As the sun shone down on the carnage of Kurukshetra, thousands of warriors lay slain, their bodies strewn across the blood-soaked earth. The war had raged for 18 long days, and now, as the survivors emerged from the carnage, they could scarcely believe that it was over. For many, the memories of those days would haunt them for the rest of their lives.
But in the end, the war was over. And yet, even as the dust settled, the true story of what had happened on that field of battle began to fade from memory and take on a life of its own. Over the centuries, tales of bravery and heroism mingled with rumors and gossip, until the true events of the war became almost unrecognizable. That followed countless versions of the story, each with its own heroes and villains, its own triumphs and tragedies, would be told and retold, until the true events of those days were lost to the mists of time.
But amidst the chaos of the various narratives, one story emerged that stood above them all. A collection of poems chronicling the entire history of the war, from its inception to its final moments. This work, known as the Mahabharata, became one of the greatest epics in human history.
Over the centuries, however, the true meaning of the Mahabharata became obscured. The epic became a battleground for political and ideological battles, with each faction claiming the story as their own. The characters of the Mahabharata became symbols for different virtues and vices, and people used their interpretations of the epic to justify their own beliefs and actions.
It was in this world of black and white, where right and wrong were decided without question, that three friends found themselves bound together by a shared passion for the Mahabharata. They had spent countless hours debating the true meaning of the epic, each bringing their own unique perspective to the discussion. They argued about the various characters and events, trying to piece together the true story of the war.
But on their way home from college, fate intervened. In an instant, their lives were snuffed out, their bodies crushed in a horrific accident. And yet, as their spirits left their mortal shells, they felt themselves drawn inexorably back in time, to the very era they had been studying. When they awoke, they found themselves in a place that was both familiar and strange - Gurukul, the ancient Indian system of education, where they were now pupils at the age of seven.
At first, they were disoriented and confused, struggling to understand how they had ended up in this place. But as the days passed, they began to realize the significance of their situation. They were in the same period as the characters of the Mahabharata, living and learning alongside them. For these three friends, who had spent so much time studying the epic and debating its meaning, it was an opportunity beyond measure.
As they settled into their new lives, they found themselves fascinated by the world around them. They were learning from the greatest gurus of the time, mastering the arts of war and diplomacy, and observing firsthand the events that would shape the future of their world. But they were also aware of the dangers that lurked around every corner. In this time of great upheaval, when kingdoms rose and fell with alarming frequency, they knew that they had to tread carefully.
And so they set about their studies with a renewed sense of purpose. They pored over the texts and scriptures of their time, seeking to deepen their understanding of the world they had been thrust into. They watched as the great events of the epic unfolded before their eyes, seeing firsthand the conflicts and struggles that had shaped the course of history. And they knew that they had been given a chance that few others would ever have - to witness the birth of a new age, and to shape its destiny.
As the years passed, they grew in wisdom and stature, becoming respected members of their Gurukul. And all the while, they continued to study and debate the meaning of the Mahabharata, seeking to understand its true significance in a world that had lost sight of its original purpose. For these three friends, the epic had become more than just a story - it was a living, breathing thing, a window into the past and a guide for the future. And they were determined to unlock its secrets, no matter what the cost.
Please don't expect great English or writing like that of a published book in the upcoming chapters. As I work on building this story, I won't be able to spend a lot of time on perfecting the writing style, but I will try my best to provide good updates. Updates will be slow due to the fact that there are three main characters, and it requires a lot of brainstorming on my part
