Chapter Sixteen: Hang out

" Hilda" Nissa called and I looked up at her.

" You know mum and dad aren't around" she said and I nodded

" I'm having cheerleading practice" she said " Come join me"

" I don't know" I said

" Besties" she said and I smiled. Brixan came downstairs, busy with his phone call.

" You know, you'll get to meet cute guys there" she said. At the onset of that word, Brixan turned around to face us, his eyes solely resting on me. Our eyes met and I quickly looked away.

" Sure " I said " But, I not only work for your parents. I work for the children too"

" They're old enough to take care of themselves" she said and dragged me upstairs.

" Let's pick some cute clothes for you" she said and I smiled.

I wore a white fur hoodie, worn over a pair of blue denim jeans trouser. To compliment it, I wore a pair of pure white sneakers. I left my hair unpacked.

" Do you know you're really pretty?" Nissa said

" Oh" I said and she smiled.

We arrived at school early before their practice would commence.

"Emmm... Nissa" I called

" Huh?" she answered

" Did you also invite your brother?" I asked and she looked at my direction.

" Weird" she said" But since he's here, he'll watch his sister wow the crowd " she said.

I sat down in the pavilion as I watched them. I cheered for Nissa.

" Go Nissa" I screamed as they kept on practicing. Like a reflex action, I turned backwards to find Brixan's eyes on me. He was smiling so bad and bit his lip. I tried to comprehend what it meant but my head was out of ideas.

I headed for my class to get my books I would study for the weekend. I remembered I had borrowed Mike my Geometry text. I left for his class to check his seat. I didn't know his seat so I searched all the seats.

" Ahhhhh" I screamed " Cockroach" I said and ran, frightened only to end up wrapping my hands around a body. I sighed in relief.

" Oh Mike. Why do you have to let me go through all this?" I talked to myself. I looked up to behold the figure my hands were wrapped around.

" I..I'm sorry" I started apologizing. His eyes were buried in mine.
