Chapter 179: Dark Coalition

It was not something one would see everyday, a hover limousine trailing a long track of old-time trucks.

"The hover car doesn't plan to overtake us it seems. Why is the driver following us?" One of the gunners frowned and spoke restlessly through the communicator, which stayed connected to the entire security troop.

"Should I shoot the car?"

"Are you crazy? What if there is a big gun in there? Suit yourself if you want to tempt fate but don't drag us down with you."

"I will kill him instantly if he is only an F-tier aptitude user."

They watched the limousine warily. The car continued to tailgate them after a distance.

The guards grew restless as the convoy entered a valley between two mountains.

Bang!

The sound of an unanticipated gunshot echoed through the valley and blood immediately spurted out from one of the G-tier gunners. His body tumbled lifelessly and rolled down from the truck.

"We are under attack!" Another gunner shrieked in high pitch like a lady and startled others on watch.

But none of them could locate the enemy. It was either because the enemy was too far away or a more powerful gunner from the opponent's team had shielded their consciousness from them.

Gunners on the outside were annihilated swiftly while those inside dared not show themselves.

The ambushers removed their camouflage after they saw no retaliation from the guards. They were only a small unit of twenty men. The operation was a huge success because they managed to catch the convoy completely off guard.

The team protecting the trucks shouted angrily when they saw their ambushers approaching down from the mountain.

"F*ck them! Brothers, let's move and avenge our fallen comrades!"

A few ancient warriors were prepared to dash out. Of course, there would not be an ability user in such an average security team.

This was when the limousine hidden behind the giant trucks began to whirr loudly.

Buzz!!

The rhythmic hum of the luxury car machinery was a melody to the ears. The hover limousine escalated abruptly and flew over the truck in front of it.

It then promptly landed in between the two groups of people.

Both the Serpent Battalion and the security guards were riddled by the intrusion.

Those from the Serpent Battalion assumed that he had come to the aid of the convoy. The intruder was probably hard to deal with judging by the limousine he or she was driving.

While those from the security team took Qin Feng as a foe. After all, it would be too coincidental for the ambush to take place right after his car had suddenly appeared behind them in a no man's land.

The door on the driver's side slid open when the two parties were still busy guessing the intruder's identity.

The gunners from the Serpent Battalion did not think much and fired rapidly at Qin Feng.

However, the bullets stopped short at about one meter in front of Qin Feng.

"Reflect!" Qin Feng uttered coldly and all the bullets traveled back to where they came from at an even greater speed.

"Sh*t!"

Ancient warriors standing in front of the party were staggered and rapidly drew out their weapons to shield themselves against the incoming bullets.

Some of the bullets were deflected but not everyone reacted in time. Many were hit and fell down, groaning in pain. More than ten fighters had their legs hit during this exchange.

Qin Feng got down from the car slowly. His silver battle suit was eye-catching enough but the palm-sized badge in front his chest stood out even more. A large letter E was engraved on the badge.

Those from the Serpent Battalion were stunned.

They had investigated the convoy thoroughly before making the move. Where did this E-tier aptitude user come from?

They wanted to question but to their surprise, they could not make any sound as if a giant hand was gripping their throat. It was the overwhelming conscious energy emanated by Qin Feng that had forbidden them from talking. Qin Feng's aura caused the lower tier aptitude users to gasp for air and hunch involuntarily.

A gunner from the Serpent Battalion could no longer withstand the pressure and kneeled to the ground.

Qin Feng looked him in the eyes and spoke solemnly, "I will not kill you as long as you answer my questions."

The man nodded and said, "I will tell you everything."

Qin Feng smiled satisfyingly.

"Which organization are you guys serving?"

"Serpent. We call ourselves the Serpent Battalion. I just joined the Dark Coalition recently and have never killed anyone. I was being forced into this."

Qin Feng retracted his smile and pierced the man in front with his cold sight. He became even more traumatizing than before.

"Argh!!" Some succumbed entirely to the pressure and could not raise their heads.

Qin Feng choked the man and chastised, "Did you think that your lies will work on me?"

The guy trembled and replied very much terrified, "I am not lying! I swear!"

Qin Feng turned the guy's neck violently and he almost fainted. Cold sweat was all over his neck due to fear, and Qin Feng could clearly see the tattoo he was looking for.

Qin Feng sneered. "Now tell me, what's with this tattoo?"

The guy's iris narrowed after he heard Qin Feng's question but he was not the only one who reacted to the question.

Qin Feng was extremely sensitive and immediately pinpointed the man on the ground with stiffened muscles. His gaze fell straight on the target.

The man initially dropped his head to avoid eye contact but immediately raised his head again as he remembered something. Nonetheless, that short instance was more than enough for Qin Feng to notice the tattoo.

'So, you have it as well.' Qin Feng paced toward the man.

"Let me go. I don't understand what you are saying!" The young man in his grip was struggling to escape.

Qin Feng approached his target and stepped on the person's back mercilessly. He then crouched down and forcefully pushed his hand against the F-tier aptitude user's head.

The tattoo on the back of his neck was clearly in sight now.

Chapter 180: Clue about Z Organization

This man also had a tattoo and probably knew more. After all, he was an F-tier aptitude user.

Qin Feng continued to scan the group. They had no way to hide from Qin Feng's piercing sight.

Under the extreme heat, a test tube exploded and oozed out mysterious looking blue liquid.

Qin Feng finally stopped tormenting the man.

"Mutant experiment? Hmm?" Qin Feng snorted at the man.

The F-tier aptitude user was in too much pain. Qin Feng's attack was so rapid that he did not even have the chance to muster a scream.

Qin Feng managed it professionally. He broke the hostage's teeth to prevent him from biting his own tongue. Burning his hair was to confirm there was not any hidden bug. He then proceeded to break his limb and snatched away his communicator to completely handicap the hostage. Finally, burning off the clothes was to ensure that the hostage had nothing else hidden underneath that might overturn the situation.

His thorough vigilance was proven vital as he uncovered the syringe shot.

Qin Feng then turned his gaze back onto the young man.

"You can try to move if you wish to turn out like him." Qin Feng threatened.

"No. Please, no!!" The young man was deeply frightened and devastated.

Qin Feng grabbed him and stacked him on top of his accomplice. He then drew out a gun.

"Please, don't kill me!" The young man yelled.

Qin Feng took out a thumb-sized bullet and loaded it into his silver gun.

A white spider net appeared out of the muzzle after the trigger and cloaked the two men. Qin Feng gave them a kick to wrap them inside the net.

He then picked them up and stuck them to the top of the car.

Just as Qin Feng was about to step inside his car, an F-tier ancient warrior from inside the truck approached him and expressed his gratitude. "Thanks for your help. We have a lot of "goods" in the truck. Do you wish to pick one and bring back?"

Qin Feng looked at him. He did remember his name—Liu Heng.

This man was just an average fighter and was killed instantly during the ambush in his past life.

However, Qin Feng reckoned he was probably fairing much better in management and trade. Otherwise, he would not have chosen this business.

The girl glanced back at him before the door was shut.

Decomposing blaster was one of the strongest guns within the small-sized firearm range. From the bottom of the hierarchy, there were fire blasters, energy blasters, decomposing blasters, and topped with others that were more powerful, hence, mastering the combat power of the decomposing blaster as an E-tier would definitely pose as a great threat to others.

It was almost equivalent to a silver rune firearm.

The mutant that had mastered the decomposing blaster was only mildly mutated, but with his mutated eyes and nose, it was still obvious that he had mutated into a hawk species.

With his enhanced vision, he was even capable of motion visualization, and it was only because of the confusion from Qin Feng's Phantom Motion Steps that he was able to dodge the attack earlier!

Fresh blood was shed across the entire laboratory.

Qin Feng was like a devil that had descended upon them.

None of them could escape alive.

Chapter 184: Test Subject 051

Qin Feng quickly arrived at the most important spot in the entire laboratory.

The storage room.

The babies were kept separately in glass boxes, each with different artificially-generated climates. So much effort invested, just to keep these tiny little beasts alive.

Seeing these little growing monsters, Qin Feng's expression turned ever colder.

Despite being stored in individual isolation chambers, a dark aura appeared out of thin air beside the little beasts. Since there was no one around, this darkness spread all over the defenseless fledglings, squeezing every bit of breath out of their tiny lungs.

That was not all. Every single chamber burst into flames, turning it into mini crematoriums for these already dead infants.

With each step, the isolation chamber closest to Qin Feng would start burning like a bonfire. Everyone would know that this was his doing but there was nothing they could do to stop him.

They were as powerless as the babies writhing about in the flames.

"Wh-who are you!? Why are you destroying our lab!" One of the researchers questioned with a trembling voice.

There was nothing but pure hatred in Qin Feng's gaze.

"Is it not normal for the research facility of a black organisation to be burnt down to the ground? Why would you even bother asking something so stupid!?" Qin Feng taunted.

The researcher half-assedly tried to cover up the truth. "No, we're not a black organisation. We're just a regular research center!"

"A research center that experiments on mutants that is! One that once robbed caravans and used actual human beings as test subjects! To think that you guys would even abduct an ability user to your lab! You dare tell me that this ain't a black organisation!? You certainly have the balls to say such nonsense!"

Qin Feng inched closer.

"Ahhhhh!"

Scared senseless by Qin Feng's intimidating presence, one of the researchers broke down mentally and started wildly firing the weapon in his hands. It was naught but a tranquiliser, hence Qin Feng did not even flinch. Stepping to the side, he effortlessly dodged the dart.

His predatory eyes were now locked onto that researcher. "The sins that you have committed, don't tell me you've forgotten all about them? You dare tell me now that this is merely a regular research facility? What else are you gonna tell me? That your experiments are for the greater good of mankind!?"

Hearing Qin Feng's words, the researchers smirked in unison.

"That's right! Our experiments will drive humanity forward! We will retake the globe and once these rifts are stabilised, we will be the ruling overlords!"

"Our actions are justified!"

"You have no right to kill us! You should join our ranks instead!"

Qin Feng knitted his brows.

"For the greater good of mankind" were the exact words that Qin Feng heard from the researchers back in that laboratory just outside Chengbei colony.

It surprised even him that these people would react so strongly. How dare they use such nonsensical lies to try to win him over.

Bai Li, who was hiding behind Qin Feng, peeked out to observe the researchers.

"Hubby, I think they've also been hypnotized!"

Qin Feng scanned these unruly men. He was not too sure about the hypnosis thing but he was sure that these people were brainwashed to the core.

"If that's so, then why don't you guys experiment on yourselves first?" Qin Feng mocked.

As much as they were fanatics, these people looked away from Qin Feng, acting as if they had not heard his question.

To turn themselves into something that was neither human nor monster. What was more, they would grow weaker from battle by the day and their lifespan would reduce drastically.

How could they do such a thing to themselves?

They were researchers, precious assets. Only those stupid brutes would sell their lives just to obtain more power.

Seeing the reactions of these men, Qin Feng sneered.

"Seems to me that you guys are more executioners than researchers!"

Qin Feng continued striding forward, burning the infants encased within the isolation chambers into black crisp.

These researchers had nowhere to run.

At this moment, the main door of the other room was pushed open. A look of fear surfaced on most of their faces but seeing Qin Feng inching closer, they all decided to run into the room together.

In such a situation, no one was scarier than Qin Feng.

Just as they had entered the room, screams of agony echoed through the laboratory. Soon, the metallic smell of blood came washing over Qin Feng's senses.

He sneered. Using his consciousness, he already knew what had happened within the room.

However, not even an ounce of remorse was felt.

Confidently, he walked into the laboratory.

Within the room, there were test subjects that appeared even more grotesque than the infant room from before.

Unfortunately, it was likely that these were once living, speaking humans that had mutated under the researchers' inhumane experiments. That, or they had been injected with medication that irreversibly turned them into these monsters.

Buzz Buzz Buzz!

Several operation stations were switched on, releasing the creatures from their shackles.

Some of the mindless mutants that had recovered their mobility tore the researchers, whom they were supposed to be familiar with, into shreds. Needless to say, they were going to do the same to Qin Feng, the outsider.

Qin Feng was now the target of these man-made beasts.

Thousands of mutants swept toward Qin Feng like a tidal wave.

"Hellfire Carpet!"

In a split-second, the entire laboratory turned into a sea of flames.

A number of high-tech machineries started beeping like crazy, some just exploded like bombs in the fiery hellscape. From these exploded machines, live electrical sparks were sent flying across the room, electrocuting these mutants, causing them to wail in pain.

These were humans who had mutated from being injected with a beast king's genes. Still, they were nothing but inferior products of botched experiments.

Their numbers did not faze Qin Feng. One by one, he executed these mutants, turning the laboratory into ground zero of a bloody massacre.

Suddenly, the remaining speaker in the room that was operational blared out. It was Professor Wang's voice.

"Bastard! 051, Kill that man! I'll grant you freedom if you bring me his head!"

Qin Feng instinctively shifted his gaze over to the largest isolation chamber that he had yet to destroy. Right then, the steel-reinforced door to that chamber rolled open but whatever mutant that it housed did not come out.

Upon closer inspection, Qin Feng discovered that inside the room was not a monster but a weird-looking man.

His hair was multi-colored, his lips were completely black and his fingernails, jade green. While he was no monster, he looked as revolting as one.

Apart from those features, there was virtually nothing about him that resembled an ultra beast. And yet, the aura emanating off him was that of a king-tier ultra beast.

And his abilities, it was E-tier!

Hearing Professor Wang's voice, he slowly looked up at Qin Feng.

"You mean it?" The man who the professor referred to as 051 asked.

"Of course! Have I ever lied to you!?" Professor Wang screamed through the mic.

051 was surprisingly compliant to the Professor. He slowly got up from the ground and walked out of his containment chamber.

It was at this moment that Qin Feng noticed how small this man was. His footsteps were light, almost weightless and he walked at a casual pace.

"Oh ho?" 051 turned toward Bai Li with a suspicious look. "You're also a second-stage experiment yourself, aren't you? Seems like your experimenters did a better job!"

Bai Li's brows furrowed. "What second-stage?"

051 smiled. "Just like me, you can still retain a human form. Though, you also possess the powers of an ultra-beast!"

Bai Li rolled her eyes. It was just an ability she was blessed with, why did humans like to make a big deal out of it?

Qin Feng, on the other hand, was more alarmed.

Sure enough, runes that glowed green appeared out of thin air. These runes permeated the room, dyeing every corner of the room in the same green hue.

"Poison!" Qin Feng quickly concluded.

"That's right! My ability is poison! Such is the power of the Rainbow Rodent!" 051 exclaimed.

Chapter 185: Collusion

The Rainbow Rodent was a special type of mutant. Its origin was not extra-dimensional but developed from the over-polluted corners of this planet.

In comparison to the extra-dimensional creatures that come from beyond the rift, its size was not something to boast about. On average, they grew to about a meter long but the emphasis was not on size but what was contained within—a type of toxin.

This toxin was what made people tremble in fear when encountering it.

Ever since the apocalypse, the first S-tier threat came from a tidal wave of these Rainbow Rodents that swept across the continent.

Its toxicity was comparable to the Hell Stone's polluting source.

To put it simply, it was extremely lethal.

Boom!

The air around Qin Feng burst into flames.

The runes clashed as the strength of the toxin grew. Since the rune's attribute was that of wood, extreme levels of heat should be able to destroy the toxin.

Qin Feng maintained the burning flames, turning him into a man of fire.

In the next moment, his body moved.

His hand that held the Verdant Emperor Saber was raised high up in the air, ready to slice apart the enemy.

051 however, had vanished into thin air.

He was moving faster than lightning!

Still, Qin Feng was no tortoise either. He had yet to unveil the tricks up his sleeve after all.

"Dark Shroud!"

Darkness descended from the ceiling, swallowing up the entire room. Everything around them turned blurry in an instant, startling 051 for a moment. He did not expect Qin Feng to possess such an ability.

"Poison Gas!"

In retaliation, 051 released his toxins. Apart from the bodies that littered the floor, virtually everything else in the laboratory was covered in a thick layer of mist, with a blend of green and black.

Professor Wang, who was monitoring the security footage, was completely blind to the battle that was unfolding below.

That only made the uncertainty he felt in his heart grow greater and greater.

"Damn it! There's no other choice. Guess I'll have to leave this place. We can't continue using this lab, not after it's been discovered by an outsider. What a bloody shame!"

This particular laboratory had already been operating for five years. It was through their hard work over the past few years that they had managed to expand its operational capacity to be able to produce a test subject as fine as 051.

Fortunately, he was able to save the most important thing which was crucial data obtained from those experiments, in the nick of time. If they were able to successfully move to another research center then all was not lost yet.

Since this laboratory was not single-handedly established by Professor Wang alone, he did not feel too emotionally attached to this place. Perhaps giving up this place would open up an opportunity for him to join an even more interesting research program.

With those self-reassuring thoughts, Professor Wang retrieved a memory drive.

Considering how far they had come in their scientific research, the amount of data stored within this memory drive was impossible for a mere human brain to be able to grasp. Only with the help of technology could they store so much information so compactly.

And while the Professor was engrossed in his own thoughts, the battle in the laboratory was only getting more intense. The mixture of flames and toxins was so volatile that it made the entire room distort.

Both the combatants' current conditions were vastly different.

051 was already out of breath. No matter how fast he could go, Qin Feng's body had better endurance. Under a prolonged but highly-intense battle, the one with a clear disadvantage was naturally 051.

There was a great disparity in terms of their abilities!

In the mist of green and black, the gap was closed between the toxic rat and the burning flames.

051 knew very well that Qin Feng was inching closer to him by the second. Because of the burning flames shielding him against his opponent, Qin Feng remained unscathed by the toxicity of the mist.

"Pshh!" 051 squirted a mouthful of spit at his opponent. The ball of fluid was a shade of purple so deep that it surprised even Qin Feng.

And when that purple blob clashed with the flames, it exploded like a bomb, spraying purple fluid in every direction. On the floor where some of it was splattered, large craters were created. If it were to make contact with a human body, the consequences would undoubtedly be grave.

Though, that did not happen and the expression on 051's face changed. Qin Feng was nowhere to be seen where he was supposed to be standing.

In the next moment, a chilling aura came washing over him from the left. Qin Feng's moves under the cover of darkness were damn near impossible to predict.

Boom!

Qin Feng's fists, which thrusted into 051's abdomen, made a thundering boom, showing just how much force was funnelled into that single hit.

"Argh!"

051 yelled out in pain. His entire body was sent flying backward from the immense force, smashing into the glass wall of the room from which he had walked out from.

This glass wall was military-grade stuff, custom made to be able to withstand even the strongest of all attacks. 051's collision with the glass wall merely created a crack that spread out like a spider's web rather than shattering it entirely.

After all, this glass was an observation panel made to prevent 051 from escaping the room. If not for Qin Feng's overpowered punch, then logically speaking, this crack should not even exist.

Without cutting his enemy some slack, Qin Feng rushed forward with saber in hand.

"Blooming Flame!"

A fire covered the area from floor to ceiling, removing all prospect of escape for 051!

Without even the time to get over the pain from the previous hit, nor the pain from the bones Qin Feng had just shattered, he got up on his feet and ran for his life!

Crash!

The entire pane of glass was shattered by Qin Feng's saber.

Qin Feng's second attack came in the form of a Fire Beam which cut through the toxic fog, overwhelming 051.

"AHH!"

051 once again, soaked up the attack which inflicted severe injuries on his body.

This was not a fair battle between rivals. No, it was more like a game of cat and mouse where 051 was placed at a severe disadvantage!

"Wait! Hold up! Let's call it a truce and we'll talk our way out of this!" 051 yelled out but his legs kept on running. His animalistic instincts told him that the danger was far from over so he dared not slow down his pace. One after the other, he dodged Qin Feng's relentless attacks.

"What is there to talk about?"

Qin Feng stood still not far from 051. If he detected even the slightest movement, he would start killing.

After all, 051 had already exhausted his strength. Qin Feng was not in the mood to face further hassles.

"Why are you here? Perhaps I know something about the laboratory that you want to know about? I know more about this place than Professor Wang because I'm a test subject myself. I've spent a full five years here at this place. That old fart has only been here for little over a year."

Qin Feng's eyes lit up amidst the darkness.

Who would have thought that this test subject managed to survive such a long time in this place? If what 051 said was true, then Qin Feng's interest was piqued.

Though, Qin Feng was no idiot.

"Who knows? You might still be one of their lackeys." Qin Feng said coldly.

"If I were one of them then I wouldn't be locked up in a cage, right?" 051 sarcastically replied.

"Let's get down to the basics. What's this organisation called?" Qin Feng started his interrogation.

No longer sensing any danger, 051's footsteps slowed down to a halt. Since slowing to a halt took an equally significant amount of energy as speeding up, realisation set in that he had three broken ribs and his entire back was burnt black. Each step he took was so painful that he could die.

"The codename for this organisation is Z. It operates like a black organisation. It has big brothers from different factions funding it so I gotta say, it's quite powerful!"

Qin Feng was taken aback by the sudden discovery.

Funded by big brothers from different factions?

Lin Zheng immediately popped into his mind. Though, to both Qin Feng and 051, Lin Zheng was less of a big brother and more of a pathetic D-tier user.

"Then, what is the goal of their research? There's a pretty big difference between your condition and the condition of the humans-turned-mutants!"

051 nodded in agreement. "They're researching how to awaken the abilities of regular humans, how to turn them into ancient warriors and stuff like that. It is too difficult, too costly to study the heaven and earth spirit aura so most of the test subjects come from earthly beings that have undergone the greatest mutation. The exotic-looking cats, pigs, bears, rats and birds that you see within Fu City were what fueled their research!"

Qin Feng recalled the viper that he had encountered back at Chengbei colony, and that werewolf species that accompanied Chen Ming's emergence.

Those creatures were commonly found in the land around Chengbei colony.

Perhaps to further add to Qin Feng's curiosity, 051 continued, "No matter the test subject's initial level of strength, once they are injected with specific genomes, they would all grow to the same level as the creature from which the gene was sourced. Though, too many people who were too weak succumbed to its effects after being injected!"

Chapter 186: Energy Cannon

"The G-tier ones are merely semi-finished products. Since their genes have been infected by a foreign strand, they would mutate halfway into a beast, losing all chances of returning to their human form. They're pretty weak to be honest, around the strength of an ancient warrior, maybe even less. All in all, they're worthless and would be considered a failed bunch by the researchers."

"F-tiers can regenerate parts of their bodies that had been wounded in battle by stimulating the release of healing substances. These ones, on the other hand, stand on par with a beast general or even a king. They are, in other words, a great leap in terms of durability as well as combat capability from the former tier! However, the setbacks are also pretty clear. They'd lose their human intellect and the regeneration process can only be done after the battle, when the body is somewhere safe."

"As for an E-tier being… well, you're looking at one. My kind can possess the strengths of a mutant while simultaneously retaining our human form. Though, as you can see, there would be some changes to certain parts of our body, like the hair, pupils, fingernails, etc. Not all is perfect is what I'm trying to say."

"Then, were there no D-tier, C-tier mutants created from these experiments?" Qin Feng murmured.

"I do think they exist. They're gonna be much stronger, and naturally, the goal of their research would be different than ours. From what I've experienced, the researchers threw me in all sorts of experiments, trying to turn me into a complete beast!"

051 was strong, but he was far from being the strongest. For one, he definitely was not on the same level as a beast king-tier Rainbow Rodent.

Though, should the day come where he advances into one, he would undoubtedly be able to hold off ten thousand men on his own.

Qin Feng knew well that for the D, C-tier beasts, the researchers' aim would no longer be to gain knowledge on the mutation process but to reverse-engineer high-tier ultra beasts' genes.

Perhaps, in the end, they would even be able to replicate the genes of a dragon.

Before Qin Feng's rebirth, back when he did not know about the Z Organization yet, there was already a significant number of mutants running around within the black organization.

He did not expect the R&D branch of Z Organization to be so well-established.

As both of them laid down arms, the black-green mist that shrouded the room gradually cleared away.

The room was in tatters and so was 051. Qin Feng on the other hand, was virtually unharmed in the intense skirmish. Though, even more eye-catching than Qin Feng's condition was Bai Li.

051 looked at her with widened eyes. It appeared that Bai Li was standing exactly where she was before the battle erupted; there were no signs of her moving away from the battleground. However, when 051 and Qin Feng clashed, he did not feel her presence, not one bit as the entire laboratory was trashed from floor to ceiling.

Bai Li of course, used her abilities to hide within a void which allowed her to observe the battle while being shielded against all attacks!

As 051's eyes remained glued to Bai Li, she suddenly opened her mouth and said, "Look closely at me!"

The aura of a beast queen erupted. Since all beasts adhered to the concept of hierarchy, the Rainbow Rodent acknowledged in an instant, that he was no match for the void beast no matter how capable he was.

Bai Li belonged to a species that reigned supreme at the top of the food chain.

In mere seconds, 051's mind was completely hijacked.

"Tell me about yourself before you came to this laboratory."

051's pupils enlarged and without a second of hesitation, he blurted out the truth completely, as instructed. "I was an orphan in Fu City. Upon graduation from middle school, I awakened my wood-attribute abilities and on the second day, I was abducted to this laboratory."

It never crossed Qin Feng's mind that he and 051 shared such a similar past. Unfortunately, this meant that many more before him had been abducted in the same fashion and many more would continue to go through such hardships.

051 had been here for the past five years. Before his rebirth, Qin Feng himself struggled in such a place for a full decade and thus, he dropped the final wall of defense against this poor man.

Bai Li nodded her head and released her consciousness that bound 051's mind. Recovering from his restrained mental state, he looked at Bai Li with terror in his eyes.

Such powers. How was it possible that she was able to use her consciousness against him, an ability user whose own consciousness was deemed by many, a force to be reckoned with?

"Yo-you… what are you!?" 051's paranoia reached its peak.

Bai Li replied to his question without second thoughts. "I am his girlfriend!"

Although there was nothing technically wrong with her introduction, was it not kind of weird to introduce oneself in such a straightforward way?

051 was stunned by Bai Li's words.

As most of the mist had cleared away, the surveillance camera footage was finally able to show the happenings within the destroyed laboratory.

Seeing Qin Feng unscathed and 051 slumped on the floor, Professor Wang's face grimaced.

"And to think that I had originally planned to get two bodies by the end of the day for research purposes. It seems that I have been too naive. If you want to act that way, so be it! Time for you all to die!"

Professor Wang pressed on a button labelled "open".

In the next moment, the ceiling of the chamber that once held 051 broke open. From the dark chasm above, a massive cannon descended.

In the muzzle of the massive cannon, an azure glow was intensifying.

The facial expressions of Qin Feng and 051 changed in an instant.

Never in his life had Qin Feng seen such a large piece of machinery. It was even larger than the energy cannons fixed on top of the walls of either Chengbei colony or Fu City.

For such a weapon to go off in an enclosed space, even an E-tier beast would suffer near-fatal wounds from the blast.

Humans, being the weak creatures they were, simply would not be able to withstand the cannonfire at point blank.

"Wang Ang, YOU, PIECE, OF, SH*T! F*****CK!", 051 yelled out hysterically.

How was it possible that in the past five years, 051 did not lash out like that when placed under threat?

To be honest, he was considered one of the more "obedient" test subjects within the laboratory. Despite his abilities increasing everyday, he dared not speak back against the researchers, let alone attack them. Of course, that was all in order to bide time before making his great escape.

And now, when hope was at its peak, despair unexpectedly set in 051's heart.

This was an upgraded energy cannon, with tremendous lethality. Though, the extent of its effects had been fine-tuned to cover just this laboratory. Upon firing, an energy net would be created, trapping everyone within its area of effect, turning this lab into an inescapable tomb.

While Rainbow Rodents were, as its name suggested, rodents, 051 did not possess the digging ability of rodents so the chances of escape was pretty much null!

As he soaked in despair, Qin Feng maintained his calm under pressure.

"Xiao Bai! Bring us away from here, him included!" Qin Feng pointed to 051.

In a fraction of a second, Bai Li, alongside Qin Feng and 051 disappeared into thin air.

Almost at the same time, a blinding ray enveloped the entire laboratory, vaporising the entire room including the surveillance camera.

Professor Wang cackled. Removing the data disk, he hurriedly ran out of the laboratory.

At that exact moment, the entire facility was flashing red.

[Self-destruct system activated—Self-destruction in 3 minutes!]

[Please exit the facility immediately!]

Professor Wang's pace was consistent but not too fast. One of the researchers who was still alive but had suffered heavy injuries reached out to the professor desperately. "Bring me with you, Sir. Professor, I'm not dead yet! You still need my help, don't you?"

Professor Wang did not even spare the man a look.

In the next instant, Professor Wang had already stepped into the emergency escape shaft. Turning on the ignition of a hover car, he escaped the place via a secret tunnel.

At the same time, Qin Feng, 051 and Bai Li reappeared on the great mountain which housed the research facility.

051 could not believe his eyes. He had finally escaped from his death.

"Hmph, let's see where you can go!"

Qin Feng was still piseed.

Soon after Bai Li had brought the both of them out of the laboratory, someone from the outside had activated the facility's self-destruct function. Qin Feng, not wanting to idle around the ticking time bomb, left the great mountain without giving chase to the damned professor.

Somehow, he felt that Professor Wang would make his appearance soon. Qin Feng was excited at the thought of seeing the professor's face at the sight of them outside the facility.

Qin Feng's consciousness expanded to cover the entire mountain. It was not even two minutes later that he noticed something jutting out awkwardly from a boulder. Sure enough, a massive cavity appeared and from within it emerged a hover car.

Chapter 187: Joint Revenge

Grasped in Qin Feng's hand was a mean-looking hand cannon.

Without hesitation, he switched off its safety mechanism, sending a live round flying toward his intended target. A wide, yellow arc appeared in the sky as it trailed the escaping hover car.

Professor Wang, who was seated in that very hover car, was wide-eyed at what was going on.

The interior of the hover car was filled with a beeping noise, alarming him that he was being locked on by a projectile. Still, there was nothing he could do to stop the force of the projectile.

Boom!

The projectile smashed into the body of the hover car, which was immediately covered by a bright ball of energy wave.

This light wave was a function that was mandatorily installed in every vehicle headed out for the battlefield. It served two functions. One, to blind enemy ultra beasts and two, to jam or confuse missiles launched at the vehicle from an enemy position.

However, this function would eat up a lot of energy and would not activate if energy reserves were running low for the vehicle.

Without a doubt, this projectile from Qin Feng was specially designated to take down E-tier ultra beasts. Under the control of his consciousness, it was not led astray by the vehicle's defensive mechanism and smashed through its energy barrier cleanly without suffering much damage itself.

The shimmering white ball in the sky gradually grew dimmer and soon, it turned completely transparent. In a split second, the shock from the explosion, as well as the kinetic energy, delivered by the projectile itself blasted the vehicle out of the sky.

At midnight, the roof of the house was leaking heavily as rain continued pouring from the sky. Suddenly, a loud noise coming from the mountains echoed through the air.

A massive shockwave followed the noise.

It was the self-destruct system activated by Professor Wang moments ago. The entire research facility was vaporised in an instant, suddenly creating a massive cavity within the mountain which in turn, had the effects of a large-scale earthquake for nearby lands.

Like a large boulder, Professor Wang's hover car rolled down the side of the mountain as it quaked.

Both Bai Li and Qin Feng climbed onto the umbra stallion and immediately made their escape from the massive shockwave that was going to hit them if they remained there for a moment longer.

051 did not fear the rumbling ground. Finding a random rock, he floated in mid-air using the power of his consciousness.

The only unfortunate one here was none other than Professor Wang!

Under Qin Feng's orders, the umbra stallion galloped over to the hover car's crash site. It did not take long for them to locate the escaping Professor Wang.

At this point, the mountain was no longer shaking as it was moments ago. Upon closer inspection, the inside of the vehicle was splattered red all over with the Professor's blood.

Just one glance was enough to tell them that this Professor Wang was already dead.

Perhaps this was what they called, "instant karma".

To be honest Qin Feng originally planned to spare the professor's life. He had a lot of questions that he hoped the professor would answer himself.

"There's this too!" Bai Li waved her hand in the air. She was holding a silver-looking button. No doubt, it was a spatial runic equipment.

"This must be something the guy wanted to bring with him! It's gotta have something to do with his research. So my attack wasn't in vain at all, huh?", Qin Feng muttered to himself. Having stumbled upon this, he had no choice but to take a closer look at what was in store for him.

"So, what do we do now?"

"Why, we leave this place of course! Since there was an explosion, the people living in the closest colony would definitely come investigating to see if a new rift has appeared or to see if an earthquake has happened."

Qin Feng had Bai Li retrieve their hover car. Both of them climbed onto the vehicle but 051 remained motionless on the ground below.

"Get on!" Qin Feng urged.

"That… how do you even open this thing? This is pretty neat ain't it!? I've never seen such a thing up close before!" 051 shuffled around nervously.

Before being abducted and brought to the laboratory, 051 was just a teenager. Now that five years that were filled with insanity and suicidal tendencies had passed, he had finally obtained his long-overdue freedom. Though unfortunate, he was left behind by the progress of technological development.

With each new day that passed outside the laboratory, the harder it got for him to accept what tragedy had befallen him.

Qin Feng empathized with the man. With the click of a button, the door of the luxurious car opened up inward, revealing its interior which looked like the room of a five-star hotel.

051 climbed into the car. At this moment, the threatening aura of an E-tier mutant had faded away, leaving only what looked like a country bumpkin setting foot in a car for the first time.

"Out here in this world, it is very rare for one to reach E-tier within five years' time." Qin Feng said nonchalantly.

051 responded with a wry smile. "Then, am I supposed to thank the lab?"

"Nah, not that. You should thank them for giving you powers to exact revenge on them instead. How does infiltrating and exposing these crooks sound? The both of us of course. We can work together!"

051 studied Qin Feng's face. His expression was calm so he was definitely not joking about that.

"Alright!" 051 replied. Though, most of the reason why he agreed so quickly was that he had nowhere else to go.

Qin Feng was not surprised by 051's response.

"Given your current powers, you should be able to lead a small colony of your own. However, since you're still a mutant, if anything unexpected happens, say for example, you losing your intellect, I'd have to bear the responsibility entirely on my own. For now, you should just rest in my colony."

"Okay! I swear I won't cause any problems!" 051 said while nodding.

"Don't sweat it. I'll create an identity for you when we get home. You should be fine if you get your hair dyed as well as some colour lenses. Whatever you're unfamiliar with, be patient and try learning about it. It's just five years' time."

"Okay!" 051 nodded. "Thank you, really!" he added.

The hover car's battle network system was much larger than the portable ones that were commonly worn on one's wrists. Qin Feng continued his explanations throughout the journey and allowed 051 to surf the web for better understanding of the current world.

In reality, not much had changed after five years.

Perhaps the only difference was that the human population had once again, dropped drastically. Though, where one colony fell, another would be established!

When considered as a whole, nothing much had happened in the past five years.

Qin Feng also took the chance to properly introduce himself and Bai Li to 051. Apart from that, he also consulted 051 for some opinions.

"What was your name before the whole abduction incident? Would you like to have it back or would you like a new one?"

"It's fine. Since I've grown accustomed to 051, let's just stick to this one!"

"Then, let's use its homonym[1]. We can't just call you a bunch of numbers can we?"

"Then, I'll choose Lin as my surname. As for my last name, Wuyi!"

After accepting his new name, Wuyi started checking the net while tending to his wounds. Qin Feng set the car on auto-pilot with Fengli colony as its destination before looking into Professor Wang's spatial runic equipment.

There were not many things stored within it—firstly, there were three unlabelled black cards that appeared to have been thrown in casually. Still, it contained a grand total of 150 million yuan. To think that Z Organization's research facility would possess so much cash on hand.

Apart from this, there were some petri dishes that contained random cell cultures. Ultra beast materials were few and far between, and lastly, there was this sealed box.

Wuyi's brows knitted the moment his eyes came across this box.

"I've seen them deliver such boxes before. They should contain confidential documents and a password is needed to unlock it. Apart from that, it also needs the right fingerprint, body temperature and pupil verification which must all match the original owner, else the item within would be destroyed immediately!"

Qin Feng sneered.

"After the apocalypse, human technology could no longer match supernatural abilities! Xiao Bai!"

Hearing Qin Feng's call, Bai Li raised her finger at the box.

One second later, the item supposedly stored within the box appeared out of thin air. It was a finger-length memory disk.

Chapter 188: Return to Fengli

So this was what Professor Wang wanted to take away with him.

Looking down at the memory disk in his hand, Qin Feng's expression turned cold and serious. Carefully, he inserted the disk into his communicator.

The moment the disk was inserted, a tidal wave of information from the disk overwhelmed his senses.

There were too many things that even Qin Feng was clueless about. Though, there was no need to study every little detail. No, he just needed to see what the end results were.

Upon seeing a list of names, Qin Feng fell silent.

This list contained the names of the people from Fu City who were funding the research facility.

His facial expression gradually changed.

It was apparent that this facility was not completely unknown within Fu City.

These people, whether voluntarily or not, had all given consent to the atrocities that were being conducted in their facility. It gave Qin Feng a feeling that the facility of this black organization had long entrenched itself within yet another colony.

Organizations like these were like incurable diseases, slowly eating away at the young and healthy people of the colonies.

'I guess from now on, we'll try to avoid Fu City at all costs? Thank God that the next big thing that'll happen won't be involving this damned city!' thought Qin Feng. 'But this Z Organization… just what are they? The more I find out about them, the more I'm impressed by them!'

Before Qin Feng's rebirth, he had been involved in numerous black organizations, each with similar degrees of research capability as this one. However, this one in particular was completely unheard of before, which made Qin Feng all the more curious about its existence.

The organization he was facing was entirely shrouded in mystery.

Anyhow, this obscure organization only served to fuel Qin Feng's motivation to continue digging around.

He needed closure for what he had experienced in his previous life.

And now, joining Qin Feng's rank was yet another person seeking revenge. With the newcomer's help, he believed that sooner or later, they would be able to dig this organization up and finish it off for good.

After travelling continuously for two days, the hover car had finally arrived at Fengli colony!

Half a month's time was enough for most of the colony's structures to be completed. Qin Feng's return was pretty much on everybody's lips.

"Big Boss, I can't believe that Fu City has awarded you guys with an E-tier aptitude user's badge!" Wang Chen congratulated Qin Feng and Bai Li after discovering the badges pinned on both of their chests.

While he knew that Qin Feng's ability was that of an E-tier user, being awarded an aptitude user's badge was a whole other matter.

This meant that his powers had been officially recognised by legal authorities.

One must consider the person's age when looking at this matter. Qin Feng was just sixteen years old or seventeen, come next month.

Having such powers at such a young age, this was pretty impressive!

"Yep, the stuff they give out there's the real deal!" Qin Feng replied. Though, he refrained from delving too deep about what this "real deal" was.

"I need your help. Get someone to buy some hair dye and a pair of colored lenses! Make him appear as normal as you can." Qin Feng said while pointing toward Lin Wuyi.

"Yes sir! I'll head off immediately!" Qin Feng's assigned secretary, Shang Na, replied in an instant. Though, before leaving the room, she did not forget to bow slightly to Qin Feng. Her eyes at that moment were filled with gratitude and loyalty.

"Sir, believe it or not, the person you brought back earlier is actually my aunt. Truly, thank you, Sir!" Shang Na said before exiting the room.

Wang Chen smiled at Qin Feng. "She's talking about that person who you've assigned the task to overlook the street-sweeping duties from before, the one called Shang Xian. Both of them are living together here now. With someone to count on, I think life for them wouldn't be as bad as it was before!"

Qin Feng nodded. The mood of his subordinates directly affected the effectiveness of the team as a whole; a grudge between him and his secretary would be significantly detrimental to their operations.

Han Town was a relatively small place. At this point, most of the survivors were being dug out by their own people. If they were to wait for Shi Tianhai to officially start the rescue campaign, the survivors would have been long dead!

Who cares!? At this day and age, strength reigned supreme. Now that Qin Feng had already reached E-tier, there was little Shi Tianhai could do to harm him no matter how much grudge he held in his heart.

It did not take long for Shang Na to return with some hair and immediately after that, she started dealing with his hair. Those who caught wind of Qin Feng's return soon came piling into the room to make their reports.

One of them was Liu Xue, who shouldered the most important responsibility—keeping an account of the inflow of goods into the colony.

Making sure that Xue Xingfu was not in the room, Liu Xue whispered into Qin Feng's ears. "Mayor, you've brought a ton of items back to our colony, huh? It's quite the injection into our local economy. Perhaps you might want to make some changes to the shares. Do you think that…"

If it were Liu Xue from before, speaking to Qin Feng in such a manner was completely out of the question. However, things changed after Qin Feng had obtained his new status as an E-tier user.

As the saying goes, a mountain cannot hold two tigers. Two strong voices running Fengli colony was obviously a brewing disaster waiting to unfold.

"Yeah, but I'd like to hold on for just a bit longer. It's still insufficient at this stage." Qin Feng replied. "I don't like to lose out on the deal but neither do I want to burn bridges that I have painstakingly built. If that day comes, I will definitely compensate Mayor Zheng!"

Liu Xue nodded in agreement.

The more Qin Feng's ability grew, the easier it was for Zheng Yang to accept the compensation.

Though, now was not the time to discuss such matters.

After that, it was Xue Xingfu, He Ling and Zhou Xiang's turn to give Qin Feng a report on the colony's security perimeter. Since autumn was coming, the number of ultra beasts would start decreasing so that was not too much of a problem.

When it was Xue Xingfu's turn to speak, what came out of his mouth stunned Qin Feng.

Xue Xingfu placed a gold-embossed invitation card onto Qin Feng's hands.

"Wanzong Organization's holding a transcendental auction at Sea City. If I may ask, who are you planning to send over this time, Big Boss?"

At such an auction, one would undoubtedly find countless precious items up for bid.

The auctions that the organization held were separated into three different tiers: heaven-tier, earth-tier and the final tier, the transcendental-tier.

The fancy names were more of a gimmick than anything. In actuality, the former two tiers were just your run-of-the-mill auctions offering low-level items to low-level bidders.

The items offered at such auctions would be E-tier at best. Perhaps a D-tier item would find its way in but such occurrences were extremely rare.

Of course, there were also large-scale private trade fairs that handled sub-par items which were mostly G-tier.

Even so, these G-tier items were what brought food onto the table for these low-level colonies.

Contrary to what one might believe, there was a large margin of profit to be made in such places.

"Let me come with!" Qin Feng replied immediately.

Xue Xingfu's puffy face glowed with excitement.

"If that's the case then how much capital do you plan to start with?"

Currently, the colony already had tens of thousands of black steel armor plates in its inventory. These could be used to exchange for cold hard cash which they could then use for transactions at the fair.

Qin Feng thought about it for a while before giving his answer. "I'll let you have 1 billion yuan's worth of goods. I need you to start work on Fengli's warehouse though, to house those goods!"

Xue Xingfu's eyes lit up.

Liu Xue on the other hand, was surprised by the mayor's decision. "But Sir, we don't have that kind of money!"

She was right. Those black steel armor plates were worth two to three hundred million at best.

"I know that. But that event's half a month away. We'll be able to come up with that amount somehow!" Qin Feng reassured her.

Liu Xue had no choice but to back down.

Now that the important stuff had been dealt with, it was time to create a new identity for his newfound friend, Lin Wuyi. The power Qin Feng commanded had grown significantly since the last time he was here. He managed to forge a new identity for the man with little to no effort and temporarily, Wu Yi was granted the status of an honorary elder in the colony.

To put it simply, Wu Yi did not necessarily need to perform any tasks and Fengli colony had to make sure that he was well-fed and well-clothed.

As for Qin Feng, together with Bai Li, they returned to Chengbei colony.

Since Fengli colony was just partially-completed, Chengbei colony was the closest city to them.

While handling Lin Wuyi's new identity, Qin Feng was reminded of something about Bai Li. It had been quite a long time since his last visit to that orphanage. He planned to take a break for a day and on the next day, he would pay Lin Derong a visit. He wanted to ask if he would like to move his orphanage over to Fengli colony.

Hopefully, Mayor Zheng would not blame him for baiting his citizens away. After all, talents like him were rare to come by!

Chapter 189: The Xin Family's Treacherous Banquet

Returning to a human colony from the killing fields, everything appeared tranquil—the metallic smell of blood that constantly lingered in one's senses was nonexistent and so was violence that plagued the battlefield. For once, Qin Feng was able to catch a good night's sleep without any disturbance.

On the second day, Qin Feng arrived at the orphanage.

The Qin Feng of today was completely different from what he was before.

He was an E-tier aptitude user now!

His identity reflected his social standing.

A passerby volunteering at the institution was wide-eyed bumping into Qin Feng.

"What's today's date? Why is such a significant figure coming to the orphanage!?"

Muttering to himself, he watched Qin Feng and Bai Li strut over to the director's office.

And at that moment, a noise came from behind the office's door.

"Director Lin! Why are you so persistent in doing things the hard way!? Do you really want me to go violent on you? You gotta be more careful when you are speaking to me! One twist and I'll snap your bones in two! Old geezer, you can't afford this injury y'know!?"

A slight anger could be heard in Lin Derong's voice when he replied.

"Oh ho, I have old bones, yes. So what if you snap them in half?"

Qin Feng's face contorted with anger.

Funneling internal strength into his feet, he arrived at the doorstep of the office within a few seconds.

Bang!

Without hesitation, he forcefully kicked open the door.

Sitting on Lin Derong's chair was an arrogant man with his legs disrespectfully placed above his work desk.

The sudden loud noise startled the gangster but he continued ignoring it, thinking that it was just another one of the teachers at the orphanage. Perhaps he was just here to beg for mercy at the sight of Lin Derong being threatened.

It was nothing but an ant's struggle, he assumed!

"Get the hell out of here! Your voice holds no weight here!" That gangster's voice boomed. It was an F-tier aptitude user with all his abilities maxed-out.

Recognising Qin Feng's silhouette, the anxious look on Lin Derong's face turned into one of surprise.

The surprised look on his face surfaced as soon as his eyes met the E-tier aptitude user's badge proudly displayed on Qin Feng's chest.

"Get the hell out of here? Me? Too bad! It's you who should piss off!" Qin Feng roared back.

With large strides, Qin Feng approached the man.

It was then that the gangster realised that his intimidation had no effect on Qin Feng. Originally thinking that he was just another hot-headed teenager from the orphanage, in the next instant he was pulled back by an immense force.

Alongside the chair, the man was sent head over heels backward.

Fortunately, he had made some preparations of his own. Pressing down on the armrest of the chair, he launched himself into the air before doing a backflip and landing flawlessly in front of Qin Feng.

Qin Feng's face was well-known across the city. Recognising that mug of his, the man called out in astonishment.

"Qin Feng!"

His brows furrowed.

Since the man recognised him, could it be that he was the cause of Lin Derong being on the receiving end of these threats?

The man scanned Qin Feng from head to toe, as if appraising a piece of antique. As soon as his eyes met the item on his chest, a jolt had visibly run through him.

E-tier!

Beads of cold sweat had appeared on the forehead of the once high and mighty man who threatened the director.

"What's the matter? Have you gone mute? Where did the man from before go?" Qin Feng prodded with bloodlust in his eyes.

If the enemy had any problems with him, they should just face him mano a mano instead of harming those around him like a bunch of cowards.

Whether it was Lin Derong or Zhou Hao, they were all men who had changed the trajectories of their lives through their own sheer effort. Qin Feng did not want to see anyone messing with these people because of him.

This was his way of rebelling against God.

Hearing Qin Feng's words, the man broke out in cold sweat.

The arrogant words that once spewed out of his mouth spewed out no more.

With great difficulty, he swallowed a mouthful of water. "Ma-mayor Qin, I am here in the name of the Xin family. We wanted to invite you to a banquet celebrating our lord's sixtieth birthday!"

Qin Feng sneered.

"You Xin people have a pretty unique way of inviting guests, don't you?"

Lin Derong recovered his vigor. He already had plans to go down fighting—better to die on one's feet than to live life on one's knees! Who would have thought that Qin Feng would be here to give him a much needed surprise.

It was just three months ago since his awakening injection but somehow, Qin Feng managed to grow his strength at such an alarming pace!

This defied heaven's laws!

"Every year, Lord Xin celebrates his birthday, they'd entertain guests from all around and at the same time, a little competition would be held to flex their might. Rewards would be handed out to all the young ones in their family who are participating in combat. Them inviting you to such a feast sounds like trouble to me!" Lin Derong whispered to Qin Feng.

This was the reason why Lin Derong turned down the Xin family's invitation.

However, it soon became apparent that the man had a change of plans. Lin Derong was to be knocked unconscious and taken away as bait to lead Qin Feng into the lion's den.

As if by fate, Qin Feng presented himself before the man could carry out his nefarious plan against the director.

With the director's words still fresh in his mind, Qin Feng had a rough understanding of the current situation.

"Sorry for startling you, Director!"

"This is nothing to worry about!"

On the surface, it seemed to be a relatively miniscule issue.

However, to the lackey of the Xin family, it was something he had to report back to the family as soon as possible.

Qin Feng turned over to look at the man. The warm, gentle smile that he had when facing Lin Derong had faded away in an instant, leaving just the face of a cold-blooded killer.

"If that's the case, I will be attending in place of the director! Pass me the invitation card!"

The man stumbled backward and searched the tabletop in panic. He picked up a fancy-looking card, its font embossed in gold, and nervously handed it over to Qin Feng.

"Mayor Qin, I won't be giving you anymore trouble since the card has already been safely handed over to you. Well then, please excuse me for my departure!"

Shamelessly, the man ran with his tail between his legs!

But how could Qin Feng let this man get away so easily?

It was disrespectful to just come and go so briefly—this was not a pit stop for a man like him.

If Qin Feng had not dropped by this place, God knows what would have happened to Lin Derong!

He must teach this bastard a lesson!

"Did I allow you to leave?" Qin Feng placed his hand on the man's shoulder to stop him from leaving. It was not that the lackey did not try to escape but instead, he found himself held back by Qin Feng's death grip.

"What was it that you said earlier? You wanted to snap the director's bones in two, I recall? Let's find out if you actually have the means to do that!"

His hand that rested on the man's shoulder clamped shut.

The crisp sound of bones breaking was perfectly audible. It appeared that Qin Feng had crushed the man's shoulder blades into powder.

"Arghhh!" The man let out a blood-curdling scream.

As if that was not enough pain inflicted, Qin Feng reached for the other shoulder.

Gritting his teeth, the man redirected his internal strength into his feet which propelled him forward, dashing away from Qin Feng.

Gaining immense speed within a split-second, this man ran in the direction left of Qin Feng before leaping high up into the air.

The sound of glass shattering filled the room. Without slowing down, the man smashed through the window and leapt out of the building.

Lin Derong's office was situated quite high up in the building; a normal human being would never be able to survive a fall from this height.

Though, the same could not be said for an ancient warrior. Like a wall-gecko, the man's feet remained stuck to the side of the building as he sprinted straight down, toward the ground.

Qin Feng hurried over to the window and as soon as he could, he channelled his internal strength into the glass shards that were still falling mid-air to prevent them from falling further and potentially harming innocent bystanders below.
