Chaos Qi

The spring water was indeed not ordinary. It was in fact a mountain spring that flowed over the mountain's spirit vein. As such it's water had already converted to Spirit Water that contained Qi. Cultivating in a pool of the water achieved double the results with half the effort. The Nyasanga elders had shot from early [Fetal Breath] stage to the peak of [Meridian] stage about to form their condensed Qi and enter the sixth stage, all in a few three months. Philip had also not been slacking and had utilised the pool to firmly stabilise his cultivation at the peak of the ninth step [Spirit Sea]. Not just his cultivation of Qi, but also his physical body and soul were at the ninth stage. Most cultivators would only focus on one path. Dragons focused on their bodies, spectres focused on their souls and humans focused on their Qi. However, after his descent, Mithamo focused on all three paths together, an unprecedented method. It was not that no one had thought to do this, but it was because this method was far too difficult. Any breakthrough would require three times the effort, and because cultivation was an arduous process, those who walked such a path would run out of lifespan before achieving a breakthrough. A cultivation bottleneck was simply lethal. Such a risk was not for nothing and had its reward. Those who succeeded in all three paths were unparalleled in their cultivation level. With the defence of their body and the might of their Qi backed by a strong soul, they were mighty in battle and hard to defeat. It took only a much stronger cultivator from a higher tier to overwhelm a triple cultivator. That said it was not easy at all to cultivate as a dual or triple cultivator. The [Meridian] stage was a watershed stage to take the path of dual or triple cultivation. This was because of where meridians were formed at this stage. A body cultivator would form actual meridian veins in his body and gather Qi in his flesh and blood. A spirit cultivator would form Qi meridians and gather Qi there. A soul cultivator would form soul paths and gather Qi into their soul. Thus a triple cultivator would actually need to spend quite a bit of time in the fifth stage, forming three sets of meridians. Philip had done this all in one fell swoop using the Qi from the god descent, but ordinary cultivators weren't so lucky, and thus usually ran out of lifespan shortly after achieving all three breakthroughs since they spent thrice the time in a low level. Most cultivators made a compromise in dual cultivation, focusing on either Qi and Body or Qi and Soul. Rarely would there be Soul and Body techniques as they did not complement each other much. Dual cultivation had some of the advantages of triple cultivation without the glaring lifespan issue. The [Mountain Body Incantation] was such a technique. It formed physical body as well as spirit meridians. Though it was primarily a body cultivation method it also gathered Earth Qi for its techniques. Another reason that the fifth stage was a watershed was because of the transformation of Qi afterwards. In the first five stages of any technique Qi was attribute-less, but afterwards it gained a quality depending on the technique. Five Elements Qi had an attribute of one of the elements of Air,Water,Fire,Earth and Metal. More profound techniques would combine elements like wind-Fire techniques and some focused on a profound state of an element for instance Rain techniques. Another type of Qi was weapon Qi such as Sword Qi and Spear Qi. this was Qi gathered from profound understanding of a weapon and usually was combined with an element like fire-Spear Qi and such. Finally there were Primordial Qi from understanding of the world itself, with Space Qi,Time Qi, Yang and Yin Qi all falling in this category. Thus from the sixth stage cultivation techniques branched off in myriad forms. This was why Philip had asked the elders of the clan to not breakthrough into the sixth stage just yet. He needed for their and the rest of the clan's Qi to remain attribute-less for now. However for himself this was not a problem, after all he was re-cultivating. Furthermore his technique was very unique. It was the reason a God was willing to lose all power. Philip had a very rare constitution, know as the Pure Chaos Body. Typically any creature was born with an affinity to a particular type of Qi. Dragon Clans were actually separated by their affinity, with the chromatic dragons with metal affinity, flame dragons with fire affinity, aqua dragons with water affinity, earth dragons, and the black dragons with air affinity. Humans also had a wide affinity to almost all types of Qi, and could even cultivate a Qi they weren't attuned to without much backlash. This was why they were so suited to Qi cultivation as a race. Every once in a while a genius would be born with a perfect affinity to a type of Qi. This was referred to as a Pure Body. Every person with a pure body would even automatically gain their attribute of Qi by simply awakening their bloodline and directly shoot to the sixth stage of Qi Condensation. They would face no difficulty pursuing cultivation in their attuned Qi and were guaranteed to call the wind and summon the rain if they matured. Cultivation Sects would fight tooth and nail to recruit anyone with a matching Pure Body to their techniques. However they were far too rare, only appearing once every tens of thousands of years. The Pure Chaos Body was even more rare, appearing only once every millions of years. Those with the Pure Chaos Body unlike others of the other types of Qi, were completely ordinary. Far too ordinary in fact, they had absolutely zero talent for cultivation. Quite understandably it was nicknamed the Pure Cripple's Body. However, a God had directly descended into such a cripple. This was because Mithamo in his research had discovered something terrifying. The Pure Chaos body was in fact attributed to a type of Qi, a Qi everyone stopped cultivation of after the fifth stage, attribute-less and unassuming, with no flair whatsoever. Chaos Qi.
