“C’mon, let’s go,” Fable said, getting to her feet, “I don’t think they’ll be unconscious for much longer. Somebody’s bound to notice.”
Nikos scrambled to his feet after her, gaping in bewilderment.
“What the hell are you doing here?” He asked, following her as she looked around his office. “How did you even know I lived here? Where are the guards?”
Fable rolled her eyes, leaning against his desk, “You didn’t show, so I came instead. Now, let’s go!”
She grabbed his hand, intending to pull him back out of the balcony, but he dug his heels in, head reeling as he fought to comprehend what was going on.
“Wait a minute!” He said, staring at her, stunned, trying not to get lost in how beautiful she looked with the moonlight framing her silhouette and red hair unleashed and untamed.
“You climbed over the private gate, broke into my house, knocked out my guards single-handedly, and climbed my balcony to kidnap me.”
“Rescue,” She corrected, “but that about sums it up, yeah.”
