"I'm going to brush my teeth, and when I'm ready, I'll call you," Jane Sampson said with her mouth, but her arms remained wrapped around James Black's waist without letting go. She rubbed her head against his chin like a little kitten begging for affection and then changed her mind, saying, "A little longer hug before I go would be better."

James Black chuckled in a low voice, indulging her as she continued to hold onto his waist. He gathered a bit more strength in his arms, hugging her tightly.

"Getting affectionate first thing in the morning?" he asked, leaning down to plant a kiss on her forehead.

"Is that not allowed?" Jane Sampson looked up at James Black very earnestly and asked, "If it's not allowed, then I won't do it."

"Granted," James Black laughed softly and then rested his head on top of Jane Sampson's.
