Time was frozen. As if everything was a blur in the moment. As if I was still there. As if I was held with a tight grip on my wrist, making me cry out as I looked at him straight in the eyes, Facing the emotionless automaton ordering me to obey. He smelt of gasoline and Alcohol; he acted as a brute not caring what laid before him, destroying all in his path.
Tears fell down my face with the smell of gasoline and alcohol lingered in my nose, being pulled back into the reality of the situation. Realizing that this wasn’t some creature or monster but a man who was making the choice to take what he wanted, even if it meant that others had to die. My eyes landed on my mom who was held with cold metal to her skull by a tall, slender man who was more meticulous with his words and persuasion. I was shaking, trying to get to her, trying to throw myself towards the man with the gun. All my efforts were futile in the hands of the giant.
“Please” is all I could mutter as my strength withered but It didn’t matter how much I cried nor how much I begged, yet I could only mutter with all my strength was a beg.
A pleaded as I wanted to reach her. I wanted her to say this was just a dream.
“Alyssia” My mother weakly whimpers as I yell trying to get to her. Struggling to get to her.
“Mom!” I cried out trying to reach her. Struggling with what little strength I had “Please, No”
“I’m sorry” she said as tears ran down her face as her own blood splattered as the man chuckled.
I couldn’t see anything through the tears. I couldn’t hear the sounds of sirens. I could barely breathe as my eyes rolled to the back of my head as I felt I was let go by the man. I fell to the floor until a person held me in their arms.
“Please” I muttered and cried “help me”
As my brain started to shut down from the shock of what happened ripped through my body.
My consciousness slowly faded as if everything was just a nightmare.
If only it was just a nightmare...
