I waited for Claire's reaction as the room went quiet for a split second, and I could see a few surprised glances exchanged between the director, producer, and Damian.
And soon, I got Claire's response. She paused briefly on stage, her back to me, but I caught the subtle way her shoulders stiffened. Was that a reaction? Did she understand what I was trying to say?
I held my breath, waiting for her to turn around, but she didn't. Instead, she moved toward the center of the stage, composed as ever, ready for her audition.
