Esther frowned, not convinced. "But he went out of his way to make that effort. You know how rare that is, right? Most guys wouldn't bother to start a business just to get closer to someone."
"I know, but…" Michelle hesitated, unsure how to express the tangled feelings inside her. "It's like he was interested for a moment, and now… now he's just vanished. It's confusing."
"Maybe he's just waiting for the right moment to approach you again," Esther suggested, trying to offer some hope. "People get busy, but that doesn't mean he's lost interest."
Michelle shook her head. "It's more than that. I think he's scared. Maybe he realizes I'm not the kind of person he thought I was. Or maybe he just thinks I'm not worth the effort anymore."
"Don't say that!" Esther exclaimed, a hint of indignation in her voice. "You are worth every effort, Michelle. If he can't see that, then he doesn't deserve you."
