Closing the door behind me, I took a deep breath as I sat down on the couch. Just then, the door opened, and I turned my head to see Tristan walk in. Quietly, he walked towards me.

"I did not mean this," he muttered, sitting next to me.

"Did you not?" I asked.

He softly held my chin, leaning closer, and kissed my lips. He sucked on my lips, placed a hand on my shoulder, and pulled me closer.

Anger rose inside me when I remembered what happened this morning. I quickly pulled away, and his gaze softened.

"You hurt me today," I said. "I was only trying to help you out. You cannot just start a war all of a sudden."

"I am sorry for my treatment towards you," he said. "I was not thinking straight at that time."

"I understand you are doing your duty as a King to protect the throne," I said. "But what if the war never ends?"
