The last day before the test. Evan was unable to sleep at all, partly due to the beating, but mostly because he was in thoughts. What Winston had said had caused him to realize how haphazardly his was moving through things. He had set his mind on the fact that Shadow song would bring him close enough to the council to exact his revenge.
It was only after last night with Winston had he realized how foolish that was. He needed to begin planning, everybody was a pawn for his agenda, even the Winston who beat him up. He had stayed awake throughout the night starting his own plan. Counter measure after counter measure, he built step one.
He had decided to go at this with utmost effort, spending the entire night working only on step one. They were thousands of steps to come, and he would take just as much time to prepare each and every one of them till it all fell into place. He would take into account all those to kill, spare, use and many all. Today he had to enact the beginning phases of step one. Planting the seed.

Evan arrived at the bar, the bar was quite lively this morning, and people drank as the band from the other day sang their numbers. He walked to the bartender, flashing his coin. He moved to the cellar.
Inside the cellar. Lady Sophia was working on the details of her plan when Evan came in.
"From the bandages on our body, I can assume you had a hard time in your hunt." Sophia said as she saw Evan.
"I met a rank three by accident." Evan lied. These were from Winston, who bashed him up good last night.
"Oh, that explains thing. Thank goodness you are safe." Sophia said. "So, what brings you here today?"
"I just wanted to spend time with someone who understands me, before I go off to the three years training."
"Understands you? What do you mean?" Sophia asked.
"I mean someone who has like goals with me, and has the same reason driving them." Evan explained.
Sophia was a bit startled by what he said. "Evan can you explain what you mean, in clearer details?"
Evan walked closer to her, stopping just when he was almost right in her front. "You and I have faced similar things in life. I asked around and found that you had suffered the same tragedy I suffered. Having your parents killed, because they stood against the council."
Sophia was shocked when Evan said this, the memories of her parents flooded her mind. She dropped her head staring at the ground. "Who told you this," she asked, not raising her head.
"That is not important." Evan stepped closer to her, reaching the closest possible level without touching. Though he was just over eighteen, he was quite fit and tall, taller than Sophia. He looked at her as she faced the ground. "I understand the pain you feel, it's a pain that makes you want to burn the world down. Still you are able to look for a brighter future. A future where no one would have to suffer what we did." Evan stretched out his hand, raising her head to look at him. Right now tears filled her eyes, she was no longer the calm collected leader, but a traumatized girl. "You carry a burden that heavy alone, when I found out, I felt useless. I filled my heart with rage, whilst you filled yours with hope that no kid would feel what you felt.
Sophia looked at Evan with shock, why was the boy she was growing to become her secret weapon, suddenly making her fill like this. Each word that he spoke made her fill like he knew her deeply.
"So I decided that I'll carry that burden with you and make your dream for a better Eldoria come true."
When Evan said this, Sophia trembled slightly, tears poured from her eyes. She felt as though she had found someone that knew her pain.
Evan proceeded to use his thumb to wipe her tears. "You shouldn't be crying, what you will say if someone came in and saw their leader crying.
"And whose fault is it" She responded.
Evan smiled as he went and sat down. Sophia cleaned her tears completely and sat opposite Evan. Changing back to her calm composed demeanor, the change shocked Evan.
Sophia looked at Evan, the image of this boy had changed in her mind, as for what it changed into, she did not know yet."
Evan proceeded to talk about something else. "The spell to protect our minds, can it only be used by a particular element?"
"Oh that spell? It can be used by any mage, but each element have a different effect on it. I am a dual mage of water and wind, so if I infuse the spell with my water mana I can infuse calmness to the person. The wind has its own effect, so does every element."
"I see, so what if I infuse it with dark magic?" Evan asked.
"It will enable you infuse dark thoughts to the person, also you can put deception in their mind leading them to do things they would never do. In fact dark magic has the most lethal effect, when it comes to that spell." Sophia answered.
Evan smiled in his mind, this spell would help him a lot in his plans. "Lady Sophia, can I get a copy of that spell, I think I will need it to bolster our agenda in the three years training."
Sophia looked at Evan for some time. She did not know What Evan wanted to do with the spell, but after what happened some minutes ago, she had an indescribable trust for him. She nodded taking out a scroll from her ring.
"This is a duplicate, I hope you will use it to help our plans."
Evan collected it, then looking straight into her eyes. "I promised you that I will help you make your dreams a reality. So don't worry."
After collecting the scroll, Evan had small chats With Lady Sophia, keeping her company for hours. When it was evening, Evan bid goodbye and left.
He had succeeded in what he came to do, he had planted a seed, and it would start growing soon.
