Chapter - 11

" It is simply not going to happen . He doesn't like me . I can't . " I was currently in the hallway with Brune and Lisa pasting the posters for prom as our teacher had asked us to help . They were currently talking to me about Sam or as they put it , giving me 'advice' .

" Just once - just tell him, " said Lisa .

" Tell him what ? " I asked, folding my arms . " That you like him . "

" Not gonna happen Lisa . Forget it . " I said as I started applying glue in the back of the posters .

" Why not ? " Lisa pushed .

" It's just - he doesn't like me ok ? And I really don't wanna ruin our friendship . " I said truthfully .

" How can you be so sure that he doesn't like you ? " asked Lisa .

" I just - I know okay ? He does not . " I said moving to another wall .

" I've seen him looking at you . He certainly does . " said Brune now .

" Not you too Brune . " I said . " Fine, fine . " surrendered Brune .

" Come on Ell . He likes you too . I just know it . You'll regret it later. '' said Lisa, taking the posters from my hand and pressing it firmly to the wall .

" Guys ? Can we drop this ? Please . " I said ignoring Lisa. " Uggh . Fine . " complained Lisa .

I went on putting posters while they two stood discussing my love life .

" She is so stupid . I wish Olly was here . "

" I know . And Sam too - They both are so dumb . They obviously like each other but no - why would they tell that - Kids nowadays .” whisper yelled Lisa as if I wouldn't be able to hear her . I was just beside them . Friends nowadays .

" Ahem . A little help would be better . " I said loudly so that they could hear me . Lisa just shook their head at me and helped me . Brune just smiled and shrugged her shoulders as I looked at her .

After pasting the posters at almost every wall of the school , we were outside sitting on the ground and talking when Gabriel joined us .

" Hey ? Free ? " asked Lisa . He nodded and sat down beside her . She just leaned into him and they held hands . I wish Sam - Wha - NO .

" So - when is this prom ? " asked Gabriel . " About two months away . " replied Brune .

" Why the posters now ? "

" Well - our teacher said that it would be easy to get some help from the students . "

" What about the play ? Sam was talking about it . "

" That'll be in a week I guess . " I said .

Just as the bell rang , we all headed towards the theatre room . Just as we entered , our drama teacher was on the stage .

" Students please sit down . " she said in her high pitched voice through the mike she was holding .

After everyone of us in the room sat down , she began again , " As you know that there was supposed to be drama in the coming week but due to some problem faced by the school , there won't be any drama . " Most of them were booing after hearing the news .

" But - but " she continued , " The prom will be in three weeks and you all will be having exams from next week . " As soon as she talked about our exams , the booing sounds were definitely louder .

After she dismissed us , we all again went to the ground and sat down . As we had no classes now , we were just chilling outside in the grass .

" Ugh - the posters for the play are of no use now . " I said with a sigh .

" Why exams though ? " Brune complained .

" Exams . I don't like exams . " Gabriel was complaining now .

" Don't worry . You'll do fine . " comforted Lisa who had her head in Gabriel's thigh .

" Ya . It'll be fine . We can even study toge- " Brune stopped talking mid sentence . We all just looked at her and laughed .

" What's up ? " I asked . She just looked at me and looked behind us . I turned around and immediately stopped laughing when I saw Sam with his arm around a girl that I had never seen before in this school . As I turned back to them , they all looked at me feeling sorry .

" What ? It's fine . He can have his arms around anyone he likes . I don't care . " I lied .

" What's going on ? " asked Gabriel who just looked confused .

" Oh It's nothing . " I said .

" Ellie likes Sam . " Lisa blurted out . " Lisa . " I just glared at her .

" Wow . " Gabriel looked between me and Sam now . " Sorry, " he said .

" Guys . Come on . I don't like him . "

" You don't like who ? " asked someone from behind me . " God . People have got to stop speaking from behind me . " I said, turning around to see Sam with a huge smile .

" You don't like who ? " asked Sam again, ignoring what I just said .

" Um . No one . It's Nothing . " I said quickly .

He then came in front of me with his arm still around the girl and sat down .

" Well anyway , this is Amelia, " he introduced her .

" Hi . I'm Brune . " said Brune and shook her outstretched hand .

" I'm Lisa, " said Lisa sitting up and shaking her hand .

" Gabriel . "

" And I'm Ellie . " I too shook her hand .

" Oh . You're Ellie ? “ she asked, looking at Sam . " Um - Yea . " I said looking confused .

" You two seem overly comfortable . " I blurted out with anger as I saw her leaning towards Sam more . Lisa just pinched my elbow . " Ahh, " I whisper yelled at her .

" What she means is - " said Lisa glaring at me , " Do you two know each other or something ? " asked Lisa .

" Yeah . We've known each other since birth . " replied Sam . Friends since birth - great . They may as well already be boyfriend and girlfriend .

" Oh . That is great . " said Lisa looking at me with yet again those sorry eyes .

" So , what brings you here ? " asked Brune .

" Oh . I'm a new transfer student . " said Amelia .

" Great . " I replied, forcing a smile when everybody looked at me .
