*Some moments earlier*
"Where are you going? Let's just go home."
"Roxy, please... Please I'm just going to go for a walk, I'll be back before nightfall."
"But you..." Her words break off as Erina holds onto her arm, she could see her pleading with her eyes, begging her for some time, and it made Roxy curse Gray in her heart again.
"I promise," she adds, and Roxy knew she had nothing more to say.
*sighs* "don't stay out too late." she simply says and releases her arm, and watched her slowly walk away, like her entire strength had been sipped from her body, and like it was the wind that moved her.
She almost seemed lifeless, "That bastard deserves to be flayed." Roxy mutters in anger, but there was nothing she could do now but watch her walk away, *THUNDER* she flinched at the frightening sound, looking up as the dark cloud was quickly forming up in the sky, she glanced at her friend in a distance. "I guess the universe really loves you, it's bringing you the rain."
Her lips curl in a broken smile as she knew she wouldn't have to worry about her too much now. Because it would rain, Erina loved the rain, she found it comforting, and Roxy knew this too, so she knew she could worry less now.
*Back to the present*
The closest place was his company, so that's where he headed to. In the parking lot, there was a private elevator just for him, so he helped her out of the car and... "oh, wait" he picks up a small face towel from the backseat and places it over her head to cover her face. It was in case they ran into anybody before they got to the elevator.
"Umm??" he stood confused as they walked into his office. "I'll make you some coffee to warm you up." He says... "oh, you can sit anywhere." He waves his hand around, and she nods in response as he walks into one room, and she just stood there looking around the extra neat office like a lost puppy.
"I'm sorry, you'll have to manage these first. Gary should be here any minute with something more comfortable for you to wear." He hands her one of his spare shirts. He didn't have any women's clothes to offer her... Why would he??
All he had was spares of his own clothes at the moment, in his office.
"Oh, I'm really fine. You don't need to get me anything, I can just go back home this way."
"You're going to walk around looking like someone pushed you into a pool?" he scoffs, and she realized he was right. It wasn't the first time she's walked in the rain though, but he probably doesn't need to know that she kind of feels comfortable in the wet clothes. ``He'll just think I'm overly eccentric`` she says in her head as she finally collects the shirt from him.
"You can change in there," he points to the room where he brought the shirt from. "oh, and if you don't like that shirt, you can pick something else from there..." she just nods silently and walks into the room while he went on to make coffee.
"mm-hmm" she clears her throat aloud to announce her presence, and he turns and...
All he could do was stare, speechlessly... As she just stood there in his black hoody, effortlessly looking ravishing.
"You said I could pick something else, and I found this." She says in a low tone, "I can go and change into something else if you want, it's just that you told me I could pick something else, and this one feels thick and comfortable, but if..."
"N_No No, it's_ it's fine. I just didn't know I put that in there too. It suits you." He quickly cuts her off. "Thank you" she gives a little smile, and he still stared at her, and an awkward silence fell upon the office, as she just stood there scratching her brows with her thumb, and she could hear the ticking hand of the clock, every second. ``this is really weird.`` She says in her head, biting on her nails.
"WOW!! You have a huge window" she runs to the top-to-floor window, as this was the only thing she could come up with to get rid of the awkward tension in the room, and he could see what she was doing, and the corners of his lips lifted in amusement.
"I believe most windows at this level are like this. Mine is no special exception... Coffee?" he hands the mug to her in a gentlemanly fashion, and she smiled a sweet thank you, with a little bow.
"Well, most windows at this level might be like this, but I don't always go into people's offices dripping wet, so I never noticed... Thank you, sir," she says, and instantly slaps a palm over her mouth as she saw the look on his face when she addressed him as sir.
"Black-Crust looks so beautiful from high up here."
"You really have a thing for high places don't you, White?"
"Yes,"
"Can I know why?" She looks up at him with a smile, and then she looks back at the window and places her palm on the glass...
"one, it's a beautiful view. You get the best view from a place as high up as this."
"I could argue that some things are better seen from down below than high up. What would you say to that?."
"I'd say you're right, but I could also argue that I never planned on arguing with you." He lets out a chuckle at her words.
"Okay, you won that one... another reason why you're into high places?"
"Oh... I guess because it makes you feel on top of the world,"
"Okay, I must counter that. There are a whole more fun things that can make you feel on top of the world."
"Like what?" her brows rose high up, and her eyeballs pushed forward as she looked at him curiously.
"Well for one, have you ever ridden a motorcycle on a lonely road, with no speed limits, no stop signs, just you on the bike, the wind blowing through your hair, and the long empty road..." He raised a brow, giving her a second to reply, but nothing.
"Now that's what being on top of the world feels like." He raises his cup to hers in a cheering fashion.
"as fun, as you make that sound, I can't agree because I'm terrified of motorcycles, so I've never been on one." She calmly states.
"Ah-ha! That's why." He chortles and looks out the window again while sipping his coffee. "Any other reason why you love high places?" he was sincerely curious. He wasn't kidding when he had told her he found her intriguing, he really did.
