"No, go with your work. I-I will be fine..." Lucy told him in her slow voice but Davis wasn't of the same thoughts right now.
"I can't leave you like this."
In response, Lucy passed him a glowing smile. She stood back on her legs, leaving his embrace.
The distance between them suddenly made Davis feel a lack of comfort. His brows curved into a frown but then he heard, "Go ahead. I-I will wait for you. Letting people wait isn't good."
Instead of hearing her, Davis was more intently watching her.
At this point, his eyes were affixed on her face where the brightness was omitting from her simple smile.
Beneath that mask, he could imagine the strong stand she took.
'Maybe I also need some time alone to seek out these feelings.' he thought in his mind and finally, took a deep breath.
