Chapter 6: [Burning Ifrit]

[Seaside Harbor, Grandora City]

"Ready?... This will be our 11 match.... I suppose you have learned something for our past 10 matches!!! Right!?" Declared Jinwoo

"Huh! uh yes but... I think few hour isn't enough for me to learn a lot" said Kanzaki exhausted and bruised

"Alright!!!... You can go on your own pace" said Jinwoo

"Hehe! I hope so" replied Kanzaki

"HERE I COME!!!"

As Jinwoo said this he immediately disappeared from his location and reappeared in front of Kanzaki

The moment Jinwoo himself got close to Kanzaki he immediately released a quick uppercut

Since Kanzaki kept his foresight active throughout since the first match, the moment Jinwoo appeared infront of him he instinctually bent his back backward to dodge the uppercut

"Kuh! Such strong wind pressure" said Kanzaki as wind pressure passed straight to his face

When Jinwoo saw Kanzaki dodge his uppercut he immediately drop a sucker punch

The moment Jinwoo did that, Kanzaki jumped backwards and thus another crack appeared on the floor

"Hoh!? He saw that one coming?" Thought Jinwoo clearly surprised

"That was lucky, if I was a second slower I would have been done for" thought Kanzaki as he catch his breath (he was being showered with pressure since first match so he appeared exhausted)

When Kanzaki thought it was over Jinwoo dashed straight infront of him and gave him a series of punches

Right straight, Left straight, Right hook, Left hook, Jab, Jab, Jab

But Kanzaki was always on his guard so when Jinwoo dashed to him he immediately put his arms up in he's face to block the attack

When Jinwoo saw his attacks was useless he sorted out with kick next

Double front kick, Left side kick, Right side kick, Spinning kick

But Kanzaki easily saw through his movements and blocks all his attacks

But Jinwoo was not done yet he instantly made a slide infront of him and did a low blow to his stomach

When Kanzaki foresaw that Jinwoo was aiming for his stomach he immediately sidestep and grabbed his right wrist with his left hand

Jinwoo tried to pull his wrist back but soon he realized that he can't

"What the!!!???"

Kanzaki was putting all of his weight around on his behind while his leaning backwards

"So you did learn something" exclaimed Jinwoo

"Of course!!! Did you think that I wouldn't learn a thing after all those beat up that I got from you?" Asked Kanzaki as he smirked

"No... I just thought that you were slow on the uptake" replied Jinwoo

As Jinwoo finished his reply he immediately grabbed kanzaki's right hand with his remaining hand and head-butted him

When his wrist was set free he quickly grabbed kanzaki's head and knee kick him

Kanzaki was taken aback and blood spurted out from his nose but he still retaliated with a punch

When Jinwoo dodged kanzaki's punch he elbowed him in his stomach and back fisted him causing kanzaki's nose to bleed more

"Guhah!!!" Cried Kanzaki

While Kanzaki was still taken aback Jinwoo immediately did a low kick making Kanzaki lose his balance and fall to the floor

"Geh!"

Struggling to suppress the pain he feeling all over his body Kanzaki gritted his teeth and tried to stand back up

"It's Over!" Declared Jinwoo as he finishes it with an axe kick

When Kanzaki finally stayed on the floor Jinwoo let out his breath and said

"Hahaha!!! Good thing I learned all those martial arts in the movies!, It feels good to do it in real life right?"

Hearing no reply from Kanzaki for a couple of seconds, Jinwoo glanced at Kanzaki and saw him still laying on the floor

"I think he's dead" said Ai

"Huh? No way I'm pretty sure he's messing around" said Jinwoo confidently as he poked Kanzaki

But seeing no response for a moment Jinwoo became worried

"Holy shit!!! I think I overdid it! No this can't be happening! He's completely out cold" panicked Jinwoo while clutching on his hair

"Hey what should we do?"

Looking for answers Jinwoo glanced at Ai but when he did Ai was typing something on her phone

"Moshi!Moshi! Is this the police station? I'm about to report a serious murder case" said Ai

Hearing this Jinwoo freaked out and shouted

"IT'S ALL A MISUNDERSTANDING!!!"

[8 hours later, 12:00 am]

When Kanzaki opened his eyes he saw the ceiling of his room and when he did he remembered that he lost the match

"So I did lose I thought I had him"

As silence goes on for a few minutes, kanzaki get up from his bed and decided to go out for some fresh air

"Nothing will happen if I stay cooped up in this room" he said

As kanzaki opened his door he saw a tray on the floor with two sandwiches with a bottle of water and a phone with a folded paper taped behind it

When he read the paper it says:

Hey if you saw this letter that's means your awake, don't feel down on your matches today nobody's perfect it takes years for someone to get accustomed to fighting

By the way I left a footage of all the fight you had since the first match make sure to review them

From your chinese idol Ai Cheng

"Chinese idol?" Wondered Kanzaki

"I see you just wanted to see me beat up Jinwoo senpai that much huh!" Thought Kanzaki as he realized the relationship between Ai Cheng and Jinwoo

[Rooftop]

As Kanzaki was gazing at the Moon he pondered something and breath out

"If I want to grow stronger I need to work harder" he thought to himself

As he thought this Kanzaki looked at the phone left by Ai infront of his room

"So the footage of all our fight in the afternoon is in there?"

Steeling his resolve and determination Kanzaki opened the video and watched the footage

As kanzaki kept watching the video he felt a little confused

"Why do I feel like his moves are so simple? I can easily read them now even though I can't even read them during this afternoon!"

He pondered this to himself as he kept looking for answers but later he decided to set this aside and try to practice jinwoo's movements during the fights throughout the night

[7:00 am]

Morning came as the people of the Polar Dormitory wakes up

"So has anyone seen Kanzaki his room was empty by the way!" Said Jinwoo

"Huh? Kanzaki-kun? Oh he's gone out back to his apartment to pack up his belongings there" said Sanaguchi as he fixed his polo

"Ahhhh!!! Is that so" exclaimed Jinwoo

When Jinwoo sitted at the dining chairs he asked

"Early work?"

"Early work!" Sanaguchi replied

"By the way how is he? Asked Sanaguchi

"Him? Oh don't worry he'll make it.... I guess" replied Jinwoo

"What was that supposed to mean?" Asked Sanaguchi completely surprised by jinwoo's answer

"It means nothing, I don't know the future is  uncertain" replied Jinwoo

"Oh! I that so.... At least we tried" said Sanaguchi

"Yeah we tried" added Jinwoo

As both of them stayed silent a knock was heard from the door

"Yes? Who is it" asked Sanaguchi as he opened the door

"Heya! boss we're back!!!" Said Jessica

"Oh! you've returned" exclaimed Sanaguchi

"Hey Ryuuji What's up?" greeted Jinwoo

"None of your business" relied Ryuuji

"Hello muscle head" greeted Jessica

"Still the disrespect I see...." Said Jinwoo

"Come in! Come in! We're about to have breakfast"

As both Jessica and Ryuuji heard this they both went inside

[Kanzaki's Apartment]

As kanzaki was tidying up his room and was about to finish he thought

"This will be my last time seeing this place huh!? I'm sure I will miss this place" said Kanzaki as he reminiscing his past events in this apartment

When kanzaki was about to finish everything up a voice suddenly called out to him

"Kanzaki?"

When he glanced at the owner of this voice he saw Alice standing there

"Alice!" He said surprised

"Your leaving?" Asks Alice as she became worried

"Well yeah!.... But don't worry I'm just..."

But before he could even finish up his words Alice interrupted him

"Don't worry? Of course I'll worry the last time I saw you, yourself was lying on a death bed!" Proclaimed Alice

"Death... Death bed?" Exclaimed Kanzaki surprised

"Yes Death bed a bed where many many die" explained Alice

"Oh! I think you got wrong understanding here" reasoned Kanzaki

"Wrong? No I'm not wrong!!! Your leaving right? Your going to take the burden of all the injured people in school" said alice as she begun to tear up

"Alice I'm..." Said Kanzaki trying to intervene

"Didn't I told you? nobody's blaming you thus all of them are thanking you for saving them by making a quick decision" cried Alice

"ALICE!!!" Shouted Kanzaki

When Alice heard Kanzaki's shout he zipped her mouth

"Look I'm not leaving Grandora city, I'm not even dropping out of the Academy, I'm just going to move to a closer place.... That's all" said Kanzaki

"Eh?" Staggered Alice

"Yes" confirmed Kanzaki

"....Ehhhhhhhhh!!!!!....." Screamed Alice

After that event Kanzaki spend most of his time explaining to Alice what happened to him and how he decided to join the Chaos Breakers

"I see.... so your going to join the chaos breakers to fight those creatures..... Well I already know that someday your going to end up joining them" said Alice

"Huh? Your not surprised or shocked" asked Kanzaki clearly bewildered

"Of course!.... You do have the ability to see the future right? What did you expect?" Asked back Alice

"It's nothing.... Your answer.... I wasn't expecting that kind of answer" replied Kanzaki

"*Giggles* you know that I will always support your decision right?" Said Alice

"Support? Last time I made a decision you didn't listen to me" reasoned Kanzaki

When Alice heard that she clearly remembered the time kanzaki told her to run

"That's.... That's just a spur of the moment okay!!!" Reasoned Alice while defending herself

"Fine! Fine!" Said Kanzaki as he accepted Alice reasoning

"So about that test can you even pass it's practical test?" Asks Alice

"Well I did stayed up all night to practice some moves...." Explained Kanzaki

"Well anyways I'll pray that you will pass" supported Alice

"Hahaha thanks for the support" said Kanzaki

"Sure! No problem that's what friends are for right?" Said Alice

"Yeah friends" said Kanzaki happily

With the help of Alice, Kanzaki finished his packing in no time at all and when his done he says his goodbyes and took a cab to head straight to the Polar Dormitory

[Polar Dormitory]

"I'm back" shouted Kanzaki as he arrived at the polar dormitory

But the moment he opened the door he met face to face with Ryuuji

"Your...." Muttered Ryuuji

"Your the guy who save me last time!!!" Shouted Kanzaki

"Your the weak guy" replied Ryuuji

The moment Kanzaki saw Ryuuji's face a desire suddenly swelled up inside of him, a desire to:

I want to beat this guy

When he thought this Kanzaki challenged him

"Hey you!!! whoever you are please have a match with me"

The moment he declared that all members heard what he said and immediately went to their location

"Huh? Who's that?" Asked Jessica

"Oh that! His name is Kanzaki a future member of our Dormitory if he passed the exam" explained Ai

"Really? He's quite brave for challenging Ryuuji" replied Jessica

"Well he did good in our fight yesterday so maybe he improved?" Wondered Jinwoo

"He fought you? What's the outcome?" Asked Jessica clearly interested

"11-0 a landslide win" said Jinwoo puffing out his chest

" A total...." Said Jessica

"Loss" added Ai dejectedly

"Will he be okay?" Asks Jessica worriedly

"Well see..." Answered Jinwoo

"I'll try to defeat you so please fight me" said Kanzaki

"You? Will try to defeat me? What a joke" said Ryuuji

"I'm serious" declared Kanzaki

Seeing that Kanzaki is serious Ryuuji finally gave in

"Fine but if you lost your out of this dormitory" conditioned Ryuuji

"That's fine for me" accepted Kanzaki

When both of them agreed with the condition they head straight outside and agreed to use iron rod to fight

When the both of them are in position Jinwoo intermediate their fight

"Ready!!!"

"Fight!!!"

When the signal was released kanzaki suddenly accelerated towards Ryuuji

"He's taking offensive!!!" Thought Jinwoo clearly surprised

When Kanzaki arrived infront of Ryuuji he instantly slashed sideways while Ryuuji himself swung down his rod

[Clang!]

Sound vibrated as two metals hit each other

"He's going offensive" muttered Ai clearly surprised

"Why? What's the matter?" Asked Jessica

"The is the first time he's going offensive, yesterday he was always on defense so this is a first" explained Ai

As both Ai and Jessica talks Ryuuji instantly swung his rod upwards and immediately pushed back Kanzaki with it's wind pressure

"Not yet! Concentrate!" Thought Kanzaki

When he was pushed back he immediately find his footing and dashed infront of Ryuuji to stab him

But Ryuuji saw this and sidestepped him

When Kanzaki saw Ryuuji dodged him he immediately twisted his body to give a roundhouse kick

[Bang]

But contrary to kanzaki's expectation Ryuuji blocks his attacked with his arm

Ryuuji wasn't expecting a situation where he would defend using his arm so he was clearly taken aback when he defended using his arm

"Jinwoo!!!"whispered Ai

"Yes I know! That move it was clearly an imitation of what I did on our first match" whispered back Jinwoo as he was surprised by the sudden development of Kanzaki

"He clearly improved in just one night! Amazing!" He added

But Kanzaki wasn't finished yet he twisted his body again and and kicked Ryuuji away from him

When Kanzaki did that Ryuuji was pushed back by five steps

"You...." Said Ryuuji getting irritated

But before he could finish his words Kanzaki was already infront of him

When Kanzaki arrived infront of Ryuuji again he rained him with a series of slashes

Side swing, Side swing, Side swing, Side swing, Side swing, Side swing, Side swing, Side swing, Side swing

With each swing Ryuuji was getting pushed back by a little margin, so he tried to retaliate

When Kanzaki saw Ryuuji about to attack he immediately went down low and kick his knees to make him lose balance

But Ryuuji clearly saw this and jumped then he raised his rod to slam it down

The moment Kanzaki saw Ryuuji jumped he took hold with both of his hands on his own rod and swung upwards with all his might

[Clang!!!]

As two rods landed a hit, one rod flew away dozen of steps

Ryuuji was surprised to see that a certain nobody made his disarmed his hands

Not only Ryuuji was surprised even Jinwoo, Ai, and Jessica was shocked that Ryuuji was pushed back since the fight started

"Incredible"

"Whoa!"

"Impossible"

Those were the comments of the three spectators as they saw Kanzaki cornered Ryuuji

But kanzaki himself paid no heed to  the comment and concentrated on swinging his next attack aiming for Ryuuji's head

"I've had  enough of this" muttered Ryuuji

"Come Burning Ifrit"

The moment Ryuuji said that a pillar of flame showed up between Kanzaki and Ryuuji

Kanzaki was taken aback by the pillar of flame, cold sweat dripping from his face

The instant the flame subsided a huge sword appeared on its place

Ryuuji grabbed the sword and declared

"Alright! You got my attention let's see how long will you last"

Author's notes:

kanzaki memorized all of jinwoo's attacks and stayed up all night, later in the story it would be known that he has a photographic memory making it easier for him to memorize stuff but that too is another story

~i updated this text at a later date cause there are parts where I made a mistake
