After eating lunch with the King, I went to Lina's room and found her crying in her hands.
"Lina?" I called out, and she raised her head, her face tear-streaked.
"I don't want you to leave with him," she said. "I need you here, by my side, until our son is born."
"You know I don't have the power to refuse him," I said.
"I know," she replied. "But who will lead the people while you're gone?"
"I entrust my duties to you until I return from the war," I said.
"No," she said, shaking her head. "I should talk to the King myself."
My eyes widened, and I quickly shook my head. "You must not do that," I said. "The King is turning mad, and you know what could happen if I refuse. He would kill you. The King came here to take me, and I must obey his orders whether I like it or not."
She slowly stood up from the bed and hugged me. I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her close to feel her belly bump.
