiver down his back as a swift palm approached him from behind.

Tian Yan was shocked as he turned around.

He saw an extremely young man inching closer with his palm, exerting extremely powerful force!

Qin Feng was already behind Wang Chen in split seconds right after striking Tian Yan to the air.

Splat!

Tian Yan got sent straight to the villa's wall. The villa was constructed with special materials, thus it did not crumble after enduring such a powerful force. However, all the decorations and paintings on the walls fell to the floor.

"Argh!"

Tian Yan spitted out blood as he tried to stand up.

Qin Feng only used one percent of his internal energy. However, it was enough to injure Tian Yan.

"So, how's the taste of that 'distant water', huh?"

Qin Feng's voice floated into Tian Yan's ears, like a whisper from the devil.

Struggling to stand still, Tian Yan tried to use his own internal energy to calm the boiling energies that were squalling in his organs. Cold sweat started to roll down on his forehead.

"Who… who are you?!" Tian Yan raised his head and asked.

Qin Feng rolled an eye at him. "Hey, I only struck your back. Not your head. Don't tell me you've become a retard from that attack! Are you really sure you don't know who I am?"

Tian Yan stared at Qin Feng's overly young face… and then, he understood something.

"Qin Feng! You're Qin Feng! But aren't you…"

"Dead? Or stuck at the unknown dimension? Heh…" Qin Feng did not continue on with his words. His smirk was clear as day and it was quite easily understood what the situation they had on hand was though.

Perhaps trying to beg for forgiveness or scared so sh*tless that his legs felt weak, Zhao Xiang quickly kneeled on the floor.

"Boss… Boss! I'm sorry. I beg for your forgiveness! Please. I've done a lot for your organization, so please let me go! You have got to believe me. I was threatened by this man. I did not intend to betray you on purpose!" Zhao Xiang crawled to Qing Feng's feet and begged like a dog.

However, Qin Feng did not seem moved by his words.

He raised his Verdant Emperor Saber and swiped lightly across Zhao Xiang's neck.

He did not waste time talking to him. Qin Feng did not even waste his energy to look at the traitor.

If it were not for Qing Feng, Zhao Xiang would have died at Han Town. This guy had followed him and ascended to E3-tier in a year. Was that not enough for him?

If he worked harder, there could still be room for his power to keep on growing. Other than that, if Qing Feng had gotten more powerful personally, financially and politically, his followers would still have benefited from it anyway!

However, not many could remain firm and honest with their position. There would always be someone becoming envious and jealous of another anyway.

Zhao Xiang's face froze as his head fell off from his neck and onto the floor. There was no blood spilt though—the open wound was cauterized by the blade's fire.

After witnessing Qin Feng slaying Zhao Xiang in the blink of an eye, Tian Yan's eyes shrank in astonishment.

He did not even give his underling any chance to defend himself. This man must be someone who had a heart made of stone, one that would not waver under any circumstances. This man had no weaknesses!

And that strike earlier… Tian Yan knew he could not win against Qin Feng. He was injured by a simple attack from him, there was no way for him to fight back now!

"Run… I must run!"

Tian Yan turned and ran without hesitation.

However, Qin Feng's cold voice followed him like a ghost.

"Oh, come on now. You're running now? Isn't it a bit late to do that now? Besides… do you think you can come and go as you please in my turf?"

The anger in Qin Feng's voice was very apparent.

Qin Feng did not say anything when he killed Zhao Xiang. However, he was quite pissed.

Even if Zhao Xiang was not satisfied with his position in Fengli, there was no way he would pull such a traitorous move if Tian Yan did not show up.

However, these C-tier powers meant jack sh*t to Qin Feng's attacks!

Qin Feng then hurled a kick on Tian Yan's thigh.

When Tian Yan entered Wang Chen's villa earlier on, he had sealed the dimension in the area using his internal energy so that noises would not spread out to the outside. Right now, he did not care to do preparations like those anymore.

Tian Yan's loud, excruciating cry woke up the residents in the higher levels of Fengli City.

In mere minutes, countless people rushed out from their villas to find out what was happening.

Yet, when they saw what was happening, they all stopped and watched in awe and excitement.

Qin Feng—the one who literally owned Fengli City and Organization was now back!

As another attack landed, both of Tian Yan's legs were now completely crushed.

"Arghhhhhhhh!!"

Tian Yan's internal energy flooded out from his body as he unleashed every power and martial art that he knew in a last ditch attempt to save himself.

However, to Qin Feng, these "powers" and "martial arts" were nothing but a joke.

"Weak. Weak!! How dare someone as weak as you come and make a mess in my turf?! In my Fengli City?!"

As Qin Feng said sternly, he struck out another two kicks and crushed Tian Ya's limbs. Now, the man could not move ever again.

Right now, all that Tian Yan felt was fear.

It felt as though Qin Feng was literally the incarnation of the devil himself. When he was locked on by this devil, there was no hope of fleeing away.

"President Qin… Look, it's all just a misunderstanding. Misunderstanding!"

"Ha!"

Qin Feng let out a dry laugh.

"Misunderstanding? So, you're saying that because of a misunderstanding you came to Fengli City and killed over a dozen men? And not only that, you also stepped on one of my city's higher-ups, all because of a misunderstanding?"

Qin Feng raised his foot and aimed it at the man's chest.

If he stepped onto his chest right now, Tian Yan would definitely die a horrible death.

Chapter 565: A Shifty Underling

Right now, Tian Yan was at the edge of death under Qin Feng's foot.

"Tell me!"

Qin Feng's loud, stern voice shook Tian Yan to the core of his soul. The fear and terror that he was feeling was now multiplied even more.

"President Qin, it's a misunderstanding. I swear! I'm just here to recover something the Red Sun Corp has misplaced a while ago! That's it!"

Tian Yan struggled as he squeezed out the name "Red Sun Corp", hoping that this would make Qin Feng think twice and let him live.

In the Human Alliance, an organization could only rise up by being endorsed by C-tier aptitude users.

And some of these organizations were quite well-known.

One of them was the Red Sun Corp. This one, though, was not a C-tier endorsed organization, and it had not been for quite some time now. It was now a B-tier endorsed organization.

"Oh, Red Sun, you say?" A blink of intrigue flashed in Qin Feng's eyes.

He could guess what Tian Yan was after now.

The man was after the Godwill Atlas. Still, he could not understand why the Red Sun was two years early.

If he could not understand why, Qin Feng could still interrogate the information out of this man.

When Tian Yan saw that Qin Feng had pulled back his foot, he thought he was safe. However, before he was able to celebrate it, Qin Feng had pressed his palm on his dantian.

"Asteroid Assimilation!"

In that instant, all four pools of his internal energy in the dantian were constantly sapped away.

Tian Yan's face turned pale as his entire body shook tremendously.

His limbs were all crushed. Now, his dantian was severely injured by Qin Feng too.

Still, to a C-tier ancient warrior, these were mere scratches. They only needed to rest for two to three months to heal up completely.

And Qin Feng did not intend to allow him to recover from his injuries. By sapping away his internal energy, Tian Yan would have lost his powers and descended to something even weaker than an F-tier.

Nonetheless, Qin Feng still left some drops of internal energy in him; this was done so that Tian Yan would not die right away.

Tian Yan widened his eyes and cried out in a panic, "Nooo!!! My… My internal energy! What happened to it?! What have you done to me?!"

Qin Feng did not bother to answer his questions. Instead, he waved at Bai Li.

Bai Li then stepped out from the shadows and stood next to Qin Feng.

Tian Yan did not know what awaited him next. He felt something much worse than death was about to happen to him though.

"No! You can't do this to me! Do you know who I am? I am a member of the Red Sun Corp! Our president Hong Lie is a B5-tier ancient warrior!"

Tian Yan hoped that this would stop Qin Feng from doing what he was about to do.

Still, Tian Yan did not know just what Qin Feng had been through. So what if the man was a B-tier aptitude user? Qin Feng had murdered the sh*t out of these people before.

Nonetheless, despite the news of Guang Wei's death that had shook Beihua City, it only lasted for a while. In fact, killing a general from the Human Alliance, despite him working together with the Dark Coalition, was not enough for people to forget and forgive this quickly. The truth was, the news was suppressed quickly by Shang Han.

Everyone at Dragon Capital now knew that Qin Feng was a prodigy. However, did they know that Qin Feng was the one who slayed all those other prodigies in the Perished Lands?

They thought that Qin Feng could not last that fifteen days. Yet, Qin Feng was able to accomplish something that no one had been able to before. Even the A-tiers thought he was just a mere newbie.

Besides, that incident on top of Dragon Capital was only known by several inner circles. Most people outside did not know what happened.

Thus, the ones who knew about Qin Feng all feared him. As for the ones who did not, this was due to the bliss of ignorance!

"Bai Li, ask him why he needs that thing."

Colorful light radiated from Bai Li's eyes as she looked at Tian Yan. The man was now weaker than an F-tier ancient warrior; so, it was quite easy for her to make him sing anything she wanted to hear.

As expected, Tian Yan told them everything he knew almost immediately.

Now, Qin Feng knew everything.

"How unexpected. Due to me, things have changed so drastically!"

Qin Feng knew that during the timeline before he was reborn the Red Sun Corp used every favor and resource they had to expedite the 4th level of the unknown region. Many organizations knew about it.

Despite how much of a low profile they kept, news about them finding Jade Cape and the Godwill Atlas was known by a select few.

The mayor of Fu City was merely a D-tier at the time. However, the governor of the Three Cities along the Sun was a C-tier and was linked to another organization whose president was a B-tier aptitude user.

Thus, the two organizations clashed.

Right now, the Red Sun Corp's target had changed and was directed at Qin Feng instead. Now, there was no telling what they were planning next!

Still, no matter what happened, Qin Feng had no need to fear them. He would just take them on each time they threw something at him.

Thus, Qin Feng raised his hand as a surge of internal energy burst out of his fingers and penetrated Tian Yan's skull!

Tian Yan died in one shot, eyes wide open!

The people that appeared around Qin Feng were all higher-ups in the Fengli Organization.

Some of them did not personally know Qin Feng. This was also the first time they had seen Qin Feng kill someone. And they were so in awe when they saw that he could kill a C-tier aptitude user so easily.

They were so overwhelmed with awe and fear that they stood around him silently, not daring to say anything.

Qin Feng raised his head and looked around him. Despite not having done anything wrong, the crowd did not dare to look at him in the eye and lowered their gaze.

"Let's go back. We'll hold a meeting tomorrow. Attendance is compulsory!"

After saying this, Qin Feng walked away with Bai Li, leaving Tian Yan's corpse on the ground.

Wang Chen coughed out some blood as he approached Qin Feng.

"Boss!"

"Go home and rest. Let's talk tomorrow when you feel better." Qin Feng said as he lightly tapped on Wang Chen's shoulder. A string of gentle, warm internal energy flowed into Wang Chen's body, healing any internal injury that he had almost instantly.

Feeling much better now, Wang Chen nodded. "Alright. I'm glad you're back, boss. There isn't anything I want to say other than this!"

Qin Feng nodded before walking straight back home.

This night, despite the fact that their boss had finally come home, no one dared to visit and disturb Qin Feng at his home!

Standing atop of the highest building in the city, Qin Feng looked at the view below him. The Floating City kept floating menacingly above his head.

Bai Li stood next to him, wondering what he was looking at or what was on his mind.

"What's wrong? You're upset that Zhao Xiang became a traitor?" Bai Li asked.

Qin Feng shook his head. "Yes… and no!"

"Oh? You humans are so complicated. If it's yes, then yes. If it's no, then no! Why make it so difficult to understand?"

Qin Feng put his hand on her head and rubbed her silky hair gently. "There's something that is still too early for you to understand."

Then, he looked at the massive Fengli City below. "I could kill a B-tier easily. I could take on an A-tier now. Yet, despite owning Fengli, I don't have anyone under me who's at least B-tier. C-tiers are also quite limited under my reign!"

"Hence, despite the city's and organization's rapid development, they could not keep up with me. This has resulted in many having some funny ideas and wanting to grab Fengli for themselves. It's like Fengli is a massive, delicious cake and many have the idea of eating it whole… but they could not because they couldn't devour it in one bite! Now, they are getting increasingly anxious as the cake grows bigger and bigger!"

Chapter 566: Hong Lie's Thoughts

"Hmph!"

Bai Li harrumphed, much like how a discontented little girl would. "Exploiters? Fengli is ours, not someone else's. Who gave them the right to try and exploit us? We ought to just drive them all away!"

Qin Feng was surprised by her tone but ended up laughing from how dumbstruck he was.

"You're right. We should drive all the greedy people away!"

December came and brought with it snowflakes and a cooler climate that made many shrink their necks and shiver.

Fengli City had only been established for about a year and it was its first time hosting an end-of-year large scale conference.

That day, the originally rapidly expanding Fengli Organization had half of its staff members dismissed. With the internal part of the company facing such a drastic shift, the remaining staff began to become more alert. They had to be more careful about themselves if they wanted a future in this organization.

Shares were changed in the company after Qin Feng injected some of his own liquid assets into the mix and ended up owning 95% of the shares. Some of the original management shares were either lowered in returns or given back to the company. After all, the company had an Iron and Blood policy*.

Qin Feng stood behind the podium of the conference hall, looking at the others below.

These were the ones recruited when the Fengli Organization was first established. They would always stay in the city and become the city's backbone in the future.

He started to speak. "Among you, there are many who are seeing me for the first time. Of course, I hope that this wouldn't be the last time you do."

"Fengli will continue to grow in the future and these contributions might not be yours!"

The sentence was blunt and had no other meaning behind it!

"Remember, if you don't want to work under me then you can leave."

"Don't hold any other thoughts. Those who are capable, who are strong, would naturally have a higher status. Organizations like ours would always have the next generation coming up first!"

"If you don't want to fall behind, then train yourselves and fight harder! If you're just watching videos and not working hard then what's the point of it?"

"I don't have a lot of time to manage all of you much. Just be more self conscious and I won't leave you behind!"

Qin Feng exuded a terrifying presence from his body but he did not unleash his strength to coerce these people or use his consciousness to suppress them.

This was all just him.

And it was enough to shock everyone present.

Qin Feng gave everyone another look before withdrawing and stepping off.

"Dismissed!"

He quickly disappeared without a trace. It was only when he was gone that people could recollect themselves.

"That's our president? The governor of the Four Cities on the North Sea?"

"He wasn't unleashing any kind of aura, but I couldn't look directly at him when he was up there. Is that what it feels like to be around someone powerful?"

"Ugh, having the president personally reprimand us is embarrassing! This can be counted as the management's negligence!"

"Get stronger. Train harder. If we can't keep up with the president then someone's going to end up replacing us!"

Everyone had their own thoughts but they were all nervous after being reprimanded by Qin Feng. After thinking about all those who had been kicked out, those who remained did not dare to relax.

Qin Feng remained in Fengli City and only spoke to those in the Dragon Capital via his communicator. After all, things had already been carried on and the contract had begun.

Compared to the other aptitude users in Fengli, there was a place that Qin Feng found more comfort in.

Fengli's sole laboratory. Most of the people here were scientists who were just ordinary people.

A scientist was an occupation many ordinary people strived for.

Although they would not be as unscrupulous as the life of an aptitude user, it was a lucrative job and if they were recognized then they would be living a good life.

What was more was that this job had the lowest chance of getting randomly killed by people!

By now, Qin Feng's laboratory had expanded exponentially, there was even a small basement that functioned as an underground research level.

Besides researching mutants, it was also where machinery was being engineered.

"How goes the advanced C-tier beast king experiments?"

"We're still at a 50% risk factor. We don't have enough data and we can't do live experimentation!" The head scientist had been changed recently but that was not important.

"Don't even think about keeping live specimens!" Qin Feng said in a serious tone. "We're different from the Dark Coalition. If you want data then I'll go out and find some for you. Until then, just do your best!"

"Yes, President, Sir!"

Qin Feng went on to inspect the mechanical research wing and introduce to the scientists there the technology that he had picked up while he was in the Perished Lands for them to research on before leaving.

After that, he called his contacts in the Dragon Capital to look for another piece of information.

The Z Organization!

"Back then, I couldn't find the whereabouts of the Z Organization. Could it be because I knew too little?"

After being reborn as a prodigy, Qin Feng learned that the results of being in a different circle of aptitude users were vast.

Like the Dragon Gate Tower. Without the status of being a prodigy, you could not enter at all and if you missed it then you would have missed a once in a lifetime chance.

Although he had not been in Beihua City for a long time due to him clearing ultra beasts on the battlefield but since he was B-tier he would eventually end up knowing things that people of his caliber would naturally know.

Wei Hai did not know what was riling up Hong Lie so much but he bit the bullet and said, "Yes, it's him!"

"Ridiculous!" Hong Lie said angrily, "He's a prodigy, a prodigy that made it past the Dragon Gate Tower. Do you know what that means?"

"Sir, we, we just thought that he might be dead and even if he wasn't dead, it was just to get a few things. Who would have thought that he would personally return and kill Tian Yan!"

"Bullsh*t, he's the president of Fengli. You pull someone's legs, wouldn't they kick back? If someone tried to touch you, you think I'd just stand by and watch?"

Wei Hai was still completely oblivious and remarked, "Sir, how can he compare to you? He's just a C-tier of some backwater state!"

"Shortsighted!" Hong Lie angrily yelled but realized that there were things that he could not tell his subordinate. Such as the fact that while Qin Feng was C-tier, he could still kill B-tiers.

"You don't need to follow up on this matter anymore, I'll handle this myself! Remember, don't try to act smart otherwise in the end you wouldn't even find out how you died!"

Once he was done talking, Hong Lie used his contacts to seek out Qin Feng so he could make reconciliation.

*Translation: 'Iron and Blood' was part of a speech given by Otto von Bismark in September 30 1862. It means a focus on manpower more than anything else.

Chapter 567: Let's Work Together

Inside Fengli City.

Perhaps it was due to Qin Feng's return that the atmosphere of the city experienced a drastic change. Work efficiency had doubled and everyone was holding themselves with strict discipline with no thoughts of doublecrossing or inherent cheekiness.

Qin Feng did not care if this was just an act for his sake or that these people already had this in mind. The ones he had knocked off were already knocked off, if things had remained like before then it was not his fault for lacking mercy!

"Beep beep beep!"

His communicator rang, it had been busy these few days. Qin Feng did not even look at who was calling and accepted it immediately.

He was a little surprised by who was calling after he accepted the call.

"General He!"

Qin Feng exclaimed, brows raised with doubt. Why would He Liming be calling him?

He Liming was one of the people that audited Qin Feng when he applied for the position of governor for the Four Cities on the North Sea. He was also the one who refuted Guang Wei back then.

Unfortunately, Guang Wei succeeded in the end and Qin Feng was marked as a wanted criminal.

Regardless, Qin Feng still had a very good impression of the man!

He was just caught off guard was all.

"Governor Qin! I hope you've been well since we last met?" He Liming smiled faintly. He did not carry the arrogant tone higher-ups used when speaking to those that ranked lower than them in the way he spoke, putting himself and Qin Feng at the same position.

Of course, it would be difficult to speak formally to Qin Feng. He Liming knew how tough he was, as well as how bold. Bold enough to kill Guang Wei and get out of the situation scott free. Whether it was schemes, power and status, Qin Feng lacked none of them!

"I'm fine. What's going on with you, General He?"

"Haha, I wouldn't be calling to just say hello!" He Liming quickly said before smiling, "There's an old friend of mine who came to me and asked me to help me seek you out. If possible, he would like to meet you in the Consciousness Realm!"

Qin Feng was surprised, what was so important that they needed to meet and talk about?

Despite being surprised, he did not ask why. He Liming was only the messenger after all.

"You don't know who it is?"

"Not someone from the Northern Region! I think you'd know them. It's a high-ranking member from the Red Sun Corp, Hong Lie!"

The color of curiosity suddenly flickered in Qin Feng's eyes.

"I see. For your sake, General He. I'll attend this meeting!"

"Haha, thank you then Governor Qin!"

Qin Feng then took out the consciousness connector and entered the Consciousness Realm. He quickly received an invitation to enter a very special manor!

It was Hong Lie's private space. Within the Consciousness Realm, such places could be constructed for the sake of meeting guests.

Hong Lie was already waiting inside!

"President Qin, good to meet you!"

"Oh, I'm a little surprised to see you President Hong!" Qin Feng said and shook hands with Hong Lie. It looked like he was being indifferent but others might have seen him as not being enthusiastic.

This was normal though. While Qin Feng and Hong Lie had no beef with one another, their subordinates had come into conflict after all.

"I assume you've called me to accuse me, President Hong?" Qin Feng asked.

It made sense. Qin Feng killed one of his C-tier subordinates. That alone would make anyone angry.

That would be the same as the guy who almost killed Wang Chen, incited Qin Feng's fury and made him dare to offend a B-tier organization.

"Hah, how would that be possible? There must be some misunderstanding, a misunderstanding! I'm completely unaware of Tian Yan's actions, otherwise I wouldn't have let him do such a foolish thing!" Hong Lie explained quickly.

Qin Feng cocked a brow. He naturally understood what Hong Lie was doing, he was trying to calm things down.

In that case, Qin Feng had no reason to continue being indifferent!

"In that case, I've mistaken you as well President Hong!"

"I've been impressed by you for a long time President Qin, it's time we get acquainted with one another!" Hong Lie said.

Qin Feng seemed to be smiling. Hong Lie looked carefree and proud, and by now if the situation had gone differently he would have been coughing up teeth.

He did not try to push the matter, what was in the past was in the past.

Afterward, they spoke casually with one another. Originally, Hong Lie believed Qin Feng to be some stubborn brat and planned on skirting around his volatile nature. To his surprise he found out that Qin Feng was quite calm and collected. He did not speak much but when he did it enlightened people.

Originally he had wanted to contact Qin Feng again before making the decision.

Even though he had not noticed it, the few words that Qin Feng spoke were leading him on, unconsciously guiding Hong Lie.

This kind of method, apart from Hong Lie lowering his guard due to Qin Feng's age, was also due to Qin Feng's cleverness.

Of course, Qin Feng would be the 40 and Hong Lie would be the 60!
