Test 2

Jade walked unto the platform, her face calm and emotionless. Her opponent came up as well. He was quite huge and muscular, standing at 6 feet tall. He wielded a great sword.

When both of them were on the the platform, they go ahead was given. The guy shot in her direction, wanting to get close.

"It seems he doesn't have magic." Leo mentioned.

"If that's so then he has already lost." Ray commented.

Evan had never seen Jade fight, so he did not know her abilities, but he could deduce from what those two said that she was strong.

Seeing the incoming man, Jade simply pointed her finger at the guy. Lightning began crackling around the finger, then a lightning arrow shot out.

The man saw this attack, and quickly used his sword to stop the attack.

*Boom*

The guy was pushed back a few steps by the attack.

Evan who was down stage was shocked by the simple looking attack that possesed immense strength. "She is really strong."

The guy kept pushing forward, trying to close the distance. He dodged and blocked the lightning arrows with all his strength. Jade on the other hand kept attacking repeatedly, as if the spell did not consume mana.

The relentlessness of the guy paid off, he was able to reach her. He swung his sword in anger; the constant attacks from Jade had provoked him.

As Jade saw the sword, she quickly moved, managing to dodge the attack. She then switched from retreat to attack, this time manipulating pure lightning without a spell, she punched him in the guts. Her punch in its own was not to strong, but the lightning around her fist caused the guy to shoot back.

Jade didn't allow him land, attacking with another round of lightning arrows. The attacks bombarded her opponent, knocking him out cold.

Fredrick came up and announced Jade the winner. After he did Jade stepped down, while the unconscious guy was brought down.

"Damn Jade. You went brutal on that dude." Ray commented soon as she came to were they stood.

Jade didn't respond, she was trying to catch her breath. Though it looked like she won easily, she had expended a lot of Mana and energy.

The next fight was announced and commenced. The two fighters were not mages, one was wielding a spear the other a long sword.

At first the sword user was in the advantage, but the spear user managed to turn the tide and come out victorious.

More battles happened till Leo was called out. He climbed the platform, but his opponent forfited the match. He was one of the people who was banking on theoretical aspect, those whose dream was thwarted by Fredrick.

Since he had an automatic win, Leo stepped down. More battles happened, with mostly mages coming out victorious. Though they were combatants that won without magic.

Number 32 and Number 21.

'Finally.' Evan said as he climbed the stage, a feeling of nostalgia washed over him, taking him back to his times as a gladiator.

His opponent came up as well. He was a normal looking guy.

The signal was giving, and immediately a fire ball came roaring towards Evan, Evan smiled when he saw the fire ball. He used his shadow manipulation to block the fire ball, before summoning two shadow beast.

Evan had decided that if he was to grow in the council, he would need to prove his strength. Though overly showing of would cause to much issues for him, that's why he went with two Shadow beast.

The guy saw the pitch black wolves, and quickly became alert. He shot fire balls at them continuously, but the wolves dodged each attack. The boy got desperate and began firing multiple fire balls.

The judges that were watching the match were shocked to see a dark mage here, also he had good strength as well. The governor would surely reward them for finding such a person with nice potential. They watched the match with more concentration than the other ones.

The guy had fired attacks for a while, only managing to hit one of the wolves, but it did not still get destroyed. He had run out of Mana, so he pulled out a dagger from his back, holding it in reverse grip.

He lunged at one of the wolfs trying to kill it quick, but he could not, and the second wolf had come behind him. Seeing that he had been surrounded, he threw caution to the wind, and began attacking randomly.

The wolves managed to supress him, and beat the hell out of him. They kept attacking till he was immobilized.

'i didn't even need to move.' Evan thought as he looked at the dude in the ground. Fredrick announced Evan as the winner, allowing the next match to begin.

Evan walked down feeling a bit down, he was used to difficult fights like his former days, and like the horned phantom tiger. He needed difficult battles if he was going to get stronger.

More fights happened, and Ray was finally got called. His opponent was a female wind user like him. Ray, unlike his playful self got serious. He did not hold back at all, as wind blades clashed against each other causing small explosions.

The battle held up for a while, then Ray changed to close combat, using his wind magic he dodged all the blades, and got to her front.

The girl was weak In close combat, so Ray knocked her out quickly.

After the rest of the fights concluded, Fredrick climbed the stage. "This is quite fast, I was expecting it to last longer. Now the list in my hand is a list of numbers. The numbers called out are the ones who we have chosen.

Fredrick proceeds to call out the numbers. Jade Ray and Evan were amongst the top twenty, while Leo was called around the seventies. Probably due to the fact that he had not really fought.

"Those of you called are to gather hear tomorrow by noon. As for those who did not make it, please try again next year." Fredrick finished and stepped down.
