Ethan left Vera where she had asked him to and drove away without questions. He knew he wouldn't get any answer.
She would share her information when it became relevant for the mission, but not a second before that. Working with her was fun, and they would solve most cases. However, it could also be stressful.
«Don't worry about me,» she said. She even bent forward and left a light peck on his cheek.
He sighed, realising she was already thinking far ahead. They were looking like a couple, true. Even though Ethan was older than her, it was by nine years only. He would act like a tutor with her, sometimes being a little bossy and scolding her like a child, but they weren't so far apart.
Seeing her grow up had made him forget her age.
