Basil Jaak finished teaching Black a lesson, dusted off his hands, and said to Lydia White as if nothing had happened, "Let's go; time to leave this place."
Lydia White was stunned momentarily before she recovered from her shock and followed Basil Jaak out.
When Basil Jaak stepped outside, he hailed a taxi, then turned to Lydia White and asked, "White, where are you headed?"
Having just snapped back to reality from the event, Lydia White saw Basil Jaak opening the car door and hurried over, saying, "I'd like to go home and check on things."
"Oh, then let's head to your place!" Basil Jaak closed the car door for Lydia White, then got into the passenger seat.
The taxi crossed the expansive bridge over the river and stopped outside the complex where Lydia White's uncle lived.
Lydia White opened the door and stepped out of the taxi, walked up to the passenger side, and asked Basil Jaak, "Would you like to come up with me?"
